So we hadn't had an absolutely fabulous mongolian meal in a good while, and we saw this place while we were in the area. We chose this place instead of the Vietnamese restaurant next door and even though its better than we've had before, it's not as "top-notch" as I would have liked it to be. Their service is prompt and polite which is always an added plus. As always when going to a place like this, i like to pile on more of the vegetables than the meat. What can I say, i just love grilled vegetables with a spicy flavor to them! I went simple with meat & shrimp which was a great combination with some Sriracha sauce and the red pepper oil, but I'm Mexican so of course you know I had to ad some jalapeno slices to the mix. BOOM!! - It gave it that bite into your death kind of flavor but it wasn't really over the top, so a great combo altogether. They grill it fairly quick if you're not there during rush hour so definitely keep that in mind when stopping by around noon. My friend and I loved this place. We just went for the first time yesterday, and we left happy. Great food, acceptable prices, and great service. We are on Weight Watchers and the bowls are a bit small for all of the vegetables that we wanted to load up on. So we paid an additional $2 for an extra bowl just for vegetables. It worked out amazingly well. We ended up with a giant bowl of delicious food that ended up being dinner and lunch the next day for $14 plus tip. Overall, great! read more

me and my husband proceeded in the restaurant to eat what we were so excited for to eat. We decided to pull the side cups to use for extra sides as we were going to pay for it. Not only does the waitress come up to us and tell us that is not acceptable, we proceeded to tell her we were paying for any extras. I waved my server down... she proceeded to another table then to the register. I waved down another that was just walking around. Another table called her over and inwas ignored again. My server came to refill my stepdads drink, took mine because the glass was cracked, and I asked for napkins, third time I was ignored. This place is much better than Genghis Grill. The selection is vast and the only thing I find lacking is the sauce selection. Genghis is better there. The price is a little high and that is why they are only getting four stars. The food is great and diverse. And the crab ragoons are AMAZING. Seriously. AMAZING. My first time here and definitely not my last! The food was delicious. I ordered the Thai peanut chicken and took bites off of my sister's Mongolian empire bowl. For $10 I ate plenty and had more than enough leftovers. This is perfect if you're on a budget and still want to eat deliciously. There was a language barrier with our waiter HOWEVER he did an an amazing job getting our order correct and providing speedy service. Pleasantly surprised! They have a large selection of meat, veggies, spices and sauces. The restaurant was extremely clean and comfortable. I also got the coconut shrimp appetizer. The man that took my lunch to be grilled was pretty irritating. I wanted my food to go and on the card they have a little box for special instructions. Since I'm a vegetarian and didn't want my food cooked on the same surface as meat eaters, I was about to write down to please cook my food on a separate surface. As I was still checking off my rice selection, the man grabs my food and throws it on the main grill that's used for meat eaters. He didn't even give me a chance to finish filling out the card before he grabbed my food. When I told him what I was about to write on the card, he asked if I would like him to pick the food off the grill and cook it on a separate surface but in my eyes the damage was already done. Vegetarians DO NOT want their food cooked on the same surface as meat since the fats can AND DO transfer to the other foods. That's the whole purpose of having a separate grill!! Also, it was a little after 1pm and the place had 4 tables with people and there wasn't a single person behind me. There was no reason for him to be in such a rush. read more

We have been here about 10 times now so it is time to write a review This is a "select it yourself" type asian grill but they do the cooking. The meal is preceded by a sweet marinated cucumber. Ask for it when you go. The food is cooked fine and fairly quickly. They have a good variety of meat and vegatables plus an extensive number of sauces. My wife would like to see cashews on the selection list but I like the fact that they have bok choy (unlike other places we have been to). I guess there are always trade-offs. Food was decent. Nothing to drive out of the way for. Ice cream is included with the bowl, which I did eat bc I didn't want to finish the bowl. The fried rice is not cooked properly. You basically chew the hard rice. The proper cooked rice is soft but not wet. When we told the server ... all she said is I will tell them. She didn't even say sorry! Then...we got no fortune cookie just because we complain about the fried rice! Bad service for the price of food! read more

We ate here on Christmas day while visiting family in Spring. I wondered out loud if the uncooked meat, which sits under a plastic hood surrounded in ice was safe, and even joked with my husband about how ironic that we would get food poisoning today. Luckily, it didn't hit us until a few hours later, and we both ran in our house in Sugar Land. We barely made it, and will never go there again. Uncooked meat sitting out for you the customer to decide when to cook it. Knew it was a bad idea. Thank God nothing happened while we were visiting family. They need to rethink their whole set up. After reading some of the other reviews, I did stop to think that you don't get a bowl size choice, or a menu, or prices, or instructions. But don't let that stop you if you like this "pick your own meats, veggies, spices, sauce and have them grill it up" type of place. You walk in, are seated, then handed a bowl. Write your name and table number on the dry erase card at your table. Then take the card and bowl to the beginning of the line. Grab a tray and start loading up with shrimp, chicken, steak, pork, etc. - then add veggies, spices, maybe an egg or two, some sauces (choose from maybe 15), then hand your bowl to the guys on the grille. In about 10 minutes, your food is brought out super hot and delicious. Don't expect white tablecloths or a 5 star waitstaff. If you can live with the experience described above, this place will be alright for you. read more

I've never written a review but this restaurant just wasn't what we thought it would be. I've lived in Asian countries for years and this restaurant does not live up to their standards. Our utensils and bowls we're dirty and the meat did not smell fresh. I tried to reserve me assumptions but they were proven when we got our food and it tasted like a dirty grill. Pros: fresh veggies and the variety of sauces/spices are where the 2 stars come from. If you can fit it in your bowl they'll cook it. Cons: BIG CONS: - Water tastes absolutely disgusting, it tastes like they haven't changed their filter in years. - The place gets hot as hell because they refuse to turn the A/C on. - Water seriously tastes gross it has been the reason i haven't gone back in months. it is not just the water, the soda also is funky tasting because of their water quality. - Staff sometimes will sit there waiting for you to finish signing your check/adding tip which is weird and unsettling. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. The food was descent until I noticed roach parts floating in my ice water. I almost regurgitated everything at an instant. After the manager came over, I asked him to look at the contents in my cup and he didn't look surprised at all. I asked him if there is a roach problem there and he replied "yes".
