09/05 My visit to Waffle House was strongly influenced by fellow Yelp Elite Rashid M. I read his review on his visit to a Waffle House and started reflecting on when I lived in Savannah Ga and the times that I would eat at the Dean Forest Road Waffle House or the Garden City location. Passing the Waffle House that is close to my destination in Perry Ga, I knew that it was my only opportunity to indulge in a delicious waffle. I drove up and saw a lot of workers huddled on the outside, I started thinking that a shift change was in progress. I made my entrance and was given that southern hospitality of a friendly HELLO! One thing I can say about Waffle House, you will be properly greeted, if not instantly, a few seconds after entering. AND just in case you did not hear the first person greeting you, YOU won't be able to say that a second person did not greet you. I give them that. Jennifer was my waitress. Something I discern about Jennifer, She is caring, conscious, attentive, and she is sociable. Jennifer exercises key elements in customer service which make it hard for one to not pay attention to her engagement. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: She greeted me with a smile and escorted me to where she wanted me to sit. MENU KNOWLEDGE: She explained the different types of waffles with the ingredients and how the waffles are prepared. She answered all of my questions so that I can make an educated decision on my choices. EFFICIENCY and ACCURACY: Jennifer took my order correctly and served my meal with the right temperature and time. ATTENTIVENESS: Jennifer constantly checked on me without neglecting her other customers and kept a refill on my coffee while ensuring that I did not want for anything. PROBLEM SOLVING: She handled complaints calmly and she apologized sincerely with a quick fix on the issue. I haven't eaten at a Waffle House in a long time and I have never heard of Waffle House serving blueberry waffles, pecan waffles, strawberry waffles, etc... that is new to me. My selection was the blueberry waffle. I did not enjoy this waffle. I sent the first one back because it tasted half done. It was taken away and Jennifer had the next waffle timed 5 minutes longer. The new waffle was a little better. I guess I am not used to the taste that I forgot about from years of not eating at Waffle House. Keep in mind, Waffle House is a quick order restaurant and that makes them unique and a better choice for dining especially when you are traveling. My findings for this waffle house is 5 stars only because of Jennifer and exceptional service, the food alone was 3 stars and I am pleased to spread the word and I am pleased to.. It's was the worst experience of any restaurant I've ever been in. It was not busy. We were ignored for a while upon sitting down. The waitress was rude. I ordered eggs over easy, scattered hashbrowns, bacon and milk. I received cut up eggs I didn't recognize, well burnt bacon and well burnt hash browns, dry toast and coffee I didn't order. I had to ask several times for the milk and water. The food and service were horrible. I couldn't eat it. I tried returning it only to receive something worse then before. It was so bad, a couple that came in behind me leaned over and asked if we were receiving the same bad service. I wish I could upload the pictures I took of that Disgusting Mess. read more

I can't at all relate to the one-star review guy. First off, it's a Waffle House, so it's imperically accepted that it starts off as Perfect and goes from there. ;) (I know - I know - mistakes can happen. BUT... - So can embellishment...). Stopped by and ordered one of my usuals (steak/eggs, smothered/covered/diced/peppered/capped) and enjoyed hearing it expertly called out to the short-order cook. Honestly does this store even have a manager? Or better yet a regional manager?! Now let me begin by Saying that I have gone here out of convenience at least 15 times in my short stay in Perry but for my last few weeks here I have decided to venture to another one down the road. Why? Because the night shift here is a zoo! When you call an order in you cannot even hear yourself think the cook and waitresses are screaming so loudly and having a good old time. Not patrons mind you. The other night I asked if I could get a "build your own" omelet which is featured on the website... that apparently they do not ever look at. My request was met with howls of laughter!! Howl after howl as if I had asked them to prepare me a 7 course meal! The phone was passed from waitress to another waitress to a cook who ask just wanted to hear me ask for a sausage and cheese omelet.... it was ridiculous. I finally hung up after 5 minutes of being ridiculed for asking for a "build your own @ item. Mr or mrs regional manager please train your employees here. Please show them your new menu. read more

I still like this Waffle House, but if the food is this bad again, I might have to change my opinion on that. Waffles got to me stone cold (the softened buttery stuff they give you to go on them didn't even begin to melt); the bacon wasn't cooked nearly crispy enough, and my hashbrowns were only browned/crispy on the top. I didn't notice the waffles until it was too late to send them back because I was waiting on my bacon to show up (they forgot to cook it, and then it had to be sent back for more cooking), and the sausage gravy I got on my hashbrowns concealed them being 2/3 not done until it was too late to send them back, too. And the coffee maker obviously needed cleaning...it was the worst cup of coffee I've ever gotten at this particular WH. The bacon, when it was finally done, was very good, and the service was friendly and mostly capable (the cook made the mistakes, not our waitress Dee), but it was still a pretty crappy meal for me. We'll come back, but someone needs to step up their game next time around. read more

Family and I stopped here because it was near our hotel and wanted to grab something quick. Really clean for a Waffle House and the food was served quickly and tasted great. We pass through here often and will definitely stop again. read more
