LOVE! The smoked wings are so delicious. I got my 8 month old a grilled cheese and he ate half of it. He's currently BLW lol. My husband got ribs and he loved them too. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was calm. read more

Had stop in Georgia on our trip. We heard a lot about Sonny's. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was nice, our server was great and the food was awesome! I would definitely go back here. We definitely recommend Sonny's. read more

The food was cooked perfect and Hannah, my waitress was super. Keep it up Sonny's. Place looks clean and well managed

I got very disappointed with this bbq. I have ordered "lean" beef brisket sandwich, mentioned a few times specifically - "lean", but I got this sandwich with half of the meat FAT. At this point it seems like a joke to call that sandwich lean, just check the photos. When I got the sandwich our waitress said that this sandwich is pretty lean, because "chopped" meat would have even more fat. My husband have ordered Sonny's sampler, his brisket was also very fat, at least chicken was good. Definitely a place wouldn't come back. $42 and hungry left the place since I can't eat FAT Design of the place is nice, but food not. read more

Food was undercooked to barely acceptable. Fries were undercooked. Chicken was marginal (yes the chicken). While ribs, brisket, and pork were cooked, ribs were tough, pork was very greasy, brisket ok. Restaurant was clean and staff was very nice. I did not ask for any consideration. Sorry but will be a long time before I go back to a Sonny's read more

The restaurant has more modern design with traditional barbecue flavors! We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. Large parking lot allows for easy access off the interstate. We enjoyed some of their baby back ribs, which were little less meaty and honestly not as moist as I prefer. We tried their barbecue eggroll, which was a creative fusion twist with some nice flavors, Unfortunately, the day we were there they were out of their brisket, which is my typical go to at a barbecue restaurant. The sides of coleslaw, beans, and fries were your standard barbecue fare. We found the restaurant clean and well maintained. Our server was very pleasant and kept us well hydrated with refills! A nice stop along the way if you're looking for some bar read more

Hannah was a great server and food was great. Stopped on our way home from Florida . Had the pulled pork stack. Husband had burnt ends.

Hope is the absolute best waitress! Very attentive and cheerful! Had the best experience with her.

Great BBQ! I've eat here three times this week! The Prime Rib was delicious! The smoked taste was great! I've had the same waitress all three times! She's made me and my wife feel like we're at home! read more

I went into this restaurant recently while visiting Valdosta. I sat at the bar. After waiting several minutes and watching numerous staff walk by me yet never being acknowledged or asked what I wanted. I got up and left. I will not return and I recommend you do not go because the service is nonexistent. read more

I remember eating at Sonny's over a decade ago. Eager to reminisce over some good eats, I pulled into a Sonny's while in GA. Food: I ordered the brisket sandwich. It should have been named the fat brisket sandwich because HALF the meat was FAT. See the pic. I enjoy some marbling, but this is just a heart attack on a bun. If that wasn't bad enough for my health, after eating the corn nuggets, I noticed that the styrofoam container had melt marks where the nuggets were ... did I just eat melted styrofoam?! Service: friendly and helpful. TL/DR: although employees are nice, I would stay away if you care about your health. read more

Visiting from CA and this BBQ place was DELICIOUS! the Alabama white sauce was so good on the wings. The ribs were so tender and flavorful. The meat fell off the bone. The Mac and cheese was a bit too soggy for my liking. The service was decent could be better. The wait for the waitress to take our order was a bit long. Took about 15 minutes after she sat us and we had to get her attention to finally order. She checked on us once. But we had to keep asking for napkins, more water etc... The ambiance was nice. The drinks were overpriced and tasteless. No real flavor. Very watery. Couldn't taste the liquor or the flavors of the drinks. Parking lot was nice. Not too hard to find a parking spot. The BBQ here alone is enough for me to come back. They had ran out of cornbread so they gave us garlic bread. It was ok. read more

My first time at Sonny's was a couple months ago and we loved it! The staff here is always sweet, and the building is clean and welcoming! The food is good, all the meat is cooked great, but my only complaint would be the mac and cheese! I love Mac so I am picky, it's solid just isn't creamy read more

Went to Sonny's and tried there BBQ. Ordered the Carolina sandwich and beans. The bun was well toasted, (any more, and it would be a huge crouton). The coleslaw on the sandwich was nothing special. The meat needed to be appropriately seasoned, you can get the fare they were offering from the local supermarket. Cleanliness, that's another story, menus were dirty, table was sticky and the place could use a good cleaning. Lesson learned, read the reviews before going here. read more

