Great drinks, friendly bartenders (even late night when it's crowded). Great scene any night of the week. Compared to other W hotel bars I've been to this one's a little on the small side. In particular, the area behind the bar is far to narrow, making it difficult to get around when it's crowded. Seating area is good for groups or couples. Overall a solid late night experience. read more

Fun chill place when there's no line or cover

I have been to the bar at the W a few times now and while never blown away, found it decent and was willing to go there if people I was going out with really wanted to go. That was until this past Sunday...I was taking my parents out to dinner in the Theater District and thought it would be fun to take them somewhere a little upscale for a drink beforehand. We got a table fairly quickly and then we waited about 5 minutes for a cocktail waitress, which was fine, but then after we placed our order with her she up and disappeared for literally 25 minutes! I have no idea what happened, it wasn't just that maybe the bar was too busy to make service drinks or she forgot the order...she was completely gone from the lounge. We finally ended up going to the bar to tell them we didn't have our drinks pushing 30 minutes after having ordered them. 5 minutes after that she shows up with the drinks and asks my father if he would like a glass for his beer, to which he replied yes. 5 minutes after that we ended up having to go back to the bar because they made one of the drinks wrong and still no glass for the beer. None of these things are really the end of the world, but 30 minutes to wait for drinks in an empty bar that touts itself as an upscale, luxury lounge, and charges for it, is ridiculous. It was embarrassing and annoying for me and we were late for our dinner reservation because of it. I will not be back. read more

Food was delicious (especially the calamari and pizza). Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. All the employees very nice. Service was a bit slow, but it was also very busy. Overall a good experience! read more

Kinda cool setting but very cramped. Chainmail screen curtains and fireplace nice touches. Crowd a little on the trying to be uber fashionable and accomplishing pretentious side. Staff friendly and unobtrusive. Drinks - expensive and weak!!! All in all, completely skippable. Definitely did not live up to the hype. read more

If you are looking for a place to enjoy a Boston atmosphere and have a few drinks stop and don't even consider this place. You will pay $13.00 for a drink that has almost no liquor in it , and the service staff has no intension to make a customer feel comfortable or happy. Take it as an advise coming from an experience or try it yourself. Who knows you might be luckier than us. read more

Looking for a place not filled with young 20 something's...older 30 and up crowd the nights I have been, professional crowd, swanky, well dressed, pricey but it's the W..where you will find James Bond sipping on a Martini in this town. read more

What happened here? Use to be a chic, cool spot. Dropped by with friends this past Friday after work..it was dead. It was also filthy...food all over the floor under the tables, dirty napkins buried in the sofa and under pillows. The carpets are stained. Our waitress barely wiped down our table. Totally disgusting. For the price of a drink, I'll pass next time. What happened to the W? read more

Literally the worst service I've ever had. I'm currently still here... Waiting. The cocktail waitress took forever to come to the table. I had to go to the bar, they said they'll send a waitress. Waited for a good 15 mins before she finally came. She wasn't helpful and didn't offer any suggestions. We had to ask her. Finally the food came... The steak wasn't cooked correctly... I wanted medium rare and mine was pretty much done. I've been waiting for her... Or anyone to come check up on us... So I could tell them about my steak... We needed sauce and wasn't able to get anyone's attention. I feel like I shouldn't have to go up to the bar and ask if There's plenty of people walking around... Yet still no one checked up on us.... We are about to go to the bar to ask for the check and leave. Worst service I've ever encountered. read more

$11 for a raspberry lychee bellini, but it is good... so good. Sweet but not syrupy or sticky.

The W Lounge in Boston is a decent place to catch up with friends over a drink. Comfy seats. The burger is pretty good. Calamari is ok. Recommend paying with a credit card. Unless you specifically ask for change, the server won't return with the change. Some friends were paying that night with cash. The bill was slightly over $40 so my friend put down $60. Tried flagging her down but gave up eventually.. read more

Absolutely beautiful space calm waterfalls and cozy fire pit! Great place to mingle with a drink or grab a bite. Cool hues of blue and gray. The staff is super friendly and accommadating. Can't wait to stay in there. read more

If you love the feel of hotel bars, the W lounge is perfect with sections for large group seating and couples seating along the wall. Of course, high prices since it's in a hotel, I don't know why people don't get this concept yet. But I'd rather pay more than bumping into everyone with over obnoxious loud music. If you like W hotels, they bring their design and feel into the bar with the mood LED lighting and purples and greys. They have great cocktails and my fave is the Bellini. It's a great place to have a drink before or after a theater event or for a casual ladies night. read more

nice eclectic comfy spot to sip some wine and watch the world go by before heading to one of the theatres in the area. Service was good and free wireless. read more

