To my surprise, the parking lot is almost full and people are waiting in the lobby area for tables already. This must be Valdosta's Capital Grille! Even Josh, the manager, came over, addressed me by name and thanked me for coming in. I ordered a local craft ale from Georgia brewing. Delicious and ice cold! For dinner I had the Roadhouse Churasco. My flat iron steak was perfect temperature and it was surprisingly tender. The churasco sauce was fabulous too. My loaded mashed potatoes with bacon bits were excellent as well and the bed of rice the steak comes on was so flavorful. My broccoli and carrots were over cooked and dry, however. Review It had been quite a few years since my last visit to a Texas Roadhouse, and this was my first time at the Valdosta location right off the interstate. Structurally, the restaurant has plenty of parking and is very easy to find, though it was definitely packed. On the service front, the waitstaff was extremely nice. Our waitress was actually in training and did a fantastic job--she was highly attentive with refills and timed our ordering perfectly without making us wait around. The front-of-house staff seemed to know what they were doing, but the hostess failed to explain anything to someone who hasn't been to the chain in a while, throwing out terms like we were "on deck" without clarifying if we were signed in or what that meant. The highlight of the meal was easily the rolls; they are obviously the best thing on the menu, and the honey butter is incredible. From a value standpoint, the prices are very reasonable, the timing was great, and the food came out quickly. However, the food quality itself fell short of what I remembered. Cons The Peanuts: I saw the bucket for peanuts but didn't see any peanuts, nor were they offered. Lack of Communication: The front desk host didn't explain the seating process or what "on deck" meant. Overly Salty Chicken: The Chicken Fried Chicken was overly salty and tasted like it was dropped straight from a frozen package into a fryer, rather than made fresh. Overcooked Steak: The steak was ordered medium but served almost well-done and dried out, giving the impression it had been sitting on a warming pad for a while rather than being cooked to order. Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down Thumbs Down While it is a quick, easy, and well-priced spot if you are just looking for a fast meal on the go, the poor food quality means it will probably be a while before I choose to go back.

The customer service was great, everything was brought out correctly... the food? not so great…read more First of all, everything we ordered was very unhealthy. I didn't realize how much butter they put in everything. Ok, almost everything - my rice pilaff seemed pretty healthy and had no or very little butter. Chicken was buttered, mashed potatoes came with butter inside (of course, that's expected) but also a scoop of butter on top of mashed potatoes. Salad was soaked in dressing AND came with EXTRA dressing on the side in case you needed more!? The side of steamed broccoli that I was hoping will be healthier, came buttered, as well sitting on top of melted lemon butter sauce. I did request the lemon butter sauce on the side for chicken so thankfully it was on the side, just in case... yes, the butter sauce was tasty (lemon, garlic, butter) but in case you are trying to eat healthier and/or care about your heart, I would stay away from buttery dishes, ask for dressing on the side (even salad) and choose wisely. Oh, and as an appetizer they bring you complimentary delicious multigrain bread with a side of butter. The bread was delicious! Great ambience, clean bathrooms, otherwise.
