As a frequent visitor to this area of Virginia (as we have family here,) we often come to Waffle House for breakfast. This Waffle House #1362 on boulevard in colonial heights is by far the best one ever. The staff is on point, soooo nice and friendly. During these uncertain times they took every measure to keep us safe. All wearing masks and gloves. Cook changed his gloves constantly!!!! Seating was at half capacity. I did it. I tried the Waffle House. It wasn't my decision but I went with it expecting the worst and hoping for a pleasant surprise. The star is for the staff, they are very friendly, helpful and on top of everything. But, the saying "you get what you pay for" has never rung so true. The food was cheap, it wasn't good. And that's when I looked around and took notice of the dirty floor, the stained ceiling tiles, well at least the ones that were still in place. read more

We came into the restaurant and there was one table with customers. The waitress behind the counter told us to sit anywhere. When she came to our table she told us they were out of ice when we asked to order drinks. We ordered a coffee and a water and said we were ready to order the meal. She said that they had to clean the grill first and that we could not order until this was done!! The waitress brought us a lukewarm water and a room temp coffee. The cook was back there and never cleaned the grill but was cooking something. Never cleaned anything. Our waitress was standing there looking at her phone the whole time. After waiting 10 min, We finally got up and left. We told them we left enough money for the coffee on the table. They said ok! This place is RI-DIC-U-LOUS!! read more

I hadn't had Waffle House in about 5 years, and the last time was medicore at best. This time was completely different and how I remember it as a kid. Food was perfect, servers were pleasant and courteous. I'll be back before I leave town. read more

Friendly staff!! Our server was excellent, attentive and provided us and everyone that she helped with stellar assistance. She (I don't have her name unfortunately) was quick, and accurate on the food orders - zero issues. My socks weren't blown off, yes I know I was at Waffle House, but something was just missing with the quality/temperature of the food. The service is okay, the staff is friendly. It's a diner where they sling eggs and hash! It's going to be loud when they cook your food right in front of you. I think it makes things more interesting and helps keep the staff honest. The food is made to order and it comes out fresh and hot. The staff and it's customers are very diverse. If you aren't concerned about people wearing mask then this is the place for you. Out of the 4 people they had working 3 had the mask on their chins and the cook no mask at all. Food is Waffle House food. Staff is ok. Other than that I ask the staff member to cover her mouth with the mask while she waited on me and she frowned but did it. read more

I came in the door and there were 5 employees. I came to the register to place a to-go order and no one acknowledged me. I stood there for about 7 minutes. I finally spoke and said "I've been standing here for a few minutes now and not one of you has greeted me or asked to take my order. They apologized. I ordered a texas bacon cheese steak melt and waffle. Michelle rung me up and advised that she didn't hear me add my waffle. I then had to reswipe my card a second time. We visited this location last night around 7:15. There were a few tables occupied. No one spoke as we tried to find a clean area to sit. There were dirty dishes stacked in every vacate spot. We left with no food and again, no one ever even acknowledged we were there. Oh, and same situation at the Hopewell location. We tried both. They were definitely a big FAIL. read more

2 stars in stead of one because of the 2 gentlemen that were concerned. However, it took an hour for my take out order. They basically had to ask what I ordered and re tell the crew to make it. There was also and older maybe 50 year old lady working there that got an attitude when I asked for my receipt, she said what for??!!! Absolutely atrocious visit to Waffle House this morning! It all started first off, we get to our table and there was dirty dishes all over it. Then I asked for my order to have some chocolate milk and they said they don't have any. I also wanted hash browns with chili in them and cheese. When my food got there, my burger was soggy and my hash browns were bare as the desert!! My waffle was undercooked and they seated us in a terrible location. To top off my anger, their restroom toilet did not work and they charged us $30 for subpar, greased up food! Never again. read more

Waffle House is what it is. A place to go and sit down, get a decent plate of food for a good price. Eggs 'N Cheese done perfectly. Raisen toast is always a good option. The service was prompt and friendly. My credit card declined multiple times and the manager or someone on staff took care of the bill. However, of course I had money so I used another card not sure who paid for it but I was thankful for the offer none the less. I went out tonight with my fiancé as me and her had a rough work week and at the end of our night we decided to go to this Waffle House to grab some food to go before we went home since we live a couple streets over. Now since you know we live close you should know that we always come to this Waffle House and even though the service isn't always up to par we always choose this place. Well tonight as soon as we'll pulled up to the store the waitress was in her car smoking and jumped out her car and yelled at us "we ain't serving you cause we gotta clean." Hen he d that I looked inside and saw there was 2 dirty tables with about 5 employees in the store sitting around doing nothing. I asked her can we just get Togo since that's what we came here for? Cause we always call to order to go but the employees unplugged the phone so you can't call in orders. She then got a bigger attitude with me and said " WHAT YOU MEAN ORDER TO GO YOU AINT GETTING SERVED" me confused sat outside with a cook that was taking a break even said that's messed up . He then said I should asked the manager so I walked inside after I was already getting trash talked through the window from other employees and that waitress that had the most unprofessional attitude. I asked the manager why we couldn't just order to go and he told me "if you have a problem reading the sign on the door I will show you. It was just a COVID-19 sign saying that they might be under staffed and to be patient. There was 3 customers with about 7 employees... I have never been treated like this at any restaurant in my life. And the fact I was getting threatened towards the end of the conversations I may even consider contacting my lawyer about this cause this is uncalled for. read more

While the food was okay, waffle and sausage, the store was so dirty that I wish I had noticed it when I first walked in t 430AM. Only one couple there when I walked in yet every table was still dirty with dishes and food from other customers. One table had only a small amount of stuff still on it so I sat there. Waited around 45 mins to order , finally ordered. Orange juice was watered down a lot asked for a glass of water THEY NEVER BROUGHT IT, never brought us our check finally decided to stop waiting around so we walked up to pay and they over charged us. I enjoyed Wafflr House. I had scrambled eggs and raisin bread toast. And a cup of black coffee. It was morning and a cup of black coffee always wakes me up all the way. It was a nice place and the food was so good. The waitresses were nice and quite pleasant also. read more

As someone in customer service you tend to acquire certain skills to help retain happy customers. This is not what this place has done. It has horrible customer service and a appalling checkout routine. No matter what I have order, it isn't correct and the prices change between orders somehow. For the same order every time I get a different total. I nor my colleagues or associates will return to this location until they get everything together. read more
