This is absolutely a DIVE!! Which is exactly what We were looking for. My son and I stopped here on the way back from Dallas and it did not disappoint. First of all, the people are very happy, delightful, friendly, super sweet. My son noted that neither the floor, nor the tables, were sticky!! That's pretty exceptional for a place like this. (It had been opened for 22 years). We considered ordering Po Boys and other sandwiches, but this is Hamburger Happiness, so it had to be hamburgers - or cheeseburgers on our case. They had a special with a burger, any side and a soft drink, I got a small cheeseburger, my son got the large. The burgers come with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and mustard. Mayo can be added. I had mine with no pickles and extra mayo. My son removed the pickles and the onions. The bun to meat ratio was perfect, although I don't think the bun was toasted (not a huge deal). Burger was really hot with cheese well melted. Veggies were still crisp. I had Cajun fries and Ford had onion rings. Both were really good. Don't miss this "hole in the wall ". read more

The place was a little off putting from the outside, but, inside, there was a nice cafe vibe. The cashier was extremely nice and the food came out very quick. This used to be the Bar-B-Burger in days gone by and now it's a great little old-fashioned diner. When you step into the small eating area (about 10 booths and tables) it's like stepping back in time, with lots of interesting and funny things on the walls. They serve standard diner fare with a Southern twist - in addition to the burgers and fries and onion rings, they serve fried catfish and other 'blue plate' items. The food is very good and the atmosphere is perfect if you like small, cozy places that feel like they've been part of the community forever. They also do breakfast and the serve-yourself coffee is outstanding. Great place to have a lazy breakfast on Saturday morning and see lots of people you know. read more

Maybe not the nicest or newest restaurant I've been too, but damn the double cheeseburger was outstanding. Place was packed and the waitress knew almost everyone that walked through door and already knew what they wanted. Big buns to cover the meat, condiments were fresh and crisp. When my family travels we like to find little dives to try. We saw the sign for this place and thought we had to try. I mean, where else can you get a hamburger and a donut for dessert!! Southern made at that?m!! The burgers were wonderful and even the buns were toasted! The locals meet for coffee and lunch here and the owner cooks and refills your drink! My husband asked for a fried egg on top of his burger and I was cooked perfectly. Thank you Minden for this little secret.
