Always seems to be at least 3-4 people to hold the doors open. The bar is right next to the check in area with a DJ on busy nights so it can be crowded depending on when you come in. I always have to wait a bit to check in, but that's because they take their time with everyone to make sure everything is explained. All of the staff is extremely friendly The gym is awesome. Tons of equipment from treadmills and free weights to punching bags and a Pelaton. I signed up for the Pelaton (free, no credit card required) and it was amazing! Free headphones and a beverage machine, plus for $5 you can rent a gym outfit including shoes which is nice. No pool (which I don't use anyway). I got a room on the 13th... err 14th floor (it's really the 13th but that's unlucky so they call it the 14th). I am apparently the first person in this room since renovation. It is an interesting style. It's a mix of elegance, sheik, and creepy. They have some scary looking paintings on the wall when you come in and the table looks like a ouiji board. The chairs look sheik, one is a swivel chair that's looks like it would be squishy and comfy but it is stiff. The other chair looks like something you'd see in the 1700's. The light over the table is a floor lamp that has a big light that hangs down. The bed is comfortable and there is a ton of alcohol available as well as candies and chips and other... items. Nescafé machine is cool and there are free water bottles. The alarm has a Qi charger so you can just throw your phone on it and it dings to start charging. There's also a Bluetooth speaker. The TV is large, I'd say 50+ inches, but the feed they have is low quality so it's very pixelated, especially when watching regular channels. Also there's no apps like Netflix or hbo go or Hulu or any of that. You can buy movies or stream your phone to the screen, but again it's pixelated and then if you are watching something from your phone you can't use your phone. I'd say the TV is the biggest disappointment. On the plus side there are plugs and USBs everywhere. Also tons of light (I count 7 switches in the main room) even though no overhead light exists (I don't think I've ever been to a hotel with an overhead light... wonder why that is...) The bathroom is nice. It's not huge but it's a good size. Lots of towels, toilet is in its own area which it a little tight, but the mirror is huge and very illuminated and the floors and shower and counters are all marble-esque. The shower is relaxing and the soaps/shampoos are from the bliss spa and seem to be a good quality. The painting of the guy with birds flying out of his hair is a bit creepy to look at when you are on the toilet locked in a small room. The view is ok, nothing breathtaking but it's not horrible. There's a blaze pizza across the street that has awesome unlimited topping pizzas for under $10 and a bunch of other food and bar type places as well as a venue next door. Everything was very clean and the rates were very competitive with hotels in the area. I paid $180 (included all taxes) in January per night. Really cool penthouse suite for our honeymoon. Friendly staff. However, it's the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. We were on the 15th floor and could hear every honk, siren, fight, cheer, jeer, drunken applause, "woooooooooooo"ing... everything from the street below, up to and including some sort of police whistle at eight in the morning. The lack of deadening was insane and our stay was blighted by the sound level being akin to what it feels like to sleep in an apartment in New York City. Avoid if you're a light sleeper, have a chronic illness/chronic fatigue, or just hate hearing drunk people all night long. My guess is that the noise level is due to the fact they possibly expect the guests to be out partying, too. All the other guests we spoke to in the hotel said they had the same experience. I had never been more humiliated or treated indifferently to others before coming here. They allow the bouncers to speak to guests however they like. They also would not follow up with complaints unless you seem to fit a certain image I would not recommend this venue to anyone who doesn't fit the typical pretty type Justin at the door was allowed to treat me and me friends like "trash" neither Marriott or W do anything after expressing how we felt. Pros: beautiful hotel room, loved the layout (king "cool" corner), lovely staff (Cory) who accommodated our stay after we had changed it through central booking and it hadn't gotten through to the hotel system yet. Lots of nightlife in the area... if that's your thing. Good location, near the Boston commons. Cons: great area for nightlife.. lots of LOUD people. Somewhere in the hotel (adjacent room or possibly different floor, couldn't tell) people were partying until 3+ am keeping us awake. Loud music, stomping around, loud voices, fighting and screaming every so often etc. Also across the street from several clubs, where there was also street fighting outside, further keeping us up. For 700 bucks a night, you would assume they would have an exhaust fan in the toilet, but they don't. Nor are the rooms soundproofed, as my daughter and I could hear the drunken convo next door all night long. The lighting is all around cheap, and to top it off, you have to pay for internet unless you are a "member." But the final blow is that my Airpods Max were stolen from the room, although management says that's impossible. All in all, a total rip off. read more