If you go to this Sonny's ask for Robyn. We had great service and she worked out a problem with our app so that we could get our free salmon donut holes. I love the new prime rib sandwich that comes with a horseradish sauce. read more

We went through drive through on our lunch break and decided to share a combo plate and a coke. Our total was $24. When we got to the window, we asked if she had accidentally charged us for 2 plates. No, she said. Just one. Okay, well, we thought for $24, we could have lunch and possibly some left over for later. When we got our food, there were 3 tiny, greasy pieces of meat and about 3 bites of each side item. Not even enough to fill a five year old child. I wish we would have taken a picture of how horrible this meal was. We went inside, got our money back and will never return. I will say though, the lady who was running drive thru was amazing. She gets 5 stars! read more

Excellent meal, the sliced pork sandwich is magnificent. Clean and inviting restaurant and the service was great

Stopped here tonight for supper. Sonny's are all the same, so I know what to expect when ordering from one location to the next. My son always orders the corn on the cob, which they no longer carry. We were bummed. We ordered our food, which came out rather quickly, but the food was rather underwhelming. No one's food was hot, only somewhat warm. The turkey was thick-sliced - it is supposed to be a thinner cut, and the fries were really salty, and I could not eat them. The waitress was very cordial, but I feel as though the kitchen was up-to-level at this particular location. read more

It makes me sad to write this review because we have been long-time Sonny's patrons, especially to this one restaurant, but this last visit has put us in a situation that we are probably not going to be eating here for awhile. We were seated promptly, per usual, and nothing seemed out of the norm. A table was vacated in the area we were seated in, and we noticed after some time that there was no one to bus that table off. We also noticed that we had not been greeted by our waitress, and in fact the tables around us had not been greeted or served either. One table had only ordered drinks, which they had been waiting on for a little while, and the other table had ordered food and drinks but had been waiting on their food for even longer than the first table. After about ten minutes, I tried to make contact with any waitress and when I did, she stomped over to the hostess and had a heated conversation with hand gestures towards our table, I can only assume she was complaining about having to serve our table when it may not have been her turn (?) which is strange because I feel like wait staff would have "a more the merrier" attitude, but whatever. So instead of her coming over to greet us after this heated conversation with the hostess, she stomps over to another waitress and continues her heated conversation with hand gestures towards us. Now, we aren't "regulars" at this Sonny's but we do go pretty often and did not recognize any of the staff but I don't think we look as if we are going to be painful customers! I was almost hurt by all the hand gestures towards us! At that point I asked my husband if we could please leave because I didn't want to stay and eat somewhere when the wait staff had to argue about who had to serve us. The part that really made me mad was when we walked past the hostess and told her we were leaving because nobody came to greet us, she acted as if this was the first she heard about it, even though I watched her get chewed out by a waitress about us being seated in her section. We were planning on having our Thanksgiving catered with Sonny's this year but we can safely say that we will be going in an alternate direction. read more

Amazing. Such good food. Can't deal with how friendly everyone is here. Would've taken a picture but we inhaled our food. I got dark meat half chicken and my hub got a pulled pork sandwich. Traveling from Chicago to Orlando and we made a good choice stopping here for a quick bite. read more

I've been going to various Sonny's locations for decades. Sonny's has some of the best baked beans of any BBQ restaurant I've visited, this location is no exception. Most BBQ restaurants really underwhelm in this area. I find the meat itself to be 3 star at this location. Not exceptional but pretty average. The chicken is often on the dry side. I love the ginormous drinking cups. Pretty awesome since you aren't always waiting on a server to come back for fill ups. They have good tea, both sweet and unsweetened. The servers I have gotten at this location have all been very nice. No complaints here. My last comment has to do with Sonny's overall, not this location in particular. The sauces. I find it crazy that my two favorite sauces are now only available in small packets. If you are looking for the old main sauce it is not the "original" located on your table, but you need to ask for "mild" sauce packets. They also have the mustard sauce, that used to be on the table, available in packets. I liked it better when it was on the table. It was a thinner consistency than it is now. This location has the newer Sonny's design which feels modern and clean. Will return. read more

poor service. We walked in at 4:25 pm, seated but never served. Got up and walked out at 4:42 pm since no one wanted to wait on us.