We came here for a drink before going across the street to watch Aziz Ansari. The prices are not bad and the atmosphere is good. I think the key thing with this place is to get here early if you want to get a seat. Next time we will try food. read more

A perfect stop before a night out on the town at any of the close-by clubs on Tremont St. Definitely attracts an upscale crowd, so dress accordingly. After waiting outside in line just to get in, you may also have to wait for a table to open up. Although they are pricey, the drinks and the bar food/desserts are high quality stuff. read more

Shots of Fireball were $15 each.... yikes!!! Also, our server Molly was an absolute nightmare. She barely ever came back to the table after our initial order, but more importantly she was incredibly RUDE. Don't plan on ever coming back to this place solely on how terrible her service was! read more

I like the W lounge for a number of reasons. It is a large open space with an intimate feel. Each seating area is secluded and you can't hear other table's conversations. There is a nice combination of seats, tables, and couches. There is a fire place. The drink prices are very reasonable. I've always stopped by during the week and they are always busy but never crowded. read more

chic, cool the two words that would help me best describe the lounge of the W hotel. The place is excellent for "apres work" drinks and hanging out. Music is very good as well On the down side the ambiance could potentially create an environment that is too cold--- since the space is quite large and uncozy. read more

We went later at night when there was a DJ playing 90's club type music and we had a great time. The younger brunette girl we had as a bartender was great, really nice, made good drinks. The only negative thing was that it's in the hotel lobby area and it took until 930-10 for the guests in giant winter jackets, fur hats and mittens to be replaced by people dressed for a night of going out in Boston. It completely changed the vibe, making it feel more like a upscale lounge/club. Can't wait to go back! read more

I was there on an off night and the music was loud assisted suicide meets the electronic age. The place was too slick by half. But I could see that if it was packed and I was shopping my junk I'd be smiling all night long. I mean what with all the girls, whom I wouldn't have to listen to cause it's way loud, buying me drinks, which I would never pay that kind of money for myself, and are as strong as the music is loud, putting a huge smile on my face which the fantastic lighting would show to great effect so that more girls would come up and, well you get the idea. So ya if you look at it that way, and if I was like thirty years younger, I would be down. But the waitress was a stone fox merchandising major who turned me on, I mean turned me on to a store called Found out in Davis Square. So nice digs, good booze, pricey and way loud bad music. Just get someone else to pay and go when it's busy. Oh and have a room at the Revere Hotel because: "Hey! You girls wanna go for a swim?" will work everytime. read more

W Lounge - Ya, every time. Seriously, a room with a pool in Boston is like having a boat in Redondo Marina, California. - Lounges Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Went to the gallery section (the bar around the corner from the main bar, much less crowded!) of the W Lounge on a Thursday evening with a couple friends after we went to Rock Bottom Brewery for dinner. Had a couple great old fashioned whiskeys and was really impressed with the service and kindness of our bartender Eleni! Very reasonably priced and well worth it. Will certainly be back in the future. read more

Worst experience ever. Am currently sitting in this booth with 10 close friends and have been sitting here for 2.5 hours. I had one drink and it took forever to get it. The drinks weren't good and the service was terrible. I don't plan on coming back anytime soon. read more

Decided to stop here after dinner in the city and had a great time. The atmosphere was very posh and the music wasn't bad. We just hoped that the DJ wouldn't switch songs so quickly... We couldn't enjoy most of the song because they kept changing. Drinks were pricey but that's Boston. We were able to grab seats pretty quickly because the bar was packed! If in the city wouldn't mind going back to this stop. read more

I love this hotel bar. It is a great spot to come for a drink in the afternoon. The raspberry lychee bellini is one of my favorite cocktails in the entire city and lord only knows what they are putting in their French Fries because I often times crave them late at night. The staff is incredibly friendly and the rest of their food menu is decent. Great ambience and great service if you can get a seat on one of their comfy couches. read more

It's a nice W lounges like all the rest. Nice versatile ground, good music and good cocktails...what you would expect at a W!

OK for a club! Music is just good and the drinks are too watered down. The bartenders are ok but need to know how to mix a drink!

