Was meeting up with some friends out in Orange Park today and I knew I wanted to get a cheeseburger…read morefor lunch on National Cheeseburger Day. Noticed Callahan's was nearby and I had never ate there so I decided to pop in for a visit. One look over the appetizer list and I immediately knew I had to get the Irish Egg Rolls which consist of cabbage, corned beef, and shredded mozzarella and is served with a side of mustard and thousand island dressing for dipping. The egg rolls were perfect deep fried and had that great corned beef and cabbage flavor and they tasted wonderful dipped in mustard. I would definitely get these again and again in the future. For the burger I just went with their classic smash burger with pepper jack cheese. It was really good, a standard burger. Nothing bougie, nothing fancy. Just a nice, classic burger with great flavor. Came with your standard toppings. Lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion, and ketchup, mayo, and mustard on the side. Service and staff was friendly and made me feel very welcome. It felt like one of those places that remembers the names of all of their regular customers. I loved the atmosphere of the place and I look forward to a future visit to try more of the menu.

We stood at the front door for a solid 15 minutes before even being acknowledged. The place was full but there were a couple of empty tables needing to be cleaned. When we were finally sat, no one did a drive by to let us know about drinks or ordering. Another 10 minutes and we ended up leaving. The place was lively and a band was on stage which was set up for half the restaurant. I can appreciate that set up so the whole restaurant is not in front of the band. It felt like a lot of locals which is great for them. Maybe this isn't a spot to consider if you don't have hours to hang out. Unfortunately, we weren't able to dine so can't comment on the food.

I really wish it had a softer lighter bite but it lacked any sponginess. I realized quickly we would need some milk for coffee to wash it down. The icing was divine though. The caramel drizzle on mine was sweet but not overpowering an in perfect balance. I just really wish the cake itself had been better. I know people prefer different density in their cakes but I'm of the moist and spongy variety. Also the price is a bit high for the cupcake size especially given the quality. Service-10/10. It's counter service but the staff is welcoming and quick to assist. Atmosphere-10/10. Not too difficult to find amid a strip of stores. It's clean and cozy enough with nice seating options. The service and location were appealing but as it's not the type of cakes I enjoy I likely would not return .

The restaurant is a little on the smaller side but cozy. Service was super friendly as well! I ordered the following: Keto breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese: 9/10 - it was so delicious oh my goodness! It was pretty huge too! You can have your choice of bread and I chose a flatbread. The egg was fluffy, cheese was melted, and the bacon was crispy. Who would have though the sandwich was entirely keto friendly too??? Keto cheesecake: 8/10 - I didn't know it was crustless but nonetheless, it was delicious. It had caramel, chocolate drizzle, and nuts on top of the cheesecake layer. The cheesecake itself was creamy and flavorful. They had plenty of carb friendly and keto friendly desserts like brownies, cakes, and cupcakes in their display. I've had their keto cupcakes before and it's kind of dense but it tastes good with not alot of the fake sugar aftertaste. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and desserts. I will be back to try other things for sure!

We went on a Friday night during a high school football game, so it was a little busy, which was understandable. The atmosphere was lively and casual, with the usual Chili's feel. Even with the Friday night crowd, it didn't feel overly packed or uncomfortable. The service started off a little weird though. We requested a booth and were told there weren't any available, even though there were two clean, empty booths directly behind the hostess. We were seated at a table right across from them, and then the very next customers behind us were seated in one of the same booths we had just been told wasn't available. Not a huge deal, but definitely a little frustrating and confusing. Thankfully, our waiter made up for the awkward start. He was nice, attentive, and checked on us throughout the meal. The food was decent and consistent with what I normally expect from Chili's. Nothing that completely blew me away, but everything was good. It's still one of those easy places to go when everyone wants something different. Overall, decent food, a comfortable casual atmosphere, and great service from our waiter, but the experience with seating could have been handled better.

They didn't have wings ready yet which was really disappointing as I had read they were excellent. The BBQ sauce was thinner and more tart than we prefer, but again, not bad. Inside the building was a bit crowded and confusing. The drink machine is right in the middle of where you stand in line to order so that was a bit of a hassle. Inside tables were full so we ate outside, not a great view, but thankfully it wasn't too hot out. The staff were friendly enough and the food was better than a lot of places though a bit in the pricey side.

We came in on a Wednesday evening. We asked about the menu and were told at the counter that it was Wing Wednesday and the wings were $1 each. Well how could we not add those onto our order. We ordered a Burnt Ends platter with mac and cheese, and corn nuggets, a Brisket Platter with corn nuggets and beans. We also ordered a large mac for my son and a side of lean brisket. For the wings we ordered the Cajun ranch. Our food started coming out in about 5 minutes. Firstly, I was shocked at the wings. I love wings, but they aren't something I usually order often as I find them just OK. There are only a couple places that I visit specifically for wings. Well, let me tell you, I would make a visit back just for these wings. OMG, the Cajun ranch was simply amazing, really addictive. They were my favorite item. We devoured them. The burnt ends were very good. I appreciate they are big chunks of brisket with no pull pork filler. The flavor was amazing as well and the bits of fat melted in our mouth. The corn nuggets were fine and the Mac N Cheese was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal so much, were were trying to figure out somewhere for a family lunch the next Sunday and came back again. This time my sister, son and I brought my dad. We of course ordered more wings and burnt ends and brisket with lots of Mac N Cheese. The food really is something special. The wings are absolutely wonderful and the burnt ends are a hit. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and will always be on my list of visits to enjoy when I come back to Jax.

Food-6/10. I remember when Metro Diner was always doing unique dishes. The current menu feels standard diner and for the taste of the food, I'd rather pay the cheaper prices at other chain breakfast joints. I got the creme brûlée coffee which wasn't bad, but their cups are small and they don't fill them fully. That combined with the fact that when hey refill your cup it's with regular coffee is a bit disappointing. Though what truly disappointed was the fried chicken benedict. While the chicken was good, the poached egg was very under done and barely holding together and the yolk was quite cold. The hollandaise felt watery and lacked flavor. Meanwhile the home fries were a bit soggy instead of crisp. Service-9/10. My drink order was taken immediately as they seated me and brought quickly as well so I hadn't had a chance to look at the menu at all by the time she brought my coffee. I asked for a minute to get a look but then she didn't come back for quite a while. After placing my order she was gone for quite a while and I was longing for a coffee refill. I hadn't seen her in so long. I started to wonder if maybe she had gone home and someone else was going to be covering my area but hadn't made their way to me yet. Eventually, someone else brought my food out and they finally asked if I would like a refill on my coffee. Then a bit later she showed up to drop the check off. What was frustrating about this was that the restaurant was probably only half full. And despite that I struggled to be able to get a coffee refill. Atmosphere-4/10. The space feels like they just cram as many tables in as possible to get as many butts in the seat as possible. They take you into a middle table that you have to navigate through other seated people to get to and the spaces to navigate through are far too narrow. The noise levels inside are aggravatingly high. The music they're playing over their speakers is so loud that everybody is yelling to talk to the person across the table from them and be heard. And it just ends up everybody being louder and louder to be heard over the music. By the time I left, I had a throbbing headache. As far as the exterior, parking is a bit dreadful. Expect to have to park behind the building and walk to the front to enter. All in all, I can certainly say this was not the cozy breakfast experience. I had hoped it would be. It feels like at least this location has become overly commercial.
