This place has gone down hill. I know it's a waffle house, but they don't even try at this location anymore. The last 3 times we have been there the staff have been behind the counter watching You Tube videos, complaining about customers, and complaining extremely loudly about the prior staff on the shift. Today we sat there for 5-10 minutes with a dirty table while the manager complained to everyone in the restaurant that the previous shift didn't do dishes. When we got up to leave she heckled me for leaving... what happened to this place. My previous review was 5 stars, but mo longer read more

I have never been to a Waffle House so I wanted to give it a try... I enter the restaurant and took a seat at the counter it all booths were full... I was greeted by a friendly staff and I looked over the menu and saw the managers special posted on the wall and had to try it. Eric's Southwest Sausage burger with Hash browns (Contains ground beef, pork onions and jalapenos)... I rate the food as followed. Eric's Southwest Sausage burger - C Hash Browns - C I could have made this meal myself at home... I was pretty disappointed but I did see other things I want to try so I may be back... Even through getting humiliated by your cook Roland ( or whatever his name was) your were amazing! Maybe management should look into the way he talks to employees. Especially in front of customers.. After a morning of running errands, my hubby and I needed food. We decided Waffle House was a good, nearby option. We hadn't been to one in many, many years. Let me tell you we were disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the prices were decent and the establishment fairly clean. We were seated right away and took a few minutes to look over the menu. I thought the menu was very confusing. Why? It was like a kindergarten picture book. (See my photo.) Give me a straight forward list with prices not all this back and forth, look here and there, here are the up sells, type menu. What the heck? I can read, I don't need a picture of a scrambled egg. I know what they look like. Service was quick and our order came out very quickly. I had a waffle and a side of bacon. My husband had eggs, hash browns, grits, biscuits with gravy, and a waffle. I could not believe the look of my waffle. It was such a sad little waffle. I don't know what I was expecting, but has my husband said, "It's the WAFFLE House" meaning we were expecting amazing looking waffles. Ours were overcooked and so, so THIN. I think all I wanted was a pretty waffle for breakfast. Poor me! My bacon was so tiny and overcooked as well. I was good though, cuz bacon is bacon! The syrup was so so sugary and the "spread" (aka butter substitute) was disgusting. It's nothing but hydrogenated oils. I didn't use it. My husband said his biscuits and gravy tasted like English muffins with gravy on top. They did not look very appetizing at all. It wasn't my favorite meal ever and we likely not be back. Just not our kind of place. read more

The Waffle House "is indeed marvelous, an irony-free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts; where everybody regardless of race, creed, color or degree of inebriation is welcomed. It is a magical, spiritual place." -AB. Start with Pecan Waffles, add butter and syrup. It shouldn't that good, but it is. Always have some hashbrowns. My preference? Scattered, smothered, covered, chucked, diced, and topped. 8pm, 2am, 8am, anytime works. read more

Waffle House is Waffle House. Of course you don't expect it to be fancy but it's cheap good eats. This particular location is clean. They clean off the tables and sweep the floor/area before seating the next party. I went on Sunday around 11:45 and was seated in about 15 minutes. It took about another 15 minutes for the food to be served. The location at this time was busy but they kept it things moving along. I was meeting coming there for breakfast and the waitress was nice. The entire staff seem over attentive where they kept asking if we needed anything every minute and if they can take things out of our way when we hardly had anything left on the table. I could not have a descent conversation with the person I was with. It was extremely noisy, and staff was so loud I actually ended up with a migraine just being there. Me and my boyfriend are highly disappointed with the overall visit to this location on 48th St and Chandler Blvd @7AM on this Sunday Morning. We should have known better as soon as we walked in there was zero customers inside and the workers were asleep on the tables, very unprofessional! We were greeted and our waitress did quickly attended to us. There was a younger girl on her cell phone having a personal conversation super loud where food is being prepared and she was even using vulgar language to one of the guy coworkers as if they had no customers in the place. The next problem is the girl preparing our food seemed to be tired and our food tasted exactly that way! Her shift was ending we figured because after she served out food a guy came in and took over. I wish we would've waited for him because he came in happy and preparing food that visually looked delicious. I question if our food was even fresh, our grits were super thick as if they had been sitting for a while and had no butter I've never had to add my own butter to waffle house grits, the sausage was sad looking, the eggs were questionable, and the waffles didn't even taste fresh or maybe they use a different batter at this location but they were not what we are use to. I still ate a good portion of my food not because it was good but because I was hungry and didn't want to waste our money completly. My boyfriend however took 1 bite of his waffle and his bowl he barely put a dent in it. They sure made it a point to charge us for every single thing but the service and food was garbage. whoever the owner or head manager is clearly does not care at this location Because it shows in the service and food! We will never return to this location, but anyone reading this do yourself a favor and drive a few miles down to the location on Baseline and the 10 freeway you will NEVER be disappointed regardless what time of day or night you go there the food and service is always absolutely amazing!! Money in the trash and the way these prices are in the world today this hurts to throw money away! read more

