This place is only for the locals. Jaycee, the cook, burned the meat in my omelette and hash browns. Instead of fixing new meat, the burnt ones were covered with cheese or egg. I would have complained or returned it but since she's pregnant I decided just to go with the flow. Burned meat don't add positively to the dining experience. read more

As far as the restaurant it's the average Waffle House. This morning they must have just finished a rush and there were about 3 tables available but not yet cleaned. We sat at one that the dishes were clear but not wiped yet. Our waiter Nate come over and chewed us for sitting at the table before it was wiped. Now my impression of mask wearing Nate is that he may be a Germaphobic but sitting a a dirty table until it is wiped is not a concern of mine. Thanks Nate for the warm welcome. read more

To continue, The food didn't redeem the poor service. Scrambled eggs had shells in them. Sunny side eggs whites not cooked...clear and completely runny whites. The waffle underfund and not even warm enough to melt butter. Bacon... One piece burnt... Second piece almost raw... Third piece looked and tasted like it was cooked a week ago. I went in this morning for breakfast and heard my waitress make the statement she didn't have to be back till the weekend if then. We all have bad days but to argue with another employee while the customer is waiting for their food to be prepared ? This went on for at least 5 minutes before a woman came out to take inventory I guess. If she was the manager, she NEVER did anything about this and they continued to argue as I left the establishment. And the young gentleman that told me I owed nothing for my coke, was embarrassed. He offered to make it to go, but i declined. I just wanted out of the restaurant. It was noisy as they were talking loudly over one another. read more

Bad service, bad food, bad comfort level in restaurant with cold air blowing hard down on us. Waitress brought my chili out as soon as I ordered it. I was done eating before my mom's food even arrived. My chili sure tasted like canned Hormel to me. The waffle was the most pitiful thing I'd ever seen. It was flat like a thin pancake and served luke warm. Waitress never came back to refill my drink or check on us The employees stood around chatting and were inattentive to the customers. Only my second time at one of these but my first time actually trying food. I have to say it was great. The food choices, for breakfast, were actually very good. We were a party of four and one was a child. The waitress took the time to help us order our food in such a way that was economical for use while still meeting everyone's needs. It was very appreciated and both my wife and I were highly impressed. The food itself was plentiful and good. I do believe it's hard to get breakfast wrong, but you never know with some places. At least here they certainly know how to do it correctly all the way around. read more

I've been to hundreds of waffle houses in my lifetime. I've never seen a crew hustle more than this team I watched this morning. Although they worked with lightning speed and the precision of a NASCAR pit crew - they always had a smile and a friendly comment to share. Just passing through with my family on spring break. Waffle House is a classic place for us to eat so of course we stopped for dinner. Horrible, horrible service, and BUGS on our table! We weren't greeted nor given seats. We took the only available seats, only to find black ants crawling all over the table, and a small spider. Horribly unsanitary! We asked the waitress to move us so we moved. Coffee wasn't fresh. Very stout. My grits were cold and had too much butter, cooked poorly. At least the Egg and Cheese Melt was good. I don't recommend this place. If I lived here, I wouldn't be back. read more

We went here to eat because of the high reviews. I guess we caught them on an off night. It took a server almost 5 minutes to acknowledge us after we sat down. She took our orders. My hubby got Steak and eggs, I got a pecan waffle and hash browns with onion, jalapeño, and cheese. We both had coffee. I had to wait on mine because it was decaf. No problem waiting for fresh coffee! The first food to arrive was my hash browns. In one part of it was a slightly melted piece of cheese. It was lukewarm and the onions and jalapeños were ice cold. Then came my waffle. I had to catch our server to request butter which turned out to be a pack of some type of soybean spread. The waffle at least was warmer and was pretty good. Eventually my husband's good arrived. The medium rare steak was about half the size of their pictures and overcooked. We were tired and hungry and not in the mood to wait for more food so we ate it. The server then came back and said that my husband's food came with a salad?? and did he want it. He told her no so she asked if he wanted more hash browns instead. Tyler, the cook was perfect! However, the (Abrianna..can't remember )lazy waitress who sighed several times while taking my order as if I was an inconvenience to her severely pissed me off! 1. I should not have to wipe my own tables before eating. 2. I should not have to go get my own straw for my drinks. 3. PLEASE REMOVE the dirty dishes off the table so I do not have to look at them while I eat...this was from the previous customer, not mine. 4...Last but not least, YOU drowned my hash browns with gravy & chili to the point they were no longer hash browns!! Small and a bit cramped, but that goes with the territory for a Waffle House. Just had breakfast there, returning again for one of my numerous visits. Sometimes a bit of a wait to be seated but this time it wasn't too bad for a Saturday morning. Without exception, always a very attentive and hardworking wait staff. And the kitchen is one of the best I have seen at pushing out the breakfast fare in rapid fire fashion. Your food will come out very quickly. Breakfast is breakfast and they do a great job of not screwing it up and making sure it is tasty and visually appealing as well. I have to say that the amount of food you get there with the sides generally takes up the whole table. With a table of four sometimes there is almost no place to put the food. In sum, great breakfast at a great price served up with Southern hospitality. And Chipley is one of those many small towns in the Florida panhandle with a deep Southern tradition that few in South Florida have any clue exists. I typically have to find a reason to rate a franchise above average and this one provides a reason by distinguishing itself with great personal service and food. read more

I recently called Waffle House in Chipley, Florida to place a take out order, the first call they didn't answer. The second call a lady answered and stated "I'm to busy to take your order" and hung the phone up. I've worked with the public for many years, and I do understand the feeling of getting a crowd or rush all at once. But You don't communicate at a place of business like. There were other options for answering the phone. I don't recommend anyone eating at a place like that. read more
