Chicken and waffles with maple bourbon syrup. Poached eggs on the side

Stopped here for a weekend brunch, and what a score. Fluffy waffles and yummy avocado toast. The cute restaurant off the main road was tricky to find but GPS never fails. Restaurant is in a house turned eating establishment. I always seem to notice that restaurants like this alway produce excellent good. Great service and top notch eats. My kind of place. Will definitely return.

This is a wonderful little fine dining venue in the heart of an unlikely residential area in Winter Haven. We know the chef's former restaurant in California, as it was one of our favorites when we lived there, so it was fun to try this place that he owns. We had lunch, where they serve a limited menu of salads and sandwiches. Everything we tried was delicious. We were particularly impressed with the number of house-made ingredients, including the sauces, sorbets, and ice creams. Service was extremely friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with the chef. We will definitely come back here to try their dinner menu.

I've been going to Nutwood since it first opened. I've enjoyed seeing the process of the restaurant grow and the menu evolve into what it is today. I've most often been to Nutwood for dinner. The kale salad, egg yolk raviolo, and specials are always lovely. For lunch, I crave their rice bowl! It's SO good - even to go! Beth has been on the wait staff for so many years. She is incredible! She is kind, warm, attentive and knowledgeable to help you choose your perfect meal. Today I visited for Sunday brunch. The adorable house is charming for romantic meals, but I love to take advantage of the chance for a nice brunch outside on the front porch during days with beautiful weather. That's something you can't find many places in WH. My order: Chorizo Tostada DELISH! It was super fresh and flavorful. At my table, chicken & waffles, the burger, and brioche benedict were ordered and all were enjoyed! Such a hidden gem in Central Florida! Chef Steven Rojas is a highly acclaimed chef. My only hope is that they would put the burger on the dinner menu.

My entree was extremely over salted which ruined the dish. Also the food is overpriced compared to the quality of the food.

What a find! A must visit if you're here for Legoland…read more Atmosphere/Ambience: Old diner throw back meets family restaurant with darker colors. Lots of booths. Noisy background with large dining spaces but not too loud. Good for families with kids when you know it won't disrupt others. Happening place! Service: Very accommodating and super attentive. Flexible with needs. Water always full. Order ad-ons went in quick. When half of the food took a bit, manager came out with some free food even though we didn't complain! Easy to get a reservation here same day for a weekend during prime time for a large party with kids. Food: Really delicious and tons of options. We loved the holiday cocktails, kids menu, adult menu, and desserts. Everything was a banger. Standouts included the BBQ plate, shrimp, salads, and fries. Yes, the fries. Perfect crispy inside and pillowing inside. Simple dishes on the surface, but very well executed and flavorful. We wanted to order more even though we were stuffed. Very large portions. Drinks: Agree the butterfly drink is a standout. Holiday cocktails including Coquita was nice. Good selection of a craft beer. No complaints and very intriguing. Price: Incredible deal! Usually pay twice this or more in larger cities and for the quality? Amazing. We will be back!

Service was attentive, and we appreciated cooling off in the AC after a morning festival. The only hiccup was the appetizer arriving with the meal, which made things feel a bit rushed. Legoland Shipwreck Restaurant - Plant based dinner platter

I definitely have to update my review from a few years ago as I returned here a couple of times…read morerecently and had a great experience. This place is absolute paradise for my Lego loving child. It's pirate themed and has epic Lego creations. My son loves the area where kids can play with Legos and it's nice for the parents too as it gives them a break. The food is served family style and you get a lot of bang for your buck as you can reorder as many things as you'd like. We chose the Pirate Platter which includes: a delicious salad with apples and pecan and honey bread upfront, then a platter of assorted meats such as brisket, steak, sausage, chicken, and ribs. The brisket is our favorite. It comes with green beans, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. I really wanted to try some of the vegan platter so they brought that out for me at no extra charge. For dessert, we got a pan cookie with ice cream as well as the vegan chocolate fondue with fruits and marsh mallows. All of this unlimited for only $39 per adult and $19 per child with drinks included. Delicious and such a fun dinner experience! Since I stayed at the hotel, I also came here for breakfast as it is included in the stay. Breakfast is the same across all three Legoland hotels. It's also served family style and includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, French toast or pancakes. You can add fruits, yoghurts, cereal, oatmeal at no up charge. And it also includes drinks such as coffee, milks, juices, etc. The staff was very accommodating about letting me take things to go and ordering extra stuff.

