Good food, good flavor. The waitress was prompt and stayed at our table frequently, even as the place filled up for lunch. I had the BBQ pulled pork, it comes with slaw and is served naked so you can put sauce on it yourself. The buns are good, too, and held up well. The pork was good, good flavor not overcooked or oversmoked. Hubby enjoyed his sandwich too. Can't remember the name red-headed something... The cheese corn is surprisingly good. Think more broccoli casserole with corn instead of broccoli, it's more like that than corn casserole. The sauce is good. BBQ sauce is pretty standard southern sauce, and the mustard sauce suprised me, I liked it. Not heavy on the vinegar like I expected. Both were great. BBQ is pricey no matter where you go so it's not cheap, but it was good. We will be back!

The red headed step child and the bishop sandwiches were delicious and a lot of food. We sat at the bar and the bartender took our drink order quickly as wewere deciding on our meals. I really enjoyed the different bbq sauces they have. The bartender Annalea was friendly and had amazing recommendations for food. We will definitely be back.

I had high expectations because this place is always crowded. It was fair. No yummy smoke-pit smell since there is no pit. The interior is eclectic with 2 rooms; Several TVs for viewing. Our waitress was ok but not attentive--my lackluster tea sat empty until I flagged her down for a refill. Brisket sandwich had thick slices , but could have used more.. You have to pay for a side with the sandwich. The pulled pork was tender but not very flavorful. Sides are small. I did not care for the beans. Mac and Cheese is bland and not warm. It tasted like Velveta and noodles. The cheesy corn has more rice than corn--disappointed. Little too pricey. Does have a bar.

Establishment was nice size, clean. Music was ok. Couple of tvs. Wasn't very busy. Small, limited menu. Sides came out hot, but not much flavor. Adult Mac and cheese w 4 cheese sauce and bread crumbs was a no compared to au gratin potatoes from ss. No salad options. Meat was room temperature. Pricey...

Do not miss the Magnolia Pit if you're within driving distance of Shreveport. My husband, kids,…read moreand I were in Shreveport visiting family over Christmas, and everyone was tired of cooking and eating leftovers. We heard this place was good, so off we went. The first thing we noticed was the secret, speakeasy vibe. Off the bright street we entered a short, dark hallway with "brick covered" revolving door. You just have to see it. Once in the "Pit" we were greeted by one of the friendliest cashiers. He seemed genuinely happy to be there, and he was super helpful as we made our selections. The kids and I got the Pit Master so we could try a little bit of everything. It came with portions of brisket, chicken, ribs, sausage, turkey, and their firecracker pork belly bites as well as four sides of your choice, corn bread, cheddar beer bread, and two desserts. Hubby got a brisket cheddar melt. We ended up with so much food we brought home leftovers for another few meals. Holy smokes! Let me say, I've lived in San Antonio for the last 15 years and eaten A LOT of bbq around the state. Aaron Franklin in Austin has long had my heart for bbq. But the Magnolia Pit in Shreveport does not play. Everything was seasoned well, and juicy, but the brisket...oh the brisket! Perfect bark, nice and juicy, and not fatty at all. My non-foodie kids liked the ribs so well, we had to order a couple extra. If you are not familiar with pork belly or burnt ends, I highly recommend at least getting the firecracker pork belly bites as an appetizer. We all thought they were phenomenal. The brisket melt sandwich was thick and so flavorful. I can see why it is one of the most ordered things on the menu. Sometimes the sides are an afterthought at bbq joints. Not at the Magnolia Pit. The corn maque choux is crazy good. It's creamy, smoky, and has a bit of a kick. The potato salad tasted homemade, and the dirty rice was a fun surprise. Do not miss the creamy macaroni and cheese that is topped with bbq schnibbles. The kids went to town on that. I swear we took a couple to go boxes, and did not eat it all in one sitting! Do the same when you go, because their in-house made desserts are so good. We shared the bread pudding and the buttermilk pie. Fantastic sauce to pudding ratio on the bread pudding. The pie was so smooth and creamy, I may just order one to take to my in-laws' next time I'm in town. Anyway, do yourself a favor and get on over to the Magnolia Pit. The food, ambiance, and friendly staff made this a fun adventure I can't wait to go on again.

Everybody at my table enjoyed their food. It seemed that I was actually served more brisket this time in my brisket plate than my last visit so I was thoroughly pleased! I like lean brisket but I found myself doing a lot of chewing and water sipping to get everything down this time. Just a little dry. Server and kitchen were super accommodating with providing me a side of peppers to eat with my brisket. Our server was fantastic. The inside got really cold due to them turning on the fans and opening up the back door to I guess clear the air out for an incoming party. Made it uncomfortable towards the end. I think that air might've dried out my brisket after a certain point. Fries were good. Bbq beans were wonderful with a nice flavor...first time having those.

It's messy so eat it with the fork and knife they gave you, which is my mistake. Everything just tastes better when you eat a hot dog without utensils. The paddie melt is also good as well. The rosemary garlic fries had good flavor and same with the onion rings. They happened to just bring us out the loaded onion rings so we were pleasantly surprised. Service is friendly. Very nice place. The portions were actually loaded because normally I wouldn't think I'd be full from the food but it was really filling. I give it a four out of five because it didn't blow me away.
