The wait was too long. We (me and husband) ordered a BLT and it was about a 40 minute wait. The entire restaurant was waiting for their food. The servers seemed to be efficient but no food was coming out of the kitchen. When we did get our sandwiches they were good and the fries were good. The restaurant was pretty clean. Hard to find a parking place, we getting seated and been waiting for 45 minutes till our food came. Our waitress was giving attitude, the turkey plate that was served to us barely had any turkey. Decent restaurant in the downtown of Bonifay. It has the selection of American or southern food. This is the most popular restaurant for lunch time since many nearby residents came to enjoy their meal here. Restaurant is open space seating. I got my pork chop for under $10. It come with two chop and a side. The side is fried okra and the waitress was nice for her substitute from french fries. I have ask for the pork chop for crispy and overcook a little to make a bit burn end. The got the order correctly. The fried okra is a bit too crispy. I think this one is over cook. Overall the service is good. Bathroom need to be cleaner. read more

Friendly staff, but nothing special about this place. Small town restaurant, one of the larger ones in town, but it's just an average run of the mill place. Food was average, decor was average, service was average....... just an average place, so if you're hungry and need to eat, you can't go wrong, but if you're looking for an experience that warrants not cooking yourself, this may not be the best choice. My wife actually told me she would have rather stayed home and cooked herself, because her food was better. We had breakfast, I haven't tried any other meals here yet. Hopefully they have offer a better experience with Lunch or Dinner. read more

Weary from 12 hours on the road, we actually arrived at closing time! We didn't know as the hours were not posted on the door and there was quite a crowd in there. However, 2 minutes after we chose a seat I saw the open sign go off. The staff never once mentioned that they were closed or rushed us or any of the other patrons in any way. This review has to put focus on that aspect to some degree because you just don't see that very often. There was some serious southern hospitality at play here and I noticed many of the patrons were treated like family. Our primary server had a great sense of humor and was very engaged. The other young woman who checked on us was very polite and friendly. The gentleman who rang us out at the register was very kind. Our drinks remained full, our food came out quickly and we were given suggestions. In the 35 minutes we were there, everything I saw in atmosphere and service was an A+! They also had the best sweet tea, I could drink that stuff by the gallon, so good! As far as food goes, I would describe this as country cooking and comfort food and say it was average or a little higher. Average doesn't have to mean something bad, just that it meets the expectation of a type of food, but wasn't outstanding. My husband got a cheeseburger and I got the hamburger steak. We both got fries and they were awesomely crispy, but under seasoned. My husband enjoyed his burger and finished all of it. I had chosen the hamburger steak because I didn't think I had the appetite for a big ribeye. Well, this thing was huge! Overall, it was pretty flavorful, but some of it was way too salty. Some of that should have been held back for the fries. It normally comes with gravy and onions which I got on the side. I found the gravy to look really unappetizing so I didn't eat it, but I also didn't think the hamburger steak needed it. I really enjoyed my salad because their homemade ranch is outstandingly creamy and tasty, yum! Get ranch here whenever you can! Also, this was a ton of food for $9.99 so you can't argue with the price or the portions. It was a solid visit, we left nourished and rejuvenated and it was the highlight of our stay in Bonifay. Went into this restaurant because the kids were hungry and we are traveling From California and this was close to the gas station. Ordered 2 hamburgers and chicken strips. I'm not much of a hamburger person but I was in a hurry. Omg that hamburger was so good, it's not one of those frozen patties, it was home made. The kids also really liked the chicken. My picky 8 year old looked at it and said it looked yummy and ate most of it. They did well with it they also accommodate my dairy allergy. I appreciate them. read more

Probably rating this little cafe higher than normal because it is located in the middle of nowhere-backwoods north Fl and there are few places to eat here. It's a new building with very friendly staff and not what I would expect in Bonifay. Most places around the 1/4 mile city are run down and old. They are known for hand made hamburgers, fresh jumbo shrimps and steaks. I ate the hamburger and it was ok. Nothing fantastic, but hand pattied vs frozen bubba burger is always a plus. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. French fries were average. Jumbo shrimp plate was hearty but lacked any real flavour to the shrimp. The baked potatoes were cooked well and tasted good. Hush puppies were yummy. Desert choices were cheesecake or coconut pie. We got both. Both were good. Pics posted. Ranch is homemade as well. From scratch is always the best. read more

We showed up about an hour or so to closing, these folks welcomed us in. We were treated like family. The food was on point!! My husband and I ordered the shrimp with the baked potatoes. It was delicious!!! Our daughter ordered the grilled cheese with fries and she ate every bit. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We definitely will be back!! read more

This place was the best Sunday dinner for lunch. We had fried chicken, turnip greens, rice and gravy and fried okra- then they brought chocolate and coconut cream pie. Everything was delicious and hot. Will be coming back again when we're in town or passing thru. read more

We were pleasantly surprised to find this little cafe. Burger and chicken sandwich were home style and fresh. Hand cut fries were amazing and worth the trip off of the highway! The daily specials looked amazing, but we would have needed a nap after...home cooked turnip greens, baked chicken, etc etc for under $10 with drink and dessert. Would definitely return. Locals love this place. However just plain food to me. Their spaghetti is a special the night I went and it tasted like manwich canned meat. If your older and can have flavor this is your place. If you like flavor I would stay away not that great. read more

I can see how this is a great place for locals because they were definitely taken care of long before we were. We came in with a family of 4, there were 3 other tables with only couples at them. So I can understand why their orders were out before ours was. But they also finished their food and left before we even got ours. And by the time we got our food, there were new couples sitting at those same tables. My friend waited for 10 minutes for a refill on his drink and wouldn't have gotten it if I wouldn't have taken the empty cup to our waitress who was sitting at a table on her phone. When she finally got our food out to us she proceeded to tell us that she had taken a large order over the phone. I have been a cook before, and I've worked in customer service since I was 16, So I understand how stressful it can be when large orders come in. But I have always taken care of the customer in front of me BEFORE I start that large order. Anyways, I do not recommend. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the food was edible. read more

Slow service. Horrible steaks. I hear their lunch special is good, but, forget dinner, it was terrible.

It was honestly a joke. Brought out French toast without syrup. Brought out the omelette without the toast that came with it. No napkins. Then when asked to bring it, they brought the syrup about 10 minutes later after giving menus to two separate parties. Owner did apologize and gave us a discount. The omelet was good. Our waitress was awful with a decent attitude but the other waitress there was rude and put off when we asked her for something. Wish we wouldn't of drove out of our way to eat there. read more

Been eating off & on at the restaurant and whenever my grandpa & grandma want to eat out there. The service is only slow depending on how many people are present, and the food is alright and can be excellent depending upon your hunger. The lunch specials are sometimes too good to be true. The best times to go there are usually an hour after breakfast & lunch rush hour. The dinner service usually start at about 3 PM (schools out by then). read more
