As a family, we decided to get some lunch before heading home. The restaurant was busy but greeted at the door with a friendly smile from a staff member. We were invited to pick any open table before our server arrived. Suzy quickly introduced herself and took our order. Suzy was friendly and helpful. Can't say enough on you namesake dish- the WAFFLES were great. They were soft yet held a little crunch. The waffles had a hint of vanilla flavor which was on point! 1 waffle is enough for one person maybe enough to share, if u want to be nice. My son fell in love with the hashbrowns. They were hot,had a crispy outside and soft inside. A back to basics cup of coffee is what this diner served- hot and not too strong. 2nd time here-service was quick and efficient- we both had the T-bone steak and eggs and I had a waffle on the side. We ordered medium rare which can be a crap shoot in diners and in thin steaks. That said, one was rare in places and the other one medium. The steaks was under seasoned - The grits were good-so the primary reason for the lower stars is the waffle which really should be a 1 star. . I don't know if they over beat it but no crisp and very dense. If the food item is in the name, it better be good! read more

I had a very disappointing experience today at Waffle House. I placed a simple to-go order, and the employee taking my order had a very rude and dismissive attitude from the start. What really concerned me, though, was the food safety. While my order was being prepared, the cook was wearing gloves but used the same glove to pick up a dirty rag or sponge and wipe down a dirty area near the grill. He was even waving the rag around near the empty container that my waffle was about to be placed in. Without changing gloves or washing his hands, he then used that same glove to pick up my waffle and put it into the container. That is extremely unsanitary and completely unacceptable when preparing food. Basic hygiene standards should always be followed, especially when customers are watching their food being prepared. Between the rude service and the unsanitary food handling, this was a very unpleasant experience. I hope management addresses these issues because customers deserve better. read more

Almost everyday I wake up and I think about Waffle House LOL. I'm not originally from Texas and we don't have a location back home but I understand the hype. It's your typical diner, they offer breakfast items and other lunch items as well. I've only ventured out to the lunch menu a few times and their chili is really good! I'm not a huge fan of chili but this is probably the only place I'd get it from. My fiancé usually orders the breakfast sandwich and I just go for my usual egg white scramble. You can add toppings into your scramble like ham, mushrooms, tomato, etc. I love that they also offer sugar free syrup. We also share a waffle and it hits every single time. There's sometimes a wait especially during lunch time but it usually moves fast. There are booth seats and counter top seating. You get to see the action in the kitchen. Service here has always been amazing since the first visit. Our servers and the staff are always so kind, fun, sweet, and accommodating! Jackie is usually our server and she's the best. I love it when staff members are so personable. I feel like it makes the experience so much better. She always remembers my order and I think she's just very sweet. Dined in. Food was hot. Taste was ok. But what annoyed me was the waitress gave us plastic utensils despite eating in the restaurant. When she asked if there was anything else we needed - I said "utensils". She advised that because she was the only one there - when they are busy - she gives customers plastic utensils because it's easier. Not great. Not terrible. Our hostess was a real sweetie. I could tell she was "done" for the day but she was still so accommodating and welcoming. She was totally fine with our substitutions and changes and requests and worked the room as well as a Waffle Houser could. Coffee is straight up not good, but why should I expect it to be? Waffles are always perfect - I get them with pecans. Bacon wasn't as great as it's been in the past, that's for sure. But everything else was yummy! You have your basic breakfast options, such as waffles (flavors: regular, chocolate chip, and blueberry), hash browns, breakfast bowls, and sandwiches. I usually opt for the blueberry waffle. This review is in regard to the Waffle House app. The app is not user-friendly. It does not allow you to customize your order. Everybody just doesn't want what you order on the menu. You should be able to select customizations you can't even call and talk to anyone about it. This is totally unacceptable. This doesn't help your business. It hurts it.!!!.. moving on to another breakfast business that does allow a user-friendly app!!!! I also ordered the two egg breakfast. I called 4 times when I was right in the Walmart next door. The last time i called someone picked up and hung up. I get there and they are not even busy. The cashier was busy having personal conversation. No one greeted me and when I asked about them not answering the phone she said "I didn't hear the phone". All 7 employees didn't hear the phone when some are just sitting around? I then decided to call twice while in the restaurant and I could hear the phone clearly. Nobody answered. More people started calling and they finally answered. Also, if you're a cashier without gloves you should NOT turn around and handle food without putting gloves on first. Service was horrible waited for over 30 mins and never got a drink. There were only 2 other customers in the restaurant. When I asked the waitress she said she forgot and we could leave. My family visits this location twice a week and spends over $50 dollars each meal plus tip. I do not understand how they can allow employees to treat repeat customers this way. Never been before but I'll go again. It was a perfect place to go for a bite after seeing AEW in Houston. The food came out fast. Everything was done well and most importantly tasted good. Comfort food. Come for a late breakfast/brunch and there won't be a wait. Before you visit, know what you are getting into. WH is a small diner, and is generally always busy. When you come in, if there is not a line, you will be told to sit wherever you wish. The table may not be cleared yet, so be patient. A waitress will come over to take your order and leave the order slip on your table. After you eat, take the slip to the register. Quick and easy. No hairnets or food prep gloves. If this bothers you, don't eat at WH. The All-Star breakfast with a pecan waffle is the best. I like the grits and city ham as sides. The sausage is also very good. The bacon is thin-sliced and is ok. I could do without the toast, but the white toast tastes better than the wheat. The All-Star packs about 1200 calories in a meal, so just skip the toast and call it brunch...or halve-it. I see other reviews where people are complaining about salads and biscuits and gravy. If you want salad, go to the nearby Souper Salad. I you want biscuits and gravy, to Cracker Barrel...only a few miles away. Stick with the All-Star at WH. I can't stop thinking about that delicious pecan waffle. On our last visit, my wife had a peanut butter waffle and enjoyed it. My daughter prefers the plain, buttermilk waffle. I do want to try the hash browns with toppings on my next visit as mentioned in other Yelp reviews. The food is quick and the service has always been good at the Fry location. If you ever travel to the east coast on I-10, you will pass a WH every few miles or so. read more
