Despite 12 people on staff, always seems to take a long time to get food to table. Typically very greasy, even by WH standards.

After 8 years an update! I met up with Michelle and her…read moresister Sherri for a Saturday evening dinner. They got there before me and got a table in the main dining room. When I got there just about 6p, the place was packed and it was LOUD! There was no way we were having a conversation there. We asked for a table on the patio and were quickly switched to much nicer accommodations at a 4 top, open air but covered patio with multiple wide screen HDTV's and one dedicated to MTV music. Our server was a young man named Ean who took good care of us. He knew the menu well and gave us a great overview of the specials. I had the Mahi tacos on flour tortilla with tasty mango sauce. Michelle had the grilled chicken salad and Sherri had the chicken wrap. We all agreed the food was good but there was a problem with a cocktail that Sherri ordered and she had to send it back TWICE. There was NO carbonation in the soda so she ended up with an Old Fashion. This place is VERY busy and extremely popular, especially on a Saturday evening. You WILL BE CHALLENGED to find a parking spot, get there early.

Ordered a grilled Caesar salad with blackened chicken. The romaine itself was grilled. Very unique flavor. Disappointed that the chicken was not blackened. Also, not much chicken. But it was still very good. Service was attentive, fast and friendly. Solid spot in Lake Wylie.

We came here by chance because Poppa Docs was too crowded and I'm so glad we ended up here instead…read morebecause I think it's better!! This place was outstanding and the service was so kind and attentive! Don't get me started on the food and drinks.. I highly recommend the alcoholic Arnold Palmer-- it was the best drink I ever had. The cherry lemon drink was really good too. We got the Buffalo Chicken dip starter and it was just like my mom used to make. We also got chicken wings, which came in a huge variety of sauces and dry rubs. The waitress recommended the Buffalo chips as our side (they're a secret item you can get off menu!!) and it was my favorite thing we got. PLEASE add to the menu because they were a home run. They're potatoes but they're cut the same way they do pickle chips (like a wavy cut so they get super crispy) and then deep fried. Boy howdy, they were THE BEST potatoes I have ever eaten. The place was cute and clean and it's supposedly connected to an indoor golf place that I wish we would've popped in and looked at. We are huge fans and we will be back asap!

Decided to try somewhere new in the area and Sweetwater did not disappoint! Things I loved:…read more - Great menu, something for everyone - Excellent craft beer selection and fair prices - Happy hour (Mon-Fri 4-7pm) - Some of the best boneless wings I've had in a while - Unique sauces - Big portions - Tons of TVs (great spot to watch your favorite game) - Friendly and efficient staff - Lots of seating Only woe is parking which I imagine gets tricky during very busy times. Plan ahead. Love this spot though, will be back to try more food items.

During the middle of the week I decided to try a newer restaurant I hadn't been too for my birthday…read moredinner! I had been hearing good things about Firebirds in Fort Mill and as this was my special birthday meal I felt this might be the place to go. We arrived a little after 4 on a Wednesday evening. You can see from my pictures that the decor was very warm and cozy. There were tables, booths and combo bench/tables. Also there was a large bar you could sit at and enjoy the atmosphere. Our waitress was super friendly and was very attentive to our table. She answered our questions we had like about the Ranch Rings. Turns out it's just a side of ranch you can did the rings in. She also offered us some bread for the table which we never turn down. It was warm and the whipped butter was soft and easy to spread! The Rings were amazing! Very crispy and fully cooked. You didn't get that onion pulling out of the coating that I hate. And there was so many of them that three of us split this very easily! For my dinner I was going all in with the Surf N Turf. A 9oz bacon wrapped filet with a half pound lobster tail! I also got the seasoned steak fries for my side. Again the waitress was great asking what extras I needed with my meal, i.e. ketchup, melted butter, steak sauce etc. For the most part my meal was excellent. The fries were crisp on the outside but had a good fluffy potato on the inside. The lobster was presented outside the tail and was easy to remove and then slice up to be dipped in the butter. The bacon around the filet was fully cooked and not rubbery at all! But it looked like they had cut into the filet to check the temp. I did as for it to me Medium and it was probably a touch over but there was some pink inside so it was ok. Overall it was good but I didn't have that eyes rolling back in your head OMG YUM moment. My parents both decided to try their three course meal. You get a starter, an entree and a dessert for a reasonable price. Both my parents chose the mixed greens salad for their starter. They both enjoyed it and was surprised by the size of it expecting to get smaller portions with this three course meal deal. Again they were surprised when their entrée's arrived. A full rack of ribs and a large grilled sirloin steak was presented to them. Dad very much enjoyed his parmesan mashed potatoes before attacking the ribs. Mom asked for her steak to be medium well but it looked well done instead but it was fine for her. Unfortunately her mashed potatoes arrived cold. Our waitress was on it and brought a side of piping hot mashed potatoes for her very quickly. For dessert mom got the bread pudding which came with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and side of caramel sauce. Dad got the creme Brulee petite cheesecakes. I swiped the ice cream from mom as she didn't want it and poured some of what tasted like house made caramel sauce over it. It was delicious! By the time we were leaving over 90 minutes later the restaurant was getting quite full. The food and service was all very good. It's not the type of place I'm gonna come to every week but for those special nights out when you want a cozy place to relax and have a good meal, this is the spot!

We were seated quickly. Our server Kianna introduced herself and gave us the lay of the land. She described and recommended the signature cocktail. It was a pineapple drink that was both fragrant, tasty and refreshing. We ordered bacon deviled eggs and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls for appetizers. I had a delicious NY Strip cooked medium and an extraordinary salad with a citrus and lime vinaigrette. We were served hot bread right out the oven. Our server was attentive and anticipated our needs. There were other celebrations around us and this is a classy, warm and welcoming place to enjoy and make a special memory. I highly recommend Firebirds Wood Fire Grill in Fort Mill.

TLDR version: Food was good, staff was friendly and engaging, ambience was fairly loud for dinner,…read moreprice was on par. Full review: My wife and I went for dinner, which was good, but I think this place fares better as a local bar/drinking establishment. We went on a Friday evening and were able to sit down at a table right away. There aren't very many tables here so just be aware if you're headed in for dining. We were greeted fairly promptly (by a woman later noted to be a bartender) to take our drink order and were told that another server would be along to take our food order. She returned with our drinks in a comfortably timely fashion and ended up taking our food order directly pretty shortly thereafter following some seemingly sincere feedback on some of the menu item questions posed by us. That was the last we saw of her though continued service from her seems like it would have been pleasant. Our food came out in a reasonable turnaround time, and the food runner was a good engagement and was genuine about asking if we needed anything further at the moment, which we did not. I had the Black Flag Chicken Wrap with street corn as a side and my wife had the Black Flag Bowl. Both meals were good serving sizes and tasty. That said, we depleted our initial drinks about midway through the meal and had to wait a bit longer than I would've liked for refill needs to be identified by staff. Eventually the server that was originally identified to have presumptively taken our order popped by the table and grabbed us our wanted refills promptly before eventually brining our check when we were done. The music was very loud which, as mentioned at the top of the review, is befitting for a bar/drinking visit but was a bit much for dinner. Additionally, we were seated very close to the pool tables and there was a group playing on one of them that was excessively loud. The combination made dinner conversation nearly impossible. Overall, we were glad to have visited and will likely return with a better understanding of the mood/vibe before we head there.
