Despite my last 2 star review 2 years ago- I've continued to enjoy breakfast with cafe USA on a consistent basis. The servers are always friendly and welcoming . Service is prompt, hot and delicious. It was my first time eating here today. First of all it's a little hidden gem that can be overlooked if you're not looking for it. I love how it clearly honors our veterans by representing all the military branches on the windows. It was busy when we got there, but our waitress was very attentive and we didn't feel rushed to get up and leave when we finished eating. The food was delicious. The bacon was crispy, the eggs were perfectly runny, and the biscuit was light and fluffy. The omelette was really good too. We will definitely be back soon! read more

Good service. Food was decent for the price. Atmosphere is very intense. If you're military or law enforcement, you'll feel very comfortable. I had the toaster sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese. The sausage had a little kick which gave a good balance to the rest of sandwich. Hubs had a 2 egg breakfast scrambled, sausage links, a biscuit and grits. The biscuit was homemade and very good. The eggs were a bit overcooked. Grits were just ok. Sausage links were good and large for breakfast links. read more

The service was friendly w/a smile from the moment we walked in the door. The food was so good. They serve breakfast and/or lunch all day long. I had a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra, all white gravy & a biscuit & a Diet Coke.My son had 2 fried eggs, 8 oz steak, side of link sausage (3 pieces) & side of bacon (3 pieces) and coffee & a biscuit. I loved this place but I guess they are closing at random times. Every meal has been great.

I've been here twice in recent months. I found this place with a "breakfast" search on Google maps because I was not finding much in the area that did anything for me. They open at six in the morning, and I'm a particularly early riser, so I waited until a little after six to show up and was surprised to find quite a few people already in there. Customers informed me that they generally open even earlier than six because people want in, so in they get. It's definitely a place for local regulars. Everybody seems to know everybody. Two stark differences in my pair of visits. When I find myself in a place like this, I tend to sit at the counter and just keep to myself. On the first visit, a woman sitting a couple seats away made it her personal mission to include me in the banter and started introducing me to everybody. We ended up sharing jokes and having a grand ole time. The second visit, I sat at the counter again, and when somebody two seats away left, the guy next to me immediately moved one seat away from me like I hadn't showered or something. I'm not offended by this. I know what kind of place I'm in, and I don't ever want to force myself into such a tight knit group. Now let's get to the constants and the good: Lorri runs this place and I believe is the owner. She is a no-nonsense type person, but even if you're an outsider like me, she makes darn sure that you're taken care of on every aspect of your meal. She even gave me a to-go cup of coffee for the drive back to my hotel after I'd finished eating! I got the steak and egg breakfast both times, which I believe is in the fifteen or sixteen dollar range. At that price, I expect the steak to neigh and winnie when I stick my fork in it, but people of Yelp, I'm here to tell you that I believe Lorri has kidnapped a team of culinary elves from parts unknown because this steak is mind blowingly good for the price. Like I didn't feel as though I was "settling" for a lower quality breakfast in exchange for a lower price. This thing was TASTY! Out the door with coffee and tip, the steak and egg runs me about twenty five dollars. I asked Lorri how she makes such good food for such low prices. She exhaled, and said it's getting tough. I hope this place is able to weather the inflationary storms of the day and continue on, even if it's primarily catering to a regular crowd of locals. Some friends and I stopped here for breakfast on a recent trip to Shreveport. We were quickly seated and the waitress took our orders. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs toast and coffee. Our orders were quickly served. However, the good just wasn't very good. My chicken fried steak seemed to be a pre prepared patty that tasted like it had been frozen for some time. The eggs were over medium, and just eggs. The toast was barely toasted. Though not very busy, the waitress never checked on us after we had our order except to bring us our check. I had to ask for a refill of coffee. Can't help but think there are better breakfast options in the area. read more

Since our Communist Governor "Mr. Honor Code", John Bel Edwards decreed that you can get C-19 in a restaurant, but not an abortion clinic, my Sunday breakfast haunt, Sue's Country Kitchen, sits empty as a testament to the goodness of Socialism. After tiring of chain joints for breakfast, I stumbled upon this little gem. My wife came in with my daughter yesterday, and told me that I have try it. The last time I was here, it was a joint called Teddy's, and changed hands before Cafe USA came in. I had a ham and cheddar omelette, hash browns with a side of bacon. The omelette was busting at the seams, hash browns were absolutely perfect, and the bacon on point. The only detractors was coffee wasn't free flowing, and the juice comes in a juice glass, as does the milk...I need more with my meal. Forget about the "good reviews" you see on Google or here.. While adventuring new places I like to check everything local out. The lady serving us was nice but the food quality and food was terrible. Some was burnt, the pancakes were terrible and couldn't eat them at all. A burnt taste with some other weird flavor. along with other food we ordered that didn't taste right and some other things we ordered look like they just came from a can and microwaved like the chili and biscuits and gravy.. the sauce to the biscuits and gravy was so thick, gross and cold.. You could taste it and see it in the food. This is the type of food you'd see and taste and say I was better off staying home cooking breakfast... much cleaner and much better. Went for breakfast with coworker food was really good home cooking is all I can say. I will return for breakfast anytime in town. The customer service is profound! Our server was friendly, happy, and accommodating. The decor and ambiance bleed patriotic, lots of support for service members to feel welcomed and Newsmax is on the TV. If you're a liberal you may feel a bit out of place. Now the food, which is why you visit. The food was edible, hot and fresh. If you like home cooking with scant seasoning or spice this place is for you. Amazing little cafe that doesn't look like much in the outside. Inside seating is for days, food is incredible--hash browns and biscuits/gravy so good. Best local dinner in the city. This place not only feels like home but the food is a throw back to what Grandma was cooking for us as kids. This is a VERY "American" place located right outside of Barksdale Air Force Base. The atmosphere was littered with flags and bald eagles; holy crosses and other God references; Green Bay Packers memorabilia; signs with puns and sarcasm, and Fox News on the TV. So the decor may not appeal to some (my liberal side thought, "Uh, am I allowed here?"), but I think there's a lot of charm to it. But the customer service is great, with some very sweet ladies running the show. The cafe was very clean, and they serve breakfast all day! I went for lunch and it was pretty empty inside, with mostly older generations enjoying their breakfast/lunch. Since it wasn't busy, I could sit where I want. I ordered the cheesesteak omelette, which came with a choice of hash browns, grits, or home fries, and a biscuit or toast. I went with the hash browns and a wheat toast. Oh, and of course a side of bacon. Honestly, for the price I expected a bit more, but I did leave satisfied enough. Everything tasted good but nothing to rant and rave about. The omelette was topped with a slice of American cheese, so it looked kind of cheap but pretty much what I might have at home. The hash browns were not fresh cut, I don't think. The bacon was cooked thoroughly and maybe even patted dry. The slices of toast were small but buttered up nicely.
