My food took nearly an hour to get to the table, but when it did, it was very delicious

We visited Flightline Café for breakfast, and unfortunately, it was just an average experience. The food was basic and nothing particularly memorable. Service was also slow, especially considering we only ordered a simple breakfast. The highlight of the visit was definitely the atmosphere. Sitting outside and watching the planes take off and land made for a unique and enjoyable experience. Overall, if you're already in the area or enjoy watching airplanes, it's worth stopping by for the view. However, I wouldn't recommend making a special trip just for the food, as there are better breakfast options elsewhere. read more

Food, good. Ambiance, nice. Service, lacking but coming along. I've driven by here so many times and always wanted to try it, and today I finally did. It was fine. I got there before 10:00, which is when breakfast stops being served. However, by the time the server finally acknowledged me, it was after 10:00 and she said it was the lunch menu now. Really? After she kept me waiting so long it missed out?!?!? Thankfully there was another person there who said I could order breakfast. The food came in a to go container, not sure why, and when they asked if I wanted it to go, and I said no, they took it back to the kitchen where it felt like they just dumped it onto a plate and brought it back out. Interesting. After listening to the conversation going on, apparently the owners had fired everyone and brought in an all new crew. I had the second person she my server was brand new, so that might account for some of the concerns I had. If I go back, it won't be for a few months to let everyone get their legs under them and maybe things will change? read more

I had heard around town that the food here was good so my son and I decided to check it out one day. I had a cheeseburger with fries and my son had the kids pancake with bacon. We both enjoyed our food. Portions were substantial and we both had leftovers. Prices were reasonable. My kid is insanely picky. I wish they had macaroni and cheese, a cheese quesadilla, and/or a plain hot dog as a kids meal option. Thank goodness we were early enough to order breakfast because my child does not eat burgers, chicken tenders, or corn dogs. Lord, help me! The best part of this place is you can sit by the window or on the outdoor patio and watch planes take off/land as you eat. This made my kid so happy he didn't even ask for his tablet! Haven't written a review in a while and I try to only write positive ones since so many people write negative ones, but this place hasn't changed at all and the negative reviews are spot on. We went for breakfast this morning and no one acknowledged us or visited our table. They appeared to be drastically understaffed. No one was even working the bar so that I could get drinks while we waited. We cut bait and left after 20 minutes or so. Don't know how you can stay in business with service that's this abysmal. read more

Wellll... Before you come here, on a late Sunday morning, make sure you have nothing else to do for a few hours after. The wait was terrible getting the food. The service was very good though. The waitress was attentive. The place was fairly quiet, not many people in restaurant ( 3 tables before us waiting when I arrived). At least the food was good. read more

Whole experience was kind of meh...Table wasn't wiped down at all...Service was slow...unknown that karaoke was about to start early that evening (5pm ish ?)....My buddy got the chicken parm and he didn't care for it, and he's not picky....I got a burger and fries...Burger was decent, but I hardly got any fries...So I left still kind of hungry....It's annoying when restaurants short you on fries...Also, I did not care for the bioengineered mayo in packets. read more

I'll probably have breakfast here every time I stop in town. Whoever is cooking in the back knows what they are doing. There were so many menu options and something for everyone to eat. I had the French toast with cheese grits, sausage patties, and home fries. They have a bar and different evening events like karaoke and bingo, depending on the night. Emily was a wonderful server. not good it takes over an hour even when they're slow we have gone over there for breakfast and it takes over an hour. We've gone there for lunch and most definitely takes an hour and a half. Don't waste your time. they keep saying growing pains there's no one eating and you can't get your food in a reasonable amount of time saw several student pilots after an hour leave. LOVED THIS PLACE!! Such a cozy little restaurant. We got there about 4:30 on a Fri and were the only ones. Only two other tables came in while we were there. Our waitress was such a sweetie and was always making sure things were okay. The food was absolutely delicious too. Since I usually do keto, I had a chicken sandwich without the bun. Generally places just throw that shit on a plate and call it good, but this place gave me such a nice looking "sandwich!" It was like art! Bf had nachos and they were not stingy on the chicken, it was awesome. They serve alcohol too. I don't know why it's not busier. This place is a gem. Update: the above was a month ago. Returned last night on valentines and it was decorated with heart balloons and they had a valentines playlist. Our waiter, Isaiah, was such a sweetheart and just the best waiter. The food was absolutely amazing yet again. They definitely do not skimp. It's a little out of our way, but so worth the drive. We held a organization meeting here. They catered a lunch with a great selection of tacos. The food was excellent and the accompanying tomatoes, lettuce, cheeses etc. we're fresh and tasty. If the regular food and services are anything like the catered meal, it's worth a stop. read more

