    waffle house breakfast
    Ashley H.

Shane and Kevin are the $#@&. Great service. Great attitudes. Kevin did a great job on my food. Im a chef and im hard to please. Each bite was perfect. Shane up sold me. Took all my moneys. I had only planned on having one waffle and well (see picture) nonetheless I loved the conversation. I took a lot from it. These two are way bigger than this place. So give them a raise. Keep them there. You dont get service like this anymore. People like this keep businesses going.

The women's restroom was out of order today due to the lock mechanism not working correctly, but the men's room was very clean for all patrons to be able to use.

It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

They were really cranking out the orders, we were super impressed. Very good hospitality at this location! I ordered the cheese grits, crispy hash browns, and a waffle. I couldn't finish everything, but it was delicious and filling. I love fresh waffles! My dad ordered a breakfast I think and it came with toast, bacon, eggs, sausage, and cheese grits. He was so happy with everything. I would highly recommend you stop by this Waffle House off US90 if you're passing through and in the mood for some good breakfast food!

But no--this was the Four Seasons of Waffle Houses! The place was shockingly clean. Like, "did y'all just remodel or hire Martha Stewart?" kind of clean. I was suspicious at first, but then my food came out and I forgot all about my trust issues. The grilled cheese? Golden perfection. The hash browns? Double covered, topped and sent straight from the breakfast gods. My meal was cooked just the way I ordered them--the first time. I even saw the cook smile, and I'm 99% sure that's a sign of the apocalypse. Now, the real MVPs were the staff. Friendly, fast, and full of personality. My coffee cup stayed full like they were getting graded on it. I blinked and BOOM--refill. I coughed once and someone offered me hot tea. Southern hospitality was in full effect. And here's the kicker: no fights. Not in the booths, not in the kitchen, not even in the parking lot. I almost felt robbed--like I didn't get the full Waffle House experience. But hey, I'll trade flying fists for crispy bacon any day. If you're looking for a clean, peaceful, perfectly cooked Waffle House experience, this is the unicorn you've been waiting for. 10/10 would recommend--just don't tell too many people. We can't have this place getting too classy.

FINALLY returned to this gem in the 4th Ave Food Park! I came here over a year ago and absolutely…read moreloved it. I am personally a big fan of Detroit style pizza and thought they did a pretty good job. While they aren't owned or affiliated with Satchel's anymore, the eatery still offers that same unique vibe of Satchel's. Ordering is simple, just order inside and they will call your name out when it is ready over an intercom. Everything is made fresh to order, so be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for your pizza. It is served directly out of the oven and is very hot and fresh! They offer some specialty pizzas, but they have so many topping options it is super easy to curate your own pizza too. The pizzas are a nice size, about an 8x10 pan size. A good personal pizza size, but could easily be shared too. Along with pizzas, they offer salad, waffles, some desserts, and brews. This go around, I customized my own pie. I went with pepperoni (they use the cup pepperonis!), black olives, mushrooms, and basil. These toppings balanced out perfectly and there were ample amounts of each. The pizza was covered in toppings, with a nice sauce to cheese ratio. I love the cup pepperonis and find they hold a lot more flavor, bringing more to the pizza overall. The saltiness of the olives and the fresh mushrooms accompanied the pizza perfectly. The edges were nice and crisp, the sauce flavorful, and the cheese was divine. It wasn't soggy by any means either, which I GREATLY appreciate. This pizza was phenomenal, while it wasn't the most authentic Detroit style, it was certainly close enough! I also got a salad, which was underwhelming to say the least. It was supposed to come with "homemade croutons", but lacked them completely. Definitely not worth the $8.50...wouldn't recommend the salad. While the pizza is a little more expensive, especially considering they only offer takeout, the quality is present. And I do think the serving size is bigger, so I say it's worth it! Overall, I was super pleased with my experience and was more than happy I finally returned. The pizza was just as good as I remembered. Everything is made fresh to order and the service is great as well. I would for sure check this place out, especially if you are in the mood for some good pizza! Can't wait to return and try more.

I often went to SquareHouse Pizza thinking it would be like when they first opened, but it makes…read moresense after they separated from Satchels it would never be the same. I have come time and time again disappointed with the pizza size and the time it took to make it. Size: Pizza used to come in the size of their box! As you can see in my picture, that is no longer the case. It is no longer an actual square like its namesake but a rectangle. It reminds me of "all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares." And while it makes me chuckle to think how SquareHouse should know that. I am still disappointed in paying for that much of a pizza when I could get a larger one to share with friends at the same price point elsewhere. Service: Now I understand they can get busy but one time I waited 25 minutes with only one person ahead of me for my food -- a before anyone says anything. I ordered their waffles. Another time, they never called my name. They have a speaker but don't use it. It is a food park with tables everywhere. If you don't use the speaker system and know folks sit further than you can scream, then I think they should give a beeper. Ambience: It's at the food park which is great as long as it's not raining bc spaces to sit under covered areas are limited. And bc it was previously partnered with Satchels it has the same vibe. Overall, go once if you haven't but just be ready for disappointment Update since writing to address the comments of the business owner: 1) When I say first opened, I meant when it was called SatchSquared. 2) Size of the pizza: You're right I looked at pictures and updated. They aren't squares but from one years ago. They definitely filled the box more. 3) I sincerely don't appreciate being told about waiting or orders ahead and phone calls. I have come here more than 20 times and my experiences are always the same. I've come at opening, during high traffic times, and etc. And I am not someone to review after one instance of a place, I like to give them chances. I have lived in Gainesville for 17 years, and I'm very well aware of being polite to residents. I have definitely sat in the tables in the covered area close to the pick up window and have had to ask if my food was ready bc my name was not called and just to find out it was ready. I gave a suggestion about using beepers like the other places. I'm sorry my review caused some upset feeling but I stand by it. Service is not great. If you wanted to discuss via email then you could've politely said that. I won't be returning. Thanks!
