Everything was okay, except my bacon. I can't eat rubbery bacon. I ordered it crisp, but it was rubbery. I took it to go, so I could microwave the heck out of it. I'm a fan of the Waffle House chain, I find it very comforting and nostalgic. This location has the same food you have come to expect, but the service did have some hiccups. The location was very convenient right off the highway and it shares the lot with a hotel and gas station. This one was a bit tight on the seating. On a Friday morning all the tables were taken, but we got two of the four remaining stools available. I don't prefer stools because I'm short and my legs dangle, lol, but they were cushioned and comfortable. All of my food was solid- delicious orange juice, perfect hash browns, decent bacon and my favorite, a peanut butter waffle. I love their crispy edged waffles and how the peanut butter melts! The husband devoured his food, so no complaints there. There was a wait, but it was reasonable with the crowd and the kitchen was hustling. For me, I've come to expect really friendly and personable servers from Waffle House. The staff was polite, but we saw our server when she took our orders, brought our drinks and brought the check. Someone else delivered our food and we had to wait ten minutes after finishing our meal to get our check. There was some internal drama going on in the staff, specifically between one of the servers and a manager, in front of the customers. It wasn't out of line or crazy, but it was unprofessional. Every work place has it's problems, but keep it away from your customers. I don't need to see you copping an attitude with your manager or scheming or insubordination. Drama ruins my appetite. Just give me my waffles and it'll be okay. read more

Waffle House has developed into a cultural icon. Part of their fame is that they are so prominent along Interstate highways in the South. If you're from the east coast think: 24 hour dinner with a fast food feel. If you're from the west in a gaming town think: casino coffee shop. Day 3 on the road. This had a real local feel with a few old men camping out in the front booth saying "Hi" to everyone. We got a good morning...there was no doubt we were from out of town but we were welcomed! I ordered the waffles figuring when in Rome...why not. I had seen signs for the Blueberry Waffles at previouse locations. Bad new, they were limited edition and this location was out. So I got the waffle. Underwhelmed, it was thin and kind tasteless. The side of egg was perfect. My travel companion got her standard - eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patty and coffee -- she was happy! I haven't been here in a while and this place has taken a header off a cliff! It's in bad need of periodic maintenance! They have missing ceiling tiles, how hard is it to get new tiles? Not that hard people. At the very least pull some from an area that customers don't see. Broken glass panels near cashier, water damage (maybe??) to the exterior walls? Worst of all the restroom had an ungodly smell like sour mops. If it were just me I would've left because of the restroom but my wife wanted to stay since we had already ordered. This WH is located just off the Airline Drive exit of I-20 on the north side...This is only my 3d time ever, including my 10+ years living in the Boss City, to grace this locale with my presence...I've pretty much by-passed it cause I had my "home" WH right down from where I lived...but today, on my way outa town, this WH was the perfect location for me to satisfy my hunger before hitting the road. .. Now this locale has always felt cramped to me, most likely cause it's wedged sideways between a motel and a Taco Hell...This one has 6 booths, 6 bar stools at the main counter and 8 single chairs at a low counter... Whipped in found an open chair...waitress was right there to take my drink order immediately...shortly after I was ordering up my usual (3 eggs, hsshbrowns (SSCCCC) & a side of sausage) and it was placed fresh and piping hot in front of me within 10 minutes! Meal was delicious as I expected...service was outstanding as I expected...coffee was fresh, hot and tasty as I expected...so I'm pleased to give this WH the Gatr stamp of Approval!! Keep driving!!! KEEP driving as fast as you can and never come back! Food was normal same as other Waffle Houses but service at this location is DIASTER!!! If you're hungry at night (10 pm - 11 pm) and you choose this location. You will end up ABANDONED and MORE HUNGRY. They let me wait 10 mins for a glass of water, 35 mins for food. I ordered a combo that includes Coke/tea but they don't tell me they ran out of it until they served my food. I do expect a lot when I come to Waffle House because I've had wonderful experience with the Waffle House on Texas, but this one was awful. I will never be coming her ever again. I love a frou-frou breakfast, don't get me wrong, but sometimes a platter of eggs and hash browns just sounds better than a strawberry cheesecake stuffed French toast. I always hear about the Waffle House but have never been. They just look so ... inner-city bus stop. But we took the boys anyway. I really like the counter-booth set-up. The server stays in the kitchen but is also at your table. If you can't wrap your head around that, go visit one :). It's a very efficient way of doing things. I also think its fun to listen to the servers yelling out short-order cook lingo. "Scattered this, in-a-ring that", etc). How that cook keeps everything straight is beyond me. I can't even get my husband to watch tv and fold laundry at the same time. Anyway. I ordered the Sausage, Egg and Cheese Texas Toast melt with a large hash brown ... scattered (that means with onions). It was SO good! Like, really, really good! My husband declared his scrambled cheese eggs the best he has ever had. My kids wolfed down their own breakfasts without a sound. And the prices were very reasonable. I like how everything is customizable. My boys enjoyed being able to create their own waffle and hash browns. The servers were extremely attentive and so very friendly. Even the cook dashed over to refill my husband's coffee when our server was taking another order. When we left, we were wished a blessed day and thanked. The only problem with this place is cleanliness. It wasn't anywhere near as dirty as another area restaurant I reviewed, but it still made me feel a little icky. There were some flies darting about. It was enough to make me not eat a piece of food that had fallen onto the table. And since I was eating a sandwich that needed to held, I used a napkin to hold and open the ketchup bottle. I didn't SEE anything dirty aside from the few flies, it was just more of a feeling. This will be our breakfast stop from now on ... but I still need to find a frou-frou stop for that stuffed French toast. :) read more

