    Racism at its finest
    Brittney M.

I've never seen this level of blatant racism. I was told to order at the to go window but there were 3 white customers allowed in the establishment AND served. After I was directed to the window. My mind is blown!

2 egg breakfast with toast and hash browns smothered/covered/peppered. Yum!

Placed a to go order on a Sunday around 11am. This place was POPPIN (popular/packed). Despite that, my order was prepared timely and correct! The food was hot and exactly what I was expecting. If you've never been to a Waffle House, it's a casual diner, used to be open 24/7 but I would check that before going at an odd hour. I hadn't been to a Waffle House in years before this visit but I'll definitely circle back soon

So much food, Gustavo ate all!

Hello, it is I, Gustavo! I am here to bring you my first yelp review, or as I call it, y help? (Get it?). But yes. Where to begin? I drive very late at night on occasion, to avoid the night yelling of my wife of course. This one particular cold and not so stormy night, I find myself in the pits of despair. Head pounding, heart beating, I dig my fingernails into my velvet steering wheel cover (which is the height of luxury in my country). As my symptoms stack up by the minute, I notice a new opposition! A dreaded shooting pain in my side! Yeeeouch. As the all-consuming hunger begins to chase me, my need for consumption rises. Then I see it, approaching in the distance. The yellow beacon of hope, like a city on a hill, a glowing sign that brings promises of the new world, a house made of waffles! I park my '97 Corolla out front and walk up to the establishment. Just as I reach for the handle, a masked man jumps from the bushes to ambush me! Oh the excitement, I love a good challenge. I fight off the assailant in the nick of time and enter the palace. This place has jukebox style music, very classy. I am told by lady waitress who is also chef and manager to "sit wherever." Oh am I a sucker for a sense of control. I choose to sit in the high top bar counter. I order and watch in awestruck amazement as drunken multipurpose worker lady cracks eggs with one hand and smokes cigarette with other. Just like father! Wow! It is at this moment that I remember that I failed to mention I eat enough to feed small village, very important in the coming events (picture below.) Plate after plate, I shovel the grease and gristle into my mouth hole, loving every minute of it. In a raspy southern charm voice of another patron, I hear "slow down bud" which invigorates me to eat even faster. After all this food, I expect hefty bill that make my wife yell real loud, but instead I am greeted by bill that just says $22.57! What a deal and what a journey. Wife will only yell a little, so I will return. 5/5. -Gustavo

Can't believe we haven't found this quaint 'lil restaurant before now. This is definitely going to…read morebe a regular spot for us. Had to get bloodwork done at 6:30am, so afterwards we were close to here and craving breakfast, so it was a no-brainer to stop in here. Having been born and raised in Mississippi, I am always on the hunt for some good southern homestyle cooking and I for sure found it here. First, everything about the outside and inside of the restaurant reminded me of all the lil mom and pop restaurants I was raised going to. Great nostalgia for me. Now was the food going to live up to what the place looked like?? YES! So I went in craving breakfast and then what did my little eye spy on the menu? An open-faced roast beef sandwich and they service breakfast and lunch all day? Well, yes, please and thank you! Forget brekkie, I went straight for that open-faced roast beef with fried and all of it covered in gravy. OH MY! I'm talking this is the kinda food that (as we say in the Deep South) makes you wanna slap your momma! The bread was piled high with fresh roast beef. The fries were steak fries which are my favorite. The gravy topping everything was just the chef's kiss to set everything off! So many things I want to try on the menu, but I think it's going to be a while before I order anything other than that open-faced roast beef! Hubby had scrambled eggs, toast, hash (his fav brekkie food and he asked for it crispy - they delivered), and breakfast potatoes. He said everything was great and that it's the best hash he's had. I have never been a fan of hash, but I always try it. This has I would definitely eat. It was good. Can't say I'd order it myself because I'm just not a fan, but if this is the breakfast that was served to me, I definitely wouldn't turn my nose up at it. Anyway, two big thumbs up from hubby. Wheelchair friendly. Clean restrooms. Great service from our attentive and sweet server. Food came out very fast. I also much mention the Diet Coke. You know how some are just better from certain fountains? Yes, this was one of those cold fountain Coke's that was just so good. It really hit different. I ordered water as per usual because I try to not drink soda too much, especially while I eat, but hubby mentioned how good it was so, of course I had to try it. He was right. Very good indeed. If you are in the area, don't miss out on this lil restaurant. You will not be disappointed! The only negative thing I can say is they are only open until 3pm on weekdays and only until 2pm on the weekends. Guess that's a good complaint though. LOL Sure wish they were open for dinner too b/c we'd really be eating here a lot!!