Went here for NYE. As I entered the restroom before leaving, a busted, blondish (light brown hair?) white man whom I assume was a worker (b/c he used a key to open a bathroom stall) immediately said konichiwa. I told him I'm not Japanese, and he was pissed b/c he's ignorant. I guess I should've said "geia" (hello in Greek) and tell him that I think every white person is Greek and thus should know "hello" in Greek b/c ALL white people speak Greek, just like ALL Asians speak Japanese. Duh! Please check your ignorant worker at the door. Other than that, the music and night went well, although it wasn't worth the price. Stupid countdown. Where were the flashing lights, balloons, and confetti?? Plus, where was my champagne toast that was advertised? False advertisement and an ignorant worker? Antío! (That's bye in Greek, as all white people know.) read more

Went here on a Monday night after going to a great show. Unfortunately the staff here on a Monday was more interested in themselves and socializing than they were to wait on patrons. I wouldn't come back. read more

Beware. This place is overhyped and dangerously loud. If you come here, there is a good chance you'll damage your hearing and suffer hearing loss. It happened to me. The music is loud. You'll hear it before you walk into the building. Most of the staff wear ear protection, so don't be like me and many others unaware and without it. Wear earplugs. Or, you'll be needing hearing aids. I was there 4/7/18. The food and drinks were overpriced and lackluster. While there is no cover, you pay for it in other ways. The decor is nice. Service is decent. There are much better options in Boston for a fun night out or celebration with friends. Avoid. read more

The atmosphere was just fine and the drinks were decent (I got Mojitos) However, the staff at the door single handedly earned this place one star. I have heard that the door staff were obnoxious and catered to the privileged types, but I got to see this for myself on Friday. My friend was having a birthday reception inside so we were there having drinks. Our other friend who was invited, came a little later, as he had to do work for grad school. He arrived with his laptop in a small Jack Spade messenger bag, but was told he would not be permitted to enter. (not sure if this is relevant, but he was not Caucasian). I came out to meet him and explained the situation to the 3 guys at the door, but it was made clear that they were not interested in finding a solution. I asked about a coat check, which the hotel must certainly have, and they dismissively said you can't check bags there, basically implying "give it up and leave". While we were having this discussion, 3 different women walked in carrying purses larger than my friend's bag. (I guess Kate Spade is ok, just not Jack Spade). So my friend was turned away, with rude and dismissive attitude. I will not be back. read more

The W Lounge was overwhelmed with customers before the show at Boch Center, right across the street, was set to start. Luis was particularly attentive to our table, offering us house-made chips and bread to tide us over until the kitchen was able to accomodate our order. He also personally made sure our order was rushed through as we had a show to attend. The drinks and our food were as delicious as we expected. read more

Just stopped in for a drink, because I was staying at near by hotel. Ordered a Ketel and soda. Drink was made by unfriendly male bartender; the girls were friendly, but unfortunately, the only guy behind the bar, took my order. Drink was delivered, and i gave him a $20 dollar bill when it arrived. He took the $20, and never came back; no words were exchanged. After a while, I asked one of the girl tenders how much a Ketel was; She said $12; I said "ok", please tell the guy, that the $8 change was my tip. I would have left it anyway; but the fact that the guy didn't even bring me my change, and assumed that the $8 was his, chapped my ass. Girls seemed friendly and attentive, but the guy needs to go back to hospitality school. W spent too much on this property, to have "one, and done" service. read more

Expensive drinks, ill designed, uncomfortable seating (I mean the W hotel chain tries too hard with the whole interior design thing anyway), and spotty service the night I was there (guests were actually going up to the bar asking for the wait staff to come over to take orders - they were too busy being beautiful to care). A very small bar, too - I counted nine stools. It's a huge hotel in a busy area, so I think the bar is really undersized and just poorly laid out. As hotel bars go in Boston there are many better (Oak Room, for example). And why does every W Hotel - at least every one I've been to (NY, FLL, SF) - find it necessary to blare such poor dance music that you can barely carry on a conversation with the person you're with? The crowd is a little too airy and up on themselves for my taste, so I'll be sticking to places that know my name. read more

It was 4 of us and we had to wait for bartender for 15 minutes to at least pay attention to us. After we finally had chance to order he didn't even listen all 4 orders and walked away. He served other customers and only after that came back for the 4th order. Did not satisfy with service at all. read more

Service is very slow.....came on Friday around 5 and could hardly get a drink.

The lounge itself is nice, but the bar is way too small for how many people it holds. Also, the crowd isn't my favorite... people seemed way too full of themselves and far too demanding. I'll be back if my friends are going, but I won't go out of my way for their overpriced drinks and rude patrons. read more

we came to the W lounge after din din last friday for drinks. i had a glass of riesling to start off. it was pretty bad. my friends had two cocktails which tasted decent. we also had a bottle of champagne. very relaxing atmosphere and comfy seatings! the waitress was kinda pushy probably due to no minimum spending. read more

Normal drink prices, very comforable lounge. I've only been once and the waitress was terrible, but I dont think they are hired for their smarts. I waited 10 minutes for anyone to ask if I wanted a drink, she spilled champagne all over the group next to us and kept trying to take the check when we still had our drinks left (hasn't she heard of sticking your credit card out when you are ready to pay). Not a bad place, probably just got a bad server. read more