Older lady, you can tell she's been around as a waitress for a while. Kind of reminds me of like the old diner waitresses "What are you having" lol. Anyway, she was awesome. She let us pick off both options. We ordered the pirate one which is BBQ choices and we got some of the sea dog options for the seafood side. So sweet. We first got our bread. It was good. Tasted like a yeast bread. Came oiled and with sweet butter. It also came with a salad as well for the table which had cheese, tomatoes onion and greens. The salad dressing was light and sweet. The main food came. It came with ribs, flank steak, pulled pork, brisket, beans, string beans, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, sausage, and shrimp. 3 sauces came with it, regular bbq, mango bbq and mustard. The mango bbq had real mango in it. Now, preface by saying I understand this isn't a 5 star Michelin chef meal and I wasn't expecting much. However, this was actually very good. The steak was very good. Not dry. The brisket was good. The ribs were good not dry. The pulled pork was dry. The salmon was good, The shrimp was good, Sausage was good, the string beans were ok, the macaroni was very heavy but good and the mashed potatoes were good. Overall I was very impressed. Then for dessert came our chocolate chip covered ice cream with heath bar bits. So very fattening.

This is a casual restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating and it is seat yourself. We picked an open table outside and sat there for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us. They then sent the server assigned to our table (Samantha). It was a quick smile-free greeting and she took our drink orders, then when serving our drinks she took our food order. After serving our food, she never stopped by our table again, although she stopped by her other tables around us several times. We had to stop her to ask for a box and our check.....she never offered drink refills even. We ordered a single cheeseburger with bacon and a side of onion rings ($14.74), a Fish Filet with no side ($14.50) and an order of Tater Kegs ($11.50). The cheeseburger with bacon looked great but didn't live up to the appearance. It was kind of tasteless....even the bacon was disappointing. The onion rings were crisp and pretty perfect. Fish Filet was large and tasty although we really would have liked more tartar sauce. The Tater kegs were also large and tasty. It was nice sitting outside with view of the lake and boat activity. This restaurant has potential to be much better....slow, minimum and cold service really takes a restaurant experience down. I hate that I cannot recommend this restaurant.

So you can imagine how happy I was when they decided to open a love bird in Winter Haven just a few miles from my permanent office. I think this location is even better than the Lakeland location because it is a little bigger than the parking lot is much better. They still have that absolutely fabulous crispy fried chicken that is so delicious. I love that you can cater it to your personal spice level. I like mine medium, but my mom prefers hers with no spice. Their fried chicken stays crispy even when it gets cold. Sometimes I'll go and grab myself some lunch while I'm at work and then get some fried chicken to take home to my husband for dinner and it's still crispy and juicy and fabulous. I also love that they have a meal that was invented for me. My favorite thing to order is called, The my girl ain't hungry. It consists of one giant chicken, tender in your choice of fried or grilled with a side and a drink for eight dollars. It is the perfect portion for me. Now, when people come to visit me in Winter Haven, lovebird is always one of the places I recommend we grab lunch.

We started with the pretzel appetizer, which was hot and crispy on the outside while staying pillowy soft on the inside. The wasabi mustard is a game changer and easily the standout accompaniment. The queso is your standard yellow queso, similar to classic nacho cheese. We tried the Kingpin Brisket Sandwich with barbecue sauce on the side. The brisket is finely chopped but could benefit from more seasoning on its own rather than relying on BBQ sauce to carry the flavor. The pineapple slaw and onion straws add nice texture and layers of flavor, which makes you hope to see improved brisket quality in the future. The Philly was ordered to-go, and the portion size felt small for the $16 price point. The steak again lacked seasoning, though the bread was toasted nicely. It comes with peppers, onions, and mushrooms; I opted out of peppers and didn't really notice any mushroom flavor coming through. Overall, the menu has a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, and wings, but I'd like to see improvements in seasoning, protein quality, and overall consistency. On a positive note, the server was very friendly and efficient, and the pickup process was smooth. Looking forward to trying additional offerings in the future and hoping to see some quality improvements across the menu.