I wanted everything on the menu. This was more than southern comfort. I was very impressed and each dish had the perfect balance of flavor. Portions were perfect and it's always nice to be satisfied without feeling sick after like so many "comfort" foods can. I got the Korean seabass special and it was slightly pan fried with a crisp I the edges and meaty center. The pickled peaches were excellent! The ice cream is house made and very unique. We had the popcorn, buttermilk and brown sugar. I liked the brown sugar the best. :) The drink selections were great. I really enjoyed this orange beer that had over 5 % abv and is a good contender to OBP! We will be back next month because I've got to try the ragu and gnocchi!

Their story and concept is great. You're truly supporting a local business that has been around for a long time and has amazing reviews. The owner is the chef and they have a staff of maybe 5 people total. It's personal and professional. It's fresh food made daily and you can see them working in the kitchen. If you go and eat one thing, it's the ribs appetizer. The salmon was amazing too. But the sauce and those ribs will have me going back!

The pizza was definitely the star of the meal. It had a crispy bottom with a light, fluffy crust, giving it a really nice texture from the first bite to the last. One thing that stood out was the sprinkle of Parmesan cheese over the top. It's a simple touch, but it added another layer of flavor that made the pizza stand out from your typical pepperoni pizza. This was my first time trying the pepperoni bread, and it didn't disappoint. It had plenty of filling, great flavor, and paired really well with the pizza. It's something I'd order again without hesitation. The lemon pepper wings were another favorite. They had a crispy outside, were seasoned well, and the lemon pepper flavor came through without being overpowering. Overall, we were really happy with everything we ordered. The pizza, pepperoni bread, and wings all lived up to expectations. Next time, I'll probably branch out and try a few more items from the menu. Our food came pretty fast and we both enjoyed large pizzas. My husband and I split a large pizza with chicken, spinach, and garlic. Wow it was amazing! Beware the pizza is pretty thin though so I wouldn't recommend splitting with more than 2 people. We were seated right next to the dessert case, which made it hard for us to say no. The brownie/strawberry cheesecake was amazing. The inside gives diner vibes and the outside offers nice seating when the weather is well. The menu is very large and we will be back to eat pizza and try something new.

That was a great decision, on my part. The staff was pleasant, the ambiance was charming, the Eggy Bagel I had was great, but the star of the show was the caramel latte they created for me. I believe the phrase my youngest daughter would use, is "Amazeballs". I'm not exactly sure what metrics are involved in reaching amazeballs status, but I do know it is several rungs above amazing. I'll be back!

It is very much the type of environment that calls for a sit down-even if a brief one. I noticed most folk sat in with their coffees/food/pastries. The service was friendly but sadly the espresso and steamed milk machines were broken during my visit meaning many coffee items were unavailable. Major bummer as I am an iced latte lover so I settled for a cold brew which was decent. I definitely would have preferred a latte so hopefully next time I'm in Sanford, all systems are go. I also ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich and requested the turkey option instead of regular bacon. I would have assumed the "turkey" option meant turkey bacon. To my surprise it was actually deli sliced turkey. While it wasn't overall unpleasant, I would have preferred turkey bacon given it is a breakfast sandwich. Would have given it that crispy element. But as stated, it was nice and a good size for the price tag. I didn't have room for any pasty, cake or pie but looking forward to trying next time as they all looked really yummy on the display case! If you are looking for a coffee or quick cafe stop in Sanford, this is a notch above the chains and worthy of a stop!