Cheap, fresh food, fast... 24 hours a day. What's not to like? Sure, sometimes it's a lil greasy but, it's not as bad as some and in a 24 hour breakfast joint like this, a lil grease is to be expected. This location is a lil newer and cleaner than the average Waffle House. They make up food that's just as good as all the others... my typical orders are the biscuits and gravy, grilled chicken sandwich or various breakfast combos (but never the waffle - don't go there). They have a pretty good salad, if you're ever in an no-grease mood while at Waffle House. lol Trust me and try the biscuits and gravy (gluttony) or plain grilled chicken sandwich (healthier)... they delish! Good people watching. See ya there! read more

Is this going to be the next waffle House to permanently close in the east valley? I went for breakfast to this 24-hour location at 6:30 a.m. on a weekday only to find out they were closed and we're not going to open until later in the morning. Not a good look for a WH ... Most of your customers would be okay with shortened hours if they knew this in advance of their visit. Took my brother to Waffle House on our trip back from Texas to California. He's never been to a waffle house before and he was a little nervous about going in. Once we were seated and he looked at the menu he was amazed. Our server Kevon and his sidekick Karee we're the best funniest servers I've ever had the pleasure of waiting on me. Karee Carrie wanted my brother to put on one of the Waffle House hats. When he went into the bathroom I placed a bet with her that she couldn't get him to put it on. I let her know I would buy her breakfast if she could get him to do it. Without telling him that she and I had placed a bet with each other. That kind of tweaked her a little bit she had to think. At the end of this amazingly good breakfast. I asked to take a picture of my two servers. That was Karee's to get my brother to put the hat on and take a picture. This girl thinks very very smart she won the bet. I paid her we left I laughed. Thank you so much for making a fantastic breakfast experience for us. read more

If you've not been to a Waffle House before... well... that's pretty odd, but this is a good one to start at. Basically, they have delicious breakfast foods, and then a variety of other lunch/dinner options, but if you're at Waffle House and you're not eating breakfast, you're doing it wrong. It's a diner, so the atmosphere is great. Sit up at the bar and watch them prep the food and enjoy the delicious smells, or grab a booth by the window and stare out into the parking lot while you try to ignore your hangover. The people working here are friendly, and the establishment is clean. The food is prepared well, and delicious. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. read more

My husband typically adds a second patty, but we weren't informed that it would cost an additional $10. Since the burger with a side is already around $16-$17, I was very surprised to see such a high upcharge for one extra patty. I spoke with the manager and explained that when an add-on costs that much, customers should be informed beforehand so they can decide whether they want to proceed. We had the spicy tuna crispy rice, mango shrimp tacos, scratch chowder, dragon roll and hot honey roll. Almost too many options to pick from. Everything was delicious. Not too crowded (it was a Thursday evening), so not too loud in there. We would definitely go back for happy hour and to try all the other stuff that looked and sounded really good. Great service, great food and really nice atmosphere! Loved all of the variety on the menu.

We also had mahi served at the table which was very good. We tried the lobster stuffed avocado appetizer, but were disappointed with this especially after the server raved about it. Note to server...when you rave about a dish, you might also warn your customers that it's fiery hot So, overall good experience, but one star deducted for the raving server.

