She prefers cornmeal on catfish over flour breading and was pleased with the crispy cornmeal and the generous portion. Now for the main event. Pie! Strawn's is known for their strawberry pie and for good reason. It was the best strawberry pie that I have ever eaten. The whipped cream topping was transcendent and paired perfectly with the strawberries. My photo does not do this pie justice. Tigers was using very large mushrooms with caps that had opened. Better suited for sliced / sautéed. They were okay but I definitely enjoyed Fumbles more. The historic building is old and rundown. The old pool table was gone as well as the video poker room. The cubby with the autograph pictures and pay phone is just a dump station for lazy (or busy) staff. T-shirts available in a rainbow of colors. $17-$19 Restroom was okay.

Drinks here are pretty affordable and you get all the favorite cocktails like the Hurricane and Hand Grenade. Drink at your own risk cause they are powerful and pack a punch. You may get some sass from the bartender but it's all in good fun. As for food, whatever cajun bar eat you're looking for, it's here. Boudin stuff, po boys, muffelettas, and the gumbo/red beans & rice/jambalaya are all delicious here. Everything I've tried here is awesome. The loaded mac & cheese is one of my favorites; get it fully loaded with the boudin and crawfish; OMG! Vibes here scream cajun college bar with some sassy fun bartenders and a variety of patrons here. I've seen college students, business folks, blue-collar workers, soccer moms having a ladies night, and teachers unloading through refills of wine and hurricanes. We ordered the game day nachos and a sausage poboy. The app took 10 minutes and the sandwich 14 minutes later. The nachos were tasty ($14) but I didn't care for the Gator Andouille poboy. It was too salty. The bread to meat ratio was way off. ($14) Beers are pricey, but the live music is free. So that's a trade off. We stayed till about 9pm enjoying the music.