Walked in and they were busy which is understandable so we politely waited. About 5 mins passes and a table becomes available, we wait for the waitress to clean it and all hell breaks lose. She clears the table of dishes and doesn't come back, when she does came back she uses a dry towel to wipe the towel then tells us we may sit. Before I could ask, can you rewipe the table because it was dirty she walks off: Okay that's fine so I decided to rewipe the table because it had caked up syrup on the table, egg by the salt and pepper, a water spot which could have been anything. I also wiped the seat area because it had hash brown on the seat. As I was doing this she stormed back down and demanded I give her the towel, in which I didn't, once I was done and passed her the towel she snatched it and yelled, "the table wasn't even dirty, I know you watched me wipe it." I responded, I did but it wasn't wiped well because you can see the syrup across the table. At this point, she says, I don't serve rude customers - hun what, now come on, you were rude from the time we stepped closer to the table that you said WE WEREN'T SUPPOSE TO SIT AT. It was a sit where you wish time so that's what we did, Then another employee comes down and says y'all might as well get out and not come back because nobody is going to serve y'all - like what? Y'all are busy, I understand that but don't halfway wipe down the table and get an attitude because we're sitting at that table then tell us loudly in front of all the customers don't come back. We're looking out for the health of our 4 year old: if he drops something on the table 9/10 he's going to eat it. Like trash!! We honestly eat at this location every Sunday and never had the encounter we had today! So we went to another Waffle House 4 mins up the road and had a phenomenal server that got the tip that waitress should have. read more

10am Tuesday brunch with the fam was Perfect. We had a limited amount of time, so we chose Waffle House over IHOP across the street, because it typically has MUCH faster service. Hubby, son and I ALL ordered the All Star breakfast plates, and almost as soon as we had all shared our specific selections we were super pleased to see our waffles arrived almost as quickly as our drinks! (Their pecan waffles are great, reminded us of Grandmother's homemade waffles). I must mention that my order of CRISPY hash browns was right on point, something I haven't been able to get from IHOP; crispy bacon as well. Norma was quick and friendly, and we are all very pleased with our brunch stop. My son asked that I make sure to give his compliments to the chef here as well. read more

My son and i went here about maybe 4 pm. We walked in and the lady greeted us as we walked in. We was the only customers. I had a waffle and coffee eggs and steak with nicely fried hash browns. I asked the steak not be salted. I had a bisquit. My son i don't remeber what he got. A glass of milk. Waffle maybe a slice of hamburger. My steak had the usual amout of salt and pepper. Too much. The rest of the breakfast tasted good. The place was clean. The waiteress was friendly. A lady whose husbund is away for 3 years in the us army in germany. She has to take care of the kids alone with family members for the next few years. The cook wore gloves and that is nice. One thing i didn't care for is the waiteress coughed into her hand like people do then grabbed the silverware to give to us without washing her hands. I was thinking about asking her to wash her hands then give us new silverware. But didn't. Should have though. But we took our chances. I'd go back again. read more

When I walked in the door to get my pick up order NO ONE SPOKE to me, they were NOT smiling and they were NOT friendly. I was the only customer in there and after waiting 5mins or so to get my food I told the lady at the register, you guys must be having a bad day because no one has spoken to me! She looked at me, rolled her eyes, showed me where I could sign my ticket with a frown and never said another word. I WILL NEVER GO BACK to that location! No sanitation included with your purchase, same hand touches dirty plate, clean plates and so on you name it, I understand at times if busy but only 2 customers were here. Good food I guess that's what makes the food tates good, patiently waiting as the phone was hung up when I got here and it was slam deliberately as I sat like if I wasn't here, I don't think the employees like each other very much hehe.. I have gone to this Waffle House a number of times and it has always been fine until today. I went and the server was fine brought my drinks out and started my waffle. As they were letting it cook they began to clean with these rags and a bucket of "rag water". When my waffle was done instead of using a utensil or putting on gloves they grabbed it with their bare hands and threw it on my plate. Of course I didn't touch it and at the register the lady acted as if I was in the wrong for being unsatisfied with the way my meal was prepared. Will probably never go here again. read more