Lol Protein is always on the menu for us! We shared the Lobster Spinach Queso, and the Aged Ribeye cooked to a medium rare. We like our steaks medium ish, and while the ribeye came to us cooked perfectly, it was tough. It was even hard to cut, even though it tasted okay. The fries definitely seemed like they had been warmed under a lamp for a while. Probably the best part of the meal was the queso, along with the Double Black Diamond Martinis we had for "Martini Monday." I believe rhe martinis were $7 each which is a great deal these days! It was yummy!! The restaurant was not busy at all on a Monday night. There is a bar on the right side when you enter. There is a huge dining room which would be perfect for a large party. We sat at a quiet booth for tbe evening and our server was great. He even brought us complimentary bread and butter. Overall, the food was okay. I would love to return and try the ribeye again. We really liked the drinks, and will probably return at some point. I will for sure come back for Happy Hour! I'd love to bump up this review to 5 stars, but we shall see...

It was a holiday weekend so probably a factor but we were fine because we didn't have to wait and got seated immediately. Our server, Brittany, was quick to come over and ask for drink orders. We both just had water today as we had already had our coffee for the day! I ordered the Farmhouse Hash, which is (from the menu): Two cage-free eggs any style atop fresh, seasoned potatoes, bacon, avocado, house-roasted onions and tomatoes, Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Served with our whole-grain artisan toast. I had to ask for some other avocado as the slices I got were brown and yucky. Brittany apologized and brought a small plate of additional slices but they really weren't much better. Avocados are such tricky little things and when they have brown spots, I pass on them. Overall the dish was good and didn't miss the avocado. Wife got her favorite Million Dollar Back and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Both were great and perfect and if you like lemon...try these pancakes. They are so good! Overall a good breakfast experience.

Our server, Dulce, was friendly and efficient...giving us extra time to settle in, review the menus and decide on what we wanted to eat. I decided to go with a lunch choice and ordered the patty melt with a change from Swiss to Jack cheese. Also asked for the fries to be extra crispy and was perfectly happy because they were cooked to perfection! Gotta love those crispy fries :-) Wife had the Eggs Benedict, which we both have had previously and today they were served perfect. They know how to do a poached egg (hard for many places so complements to the chef!!!). Their hollandaise sauce is good, creamy and with the addition of some lemon juice she squeezed on top, it was delicious. Granddaughter had the Cobb Salad and said it was good, fresh, and because she isn't a huge blue cheese fan, she asked for Ranch. Daughter-in-law had the Texan omelet, which she loved and ate every single bite. Our great granddaughter went with the kid's mac and cheese and I think it was the common Kraft Mac & Cheese in the blue box...which is her favorite and she ate about half of it and finished it later at home. I asked for orange juice; they fresh squeeze their juices and I love their O.J.! Overall a great meal and thanks to Dulce for putting up with us! She is amazing!!!

I arrived in the mid-afternoon and the restaurant was empty, yet nearly every table was dirty and had trash and dishes all over them. Instead of maintaining the dining area, the staff was sitting around eating and chatting, completely indifferent to the state of the restaurant. The meal itself was horrible. We ordered the California Avocado Flatbread which arrived topped with onions and no avocado. When we pointed out that the avocado was missing the server claimed the onions were meant for a Turkey Avocado Club (which also isn't supposed to have onions). We had to send our entire order back. Despite the place being empty, we waited another 20-30 mins for the remake. When it finally arrived, the quality was bland and disappointing; the chicken on the flatbread was served stone-cold, making it clear that "freshness" isn't a priority here. To top off a bad meal, the restrooms were filthy and smelled terrible. To make matters worse the restroom required a keypad code to enter, and the cashier gave me the wrong code twice, forcing me to walk back and ask again. Spending over $20 (including tip) for a "quick lunch" that was neither quick nor quality is unacceptable. Between the lack of basic cleanliness, the cold food, and the disorganized service, I won't be returning. It's a shame to see a place with potential turn into such a letdown.

I noticed most customers were paying upfront, and Carol, who was a sweetheart and very kind, was taking payments at the front. When my waitress brought my check, she told me I could pay her when I was ready, which confused me since everyone else seemed to be paying upfront and Ididn't hear her tell anyone else this. I ended up going to the front to pay anyway. Perhaps it was simply a misunderstanding, but I think staff should be mindful of how things can come across. If payment is normally handled at the table, clear signs explaining the policy could help avoid confusion. The food was okay, although some items weren't available after a certain time. I personally don't see myself returning, but I wouldn't discourage others from trying it. My experience may simply have been how I perceived the situation. I still tipped and very well.
