A good experience at this Waffle House on S. 6th in MacClenny FL. Very good, actually, better than most Waffle Houses I've tried. The place is clean and the waitstaff is friendly and efficient. My order, a waffle and two eggs over easy with a side of raisin toast ($4.20) was a truly satisfying breakfast. And the coffee was super fresh and great tasting. I got the 2 Egg Breakfast with a biscuit and hashbrowns, smothered and covered ($4.30). My husband got the All Star Breakfast with bacon, hasbrowns, toast, and a chocolate chip waffle ($8.20). Bridget, our waitress, was great. It was super busy on the Sunday after Georgia vs. Florida. There was a very difficult party sitting near us--they literally had to remake their meals 3-4 times. You don't have to love Waffle House to appreciate them, this cookie cutter chain of restaurants are staples in the south, but they have in recent years been popping up in limited numbers across the country, but are still predominantly a southern thing. I find it difficult to order anything from here besides breakfast fare, no matter the time of the day. I've always went with the theory if you can do anything you can do breakfast no matter who's in the kitchen and here at Waffle House that's held true in all my visits no matter the location. We eat Waffle House all the time, but this experience was the worst ever. We were there this weekend and didn't even get to eat because the server was going ballistic on a couple that had been overlooked and waited over 30 minutes. Then the cook jumped into the abuse and started throwing F Bombs at the couple. This location needs to be reported to Corporate. read more

Walked in and floors were dirty and a young chubby ugly waitress wouldn't bother do her job to clean them and under the tables full of food and trash and dirt. My aunt said something in a kind way and she responded "if you don't like it, you can leave!". So we left and told a couple not to go there. No stars from me! Macclenny Waffle House is always clean, even their restrooms! Sometimes a clean potty is hard to find in a city full of fast food joints. And the servers are always pleasant and eager to serve you! We are Waffle House specialists. We travel and feel at home everytime we eat at a waffle house. This one is the best one in Flordia this far! I say this because A. The food tasted as it should and as ordered. The food came out fast and hot. B. The staff was polite and quick. One waitress gave a dollar to the jukebox machine for music. I will never stop at this location again!!! The first time i have ever had to get up and walk out of a Waffle House because I could not get service. This was the NASTIEST, and FILTHIEST location I've ever been into. None of the tables were being bussed and yet the had a full staff there!! I came in and sat down at the least dirtiest booth and the waitress said I will be right with you, she then proceeds to another booth and takes their order which is normal, 20 min later, she is still hasn't taken our order, the employees are more playing around than working. Went there for lunch today. Music was Blaring from either a radio or juke box. After what seemed like ten minutes a waitress finally showed up. I asked her if it was necessary for the music to be that loud. She said the night shift liked it loud, it's now 1 PM. Ordered a Cheesesteak. It came with hash brown potatoes, fries would have been better. Food was delivered at the same time as next table, a little confusing as to who ordered what. Waffle House has always been the go-to place for a great breakfast at a great price. Often busy, wait times are to be expected. Still the waffles are always worth the wait. Unfortunately, even the best tasting waffles cannot make up for ill-mannered staff. To say that the staff at the Maccleeney Waffle House is mouthy and rude would be a huge understatement. After a short wait, a table became available. The next customers in line were motioned over to the table. As they approached the table, they noticed it had not been wiped down yet. I overheard the Gentleman ask if the table would be wiped down. The response he received made my jaw drop. A waitress by the name of Gracie yelled out - You can go back over there and sit down until you are called for!! Really? The Customer was so startled he just stood there. He and his party actually stood another 5 minutes waiting as numerous times Mouthy Gracie passed by refusing to make eye contact or acknowledge the customers any further. Why wouldn't Gracie simply help out and wipe down the table? Her muttered response was - it wasn't her station it was Squirrely Shirley's. REALLY?? Here I thought the Waffle House Staff was a team? Gracie must have missed that bit of training. Guess that would explain her nonexistent customer service skills. Must be a new type of service at Waffle House. After all the Relief Manager Bridgette witnessed the entire exchange but never stepped in. Things went downhill from there. While the food was top notch the service was the pits. Apparently, a family member of one of the staff was also having breakfast. One customer lounging in a four-person booth being "attended" to by several of the staff. Laughing and carrying on while customers were left without refills or clean tables to sit down to. Over the years I have been to numerous Waffle Houses. Yes, at times it's been hectic, orders have been wrong, service at times backed up. Yet this location at 1495 S 6th Street in Macclenney Florida takes the top spot for obnoxious, skill-less, in need of training waitresses and Managers!!!! My best advice? Avoid this Waffle House like the plague!! read more

I hardly ever eat there as it is due to the way my last experience was there and not much has changed. My waitress Lisa was very prompt with setting us and grabbing our drinks but unfortunately her coworkers wasn't as friendly. We sat there for almost 30 mins waiting for our order to be called out but every time she would attempt to the cook Harley would cut her off with a bad attitude and tell her to wait. Do keep in mind there was only 2 other tables with customers, one that already had their food. When her final attempt to call out our order failed we just asked to cancel our order and pay for our drinks, she informed Harley, whom then decided to talk trash to her about it an cut her down as if she did something wrong. Honestly he seemed like the one who couldn't get hisself together. I really hope she finds a better job, that place has really gone to hell over the past couple years. I've had my ups and downs here at the waffle house. After some visits i wish the place would catch on fire and after others i wish i ate there more often.. It seems like it's a coin toss that depends on whose working when i go in. Honestly though there are more good days than bad, it's just an unfortunate reality that the bad days we seem to remember more. We stopped here while traveling on Christmas Day. My wife is gluten sensitive so she ordered her steak dinner with no bread. The cooks were so busy the waitresses were telling people calling in with to go orders to call back in 20 minutes. When my wife's food was delivered toast was covering both her eggs and hash browns making them inedible for her. Our waitress was very apologetic and quickly replaced the eggs and hash browns. Another waitress came over and stared harassing my wife stating that bread was everywhere there and she shouldn't be eating out. I almost wound up leaving because of the other waitresses cavalier attitude about our concerns. I've been coming here for years and have never had an experience like the one today. Nothing against our waiter she was very nice and got us handled quickly. It was busy but it was calm but there was one employee who kept making sure that everyone knew she was leaving at one pm. She was very loud and not doing anything other than just that, talking and being loud. Then she went to the jukebox and turned old rap music on so loud that my group and two other groups stood up paid and left unhappy. By Far the worst Waffle House I have ever been to! The waitress had the IQ of a squirrel and the cook made our triple over light eggs into sunny side up eggs that were raw. We didn't get silverware, syrup for our pancakes or butter. The waitress had to scream out our order over 5 times. Not to mention the cook was unable to comprehend bacon cooked light with the press chopped up and placed on top of my hash browns with eggs scrambled with cheese. They forgot the cheese by the way.