My server Kendall was amazing!!! We got our food and drinks very quickly. And our food was so good, I definitely will be returning!

I personally think that Sonny's has gone down hill over the past year. It is evident there has been a price increase. The lunch combo deals weren't that great and for a sandwich with a side/drink it cost me over $10.00 I believe. My side of macaroni was tiny and the bbq pork sandwich was just alright. Our waitress was friendly and brought out the food in a timely manner. Personally the price point for the amount of food was the big disappointment on this trip. Even the fries side seemed rather small in portion. read more

Food was ok For whatever reason, the waitress must of thought that I wronged her or her family in a previous life in enacted revenge via terrible customer service. No hello, no name, just what do you want and GONE. She handed the check as the food came out which is super rude and proceeded not to come back read more

I'm a pretty harsh BBQ critic. This was a stop en route between Orlando and St. Louis. General thoughts: -LOVED the sliced pork. Probably best part of the meal. My buddy crushed his smoked turkey sandwich. Party of 5 well satisfied - Service met standards. Prices are on par with BBQ establishments. -Portions won't be enough for some. - Staff needs to check on the restroom more often. This visit was a miss. Un-maintained, gross, and so slippery it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Other than that no gripes. read more

YUUUUUUUUUMY! I kept seeing signs for this all the way down I-75 and on my way back up forfeited welp let's see what this place who's pitmasters have been doing it up since 1968 have to offer. The answer is EVERYTHING they have everything to offer! I was driving so I ordered a brisket sandwich with fries and a drink to go. I shall return to sit and eat inside. Let's go from bad to good... My drink I ordered a Coke Zero and they gave me sweet tea - I don't really care for sweet tea I think it's too sweet! Well they got the recipe RIGHT! It was the best mistake ever it was delicious I had all of it and I want more! I grabbed a fry because well soggy fries suck and I was driving. Oh Em Gee - crinkle cut fries perfectly crispy and season delicious I devoured them and I want more! Now for the main attraction the Brisket Sandwich I AM IN LOVE WITH SONNY's MEAT (take that as you wish). This was some of the best brisket I've ever had. I took the first bite and the meat just melted in my mouth. It was so tender it was falling apart. The BBQ sauce was on the side and I didn't even use it. It was fatty and absolutely divine! I'm only sad that I didn't sit and enjOy this meal. I literally devoured it so quickly I didn't take a pick - I'm seriously praying that I find another one on my way so I can get some more everything! read more

Sonny's BBQ - Brisket platter with potato salad. - Barbeque Near Me - Valdosta, Georgia

I was driving home to Florida from Ohio and was craving some bbq. I saw the Sonny's billboards along the interstate and decided to stop in. I drove at least a mile and a half to find it. I parked and walked. Got seated promptly and the server came over to take my drink and food order. Food was served to the table in a good amount of time. I took off the sides off the plate and saw the amount of fries on the plate. I asked my server if this the right portion for the dinner plate, she replied, "I think they winged it." A little while later she did bring me some more fries. So I started eating my sliced pork. There was two slices of pork covering a pile of shredded pork. Disappointed, but but by that time I was so hungry I just ate it. The service was good, but the food portions was less to be desired. read more

I have been eating at one Arby's barbecue or another for the last 25 years, here in Valdosta Georgia though I noticed that the quality continued to decrease, today I spent $23 via DoorDash and I received the absolute worst food that I have ever eaten, it was dry it was old it was tasteless, my grandson could cook better ribs and better barbecue chicken that what I have wasted my money on today! I strongly discourage anyone wanting to eat to ever order delivery because if you are there in person you can return it, I had to throw mine away, awful, what a waste of money! read more

Geez. How slow for take out. 40 mins wait . I know its mothers day but 40 mins. Canceled and left.

What happened to Sonny's? I used to love to come here. Since the pandemic it's almost inedible so much fat I mean like whole pieces of fat that they definitely should have threw in the garbage but they put it on your plate instead. Dried up chicken, not to mention how they raise the prices on everything wow! That's really not a way to get repeat business. I meant she didn't even ask me if I wanted sliced or pulled she just threw a handful of sliced fat on my plate. Very disappointed I used to love the place, not to mention the drive-thru very convenient. Oh well read more
