The kindest, most customer service Waffle House I have ever been to. This place was over the top good and the service just made me want to hug every last single one of the employees. These people were so nice. There was a sense of unity no matter color, age, or sex. I mean when you walk in you're immediately greeted. They are the first Waffle House that had a greeter, or one that I noticed. The food is always amazing! It's simple, it's good, it's consistent! Love love love this location. I'm coming back and if I'm in the A, I'm driving all the way to this location. Seriously! Impressive! Kudos to the manager for hiring the best of the best!

1st time visit! And I am proudly sporting my WH hat that they awarded me.

Flew into The ATL recently where an old buddy lives, and our plan was to drive up to Nashville the very next morning. I had told him a Waffle House visit was on my must-do list as I had never been. Whenever we told anyone that we always received a most incredulous reaction. Kind of like if someone here in SoCal said they had never been to In-N-Out before. You know - 'you poor deprived child you!' Kinda like that. When we were getting ready to hit the road I suggested we get a head-start before stopping, and he strongly objected. "There is only one location that I go to, and it's just down the street.' Just as he reported, the staff here are incredibly sweet and accommodating. Especially after I blurted out that it was my first time. Apparently they detected my excitement and one of them went to the back and fetched me a WH paper hat. And no, you can't have it! I half expected them to take my picture as confetti fell from the ceiling. What I didn't expect was how good the food was. I guess I was anticipating your typical bland chain diner quality food like Denny's. No siree. My pecan waffle was flavorful, tons of pecans, slightly crunchy on the outer and cloud-soft on the interior. Not an expert on grits, but loved those as well. Another surprise was how small their stores are. All that I saw were free standing and about the size of a med-large donut shop. BTW, they are every-damn-where in this part of the country. It seemed like every other freeway sign announced a nearby location. I just looked it up and there are 2,100 in 25 states, 132 in ATL alone. And no, none in CA, nearest locations are in Arizona. One more bucket list line item crossed off.

As I was preparing my coffee, the customer behind me--who appeared to be of the same race as the cashier--also ordered an orange juice. At that point, the cashier stepped over, retrieved the juice herself, and announced, "That's the last orange juice." I immediately stated that I had already been sold an orange juice and asked what I was expected to receive. I was then told I could have apple or cranberry juice instead. This interaction left me confused and concerned, as the only apparent difference between how the two transactions were handled was race. Regardless of intent, the situation gave the clear impression that I was treated differently based on skin color. Experiences like this are unacceptable and deeply troubling. All customers deserve equal and respectful treatment. If you are tired of racism in any way shape or form stand up and do not support this. Not only do they have the bar food things you think of, but they have some of their own twists on favorites as well! To be fully transparent, I am the type of person to say "it's just good bar food" about most places, BUT the quality of this food is just different. Everything they do at Hudson Grille feels intentional and fun. Me and my family have been coming here every month for the past 10 years. One of my favorite things is how consistent I can expect their food to be. Here's a couple of my favorite foods: The chicken tenders are huge, crispy, and saucy (when you toss them in your favorite wing sauce). A wing sauce that I would recommend is the "Lemon-Yaki". It's a sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce wing with lemon pepper seasoning. I wish every other wing place had this combination! If you want something a little more spicy, but also packed with flavor, the "Sriracha Bourbon" sauce is a perfect balance. Another big unique stand-out item that I can't seem to stay away from is the sweet potato waffle fries with marshmallow dipping sauce... YUM! They are so addicting. In the 10 years of going here, the service has rarely ever fallen short. They excel in communication, patience, and personalization.

The children's options are a great value if you have a little one. My only concern is that when we went in on our first go, I know that I ordered French toast for my child. When the waitress brought out our food, my child had pancakes. When I brought the error to her attention, she seemed rather quick to say I was wrong about this. I let it slide because we're not going to have a giant argument in a restaurant with wait staff over a small infraction like this. I get the feeling that our waitress may have an issue with accountability and would've continued to argue had I not given her an easy way out and said "It's ok, we will settle for this. Don't worry about it." She responded by offering to bring out some French toast anyway, which was kind, but flat out telling your customers that they're wrong is maybe not the best way to go about this to have a healthy, trusting relationship. My husband even confirmed that I had ordered what I said I ordered afterward. Maybe some staff training regarding approaching situations like this would be appreciated, such as having wait staff confirm orders once the entire table has started their orders prior to transferring orders to the kitchen would help eliminate this issue. Please know that we did return the next day because the food was great and they got our order correct the next morning. Yay!

The establishment is very clean and seems to pass majority, if not, all health and safety requirements. The restaurant is in a plaza, so, there is plenty of parking that is convenient for you. I believe the hours are only until 2pm, and, they tend to bring in a large crowd. Therefore, I advise planning on getting here no later than 12:30, so you have an ample amount of time to be seated and enjoy your food Speaking of food, I would say, for the most part, our dishes were delicious. As I said, the food is fresh so you walk away not feeling overstuffed if you wish to indulge in a lot of food (which I recommend ) The only feedback I have is the Carne Asada tacos lacked a little flavor. Not the entire taco as a whole, but the meat itself- I was able to tell when I tried this dish. I am, shower, very particular with my Carne Asada you have to put the perfect amount of seasoning and the right kind of seasoning along with cooking it a certain way to get a good asada. The bun was good, but the burger patties themselves were far too plump, lacked bounce, had no caramelization in the edges and were not juicy on the inside. It tasted like a burger you'd find at your neighbor's backyard BBQ with a general lack of flavor and course texture like the lean to fat ratio was off and the burger was cooked on too low a temperature. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly. Unfortunately, the burger was a let down and extremely overpriced.