We flew into Winter Haven for a quick bite and some drinks. We opted to sit at the bar and Amir, the owner of the restaurant, provided us with excellent service. Just after a couple minutes of speaking to Amir, you can tell that he takes great pride in his restaurant and wants every person who walks through those doors to have an excellent experience and leave feeling well taken care of. When we walked in, there was a man playing a guitar, which I enjoyed and thought provided a great ambiance. My boyfriend and I were not as hungry as our friend, so we opted to order an appetizer to share. One of the chefs recommended the pimento cheese dip with pork rinds, which are made fresh to order. It was a wonderful recommendation...the pork rinds came out crackling and had a great seasoning on them. They paired really well with the pimento cheese! Our friend had the pimento BLT which was very large and looked delicious. He seemed to enjoy it. When we ordered drinks, I told Amir that I was a craft beer fan and he immediately recommended a beer and pulled it out of the cooler to show me. It was an amber ale that I had never had before. I was impressed that they offered a wide selection of bottled beers here and that he was fairly knowledgeable regarding them. The beer was delicious and was exactly what I was looking for. An overall excellent experience. I will definitely return and am looking forward to trying other items on the menu. I can only speak for myself but a group of us went there two weeks ago. We were promised a breakfast buffet. They did have somewhat of a buffet for $12.99 and a cup of coffee for $2.95. Watery scrambled eggs, overcook sausage Pattie's and hardly any bacon. French toast when they had it was burnt. They took miniature cubed potatoes probably frozen for home fries. First time visiting. Food was okay. Service could be better. Server was very open to information but not very attentive (to us at least). The outside seating could use an upgrade as the chair I sat on was broken. But nothing major. Been able to sit and look at the planes go by was pretty good. My son enjoyed some of them. We figured we would try something different, so we decided to try the Flightline Cafe at the Winter Haven Regional Airport. Needless to say my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. We ordered cheeseburgers and added a fried egg on top. The burger appeared to be fresh hand made, and perfect for a good look. Very juicy! This is an amazing place! The food is fresh and cooked. The Cuban sandwich has pork that is actually not over seasoned and tastes like pork! They do it right, and I should know being Cuban. This is also the first place to cook my eggs perfectly, I'm picky as I like my eggs over medium but with a runny yolk, and completely cooked whites. Well until now only my mom and myself could do it right, and no restaurant or diner ever got it, and the owner cooked my eggs herself cause she knew exactly what I wanted. I appreciated that very much, especially since I have a slight allergy to the white protein and cooking it thoroughly makes it edible, but I hate cooked yolks so I appreciate it so much! The Belgian waffle was nice and fluffy, and the grits was smooth, exactly as it should be. Drank guava juice which tasted like it was fresh out of the tree, sweet with a hint of natural bitterness! And please do yourself a favor and get some dessert at the end of your meal, they make those here too, and the banana fosters cheesecake was richly textured and the bourbon sauce was the best! I only wish I ordered it at the same time as the waffles so that I could have dipped them in that bourbon sauce... so good! This is definitely a place to go, and the ambiance is nice, clean atmosphere with planes and travel theme. You can even go to the patio to look safely at the planes... sit there and enjoy some coffee. This place is a must visit! read more

Great location overlooking the runway. Clean, family run and affordable. Very eclectic menu and everything is homemade and fresh. I had the blackened haddock sandwich which was fresh and not overly blackened. Husband had an outrageous burger cooked to perfection piled with brisket and onion rings. The fish tacos were ridiculous and the meatloaf was excellent. Only negative is that they are closing for the summer. We will be back after Labor Update: Went back last week. Excellent airport cafe. Friendly staff, great food and a aviation themed decor. This airport is on the FBO of KGIF winter haven which is a nice and large uncontrolled airport. They had live music which added to the ambiance. Had the Pimiento BLT which is a Texas toast sandwich consisting of fried green tomato, bacon and kale.