But because of how rude they are and the cleanliness of this supposed 5 star hotel, if I can save one person from going here, I win. I was just going to write a long review of my stay but these people at the W Hotel don't deserve that much of my time. The W Boston is a 5 Star Hotel. At a 5 star hotel, everything should be 5 star, from the pristine rooms to super nice staff all the way down to the cleaning staff. You spent a lot of money if you went to the W so it should be a great experience. Your room shouldn't be super dusty and look like it hasn't been cleaned in a week. I tried to complain and they just throw 15,000 points at you and expect you to go away. I've sent emails like they told me to do, with pictures and videos. They won't respond and when I've called to ask to speak to manager I was told he will not call me back. I kid you not. This is a true story. I wanted to show them what my experience was at their 5 star hotel that I chose as a backdrop to a very special night. Way better hotels in Boston people. As you may gather from reading my previous reviews, my partner is SPG platinum so we always stay at SPG Hotels. This time was because we wanted massages at the Bliss on the 4th floor. We used the valet and they were super friendly. Helped us with bags. And when we left, they'd placed two cold bottles of water in the cup holders. They were also quick with getting the car for us too. When we checked in, the guy at the desk was super friendly and engaging. We chatted for a few minutes while everything was processed. I hadn't been to a W in a while and I forgot how good it smells. We were upgraded for being platinum and ended up in 1502. It's in the top floor of the hotel portion of the building and was a corner room. We had all sorts of things in the room available to purchase. It was a very nice room BUT... We had a hard time with temperature. We were either too hot or cold and the blanket was just one before the sheet so there wasn't much we could do about that. I also wasn't a huge fan of the toilet room within the bathroom. There was very little clearance between the closing door and the edge of the toilet. I also wasn't a fan of the fact hat the room fridge was stocked and unable to be used. And the TV was significantly lower than the bed which made it hard to see. And the iPhone chargers included in the in room charging station didn't work. Additionally, although it didn't bother me or my partner, I think it's important to mention that the bathroom isn't completely enclosed. The shower and tub are separate and the wall behind the tub is a somewhat transparent screen. So if you're looking for privacy when in the bathroom for bathing/showering, this might not be the place for you. Other than that, and something the W can't control, it was SO loud. All night. Sirens, car horns, you name it we heard it. I was surprised because the W in Times Square wasn't that loud. Cool corner review: interesting design and a great open-space feel. However, the modern/edge design makes for a ton of unusable and uncomfortable space. Bathroom is tiny. Depending on the room, the blinds are too high and hard to utilize. We were first in room 427 then switched to 902. Much better room!!! The only bad thing about 902 was the fact that we had two clubs literally outside of our windows, but we were expecting a lively W experience so that wasn't an issue. Staff: amazing people! DON'T STAY HERE if you can at all help it. Customer service is bad, and you will be screwed over one way or another. Not worth the money! Try Le Meridian, Marriott, Hilton, or Doubletree. We were weary travelers who like many other guests just wanted to get through the check in process as quickly as possible so that we could get to our room. First off bad location for the check in desk. Just a few feet away from the restaurant/bar area (see my picture). For some reason they like to act like this is the premier club scene with thumping music, colored lights, and bouncer looking guys out front opening the door for you. Not exactly what you need in the middle of the night when you didn't choose to be part of the scene. There's no room to wait in line, so you're in the middle of the hallway with your luggage in tow, while all the beautiful people dressed up brush past you. Very awkward set up. Plus, we were waiting forever for our turn. We couldn't figure out what was taking the customers in front of us so long. We would soon find out that this place doesn't have their sh$& together. I've stayed at W hotel before. They're known for being posh, beautiful, and a very sexy place to stay. Not this time. When we finally got our key and made our way to the room, we were surprised to find out they put us in the handicap accessible room without asking us ahead of time. Everything smelled like bleach. There was no border to the shower, and a chair inside of it. The toilet was raised up higher. I swear I felt like we were paying good money to sleep in a hospital room. It didn't smell, look or feel sexy, posh, or any of the reasons we chose to be staying at a W hotel in a big city. We called downstairs to ask to be moved to another room, but they said no more were available and that we would have to wait till morning. Too tired to complain any further we went to bed. I felt very uncomfortable being in there. I know my time will come that I'll be needing those type of amenities, but not while I'm on vacation. We also were awaken at 2:30 am when all the bars close to the sounds of bunch of people coming down the street. Traffic noise never let up all night long, and a car accident or something happened a few blocks away with sirens on the way. The windows are not properly insulated, so it felt like you were sleeping on the street. The noise level was awful. We hardly got any sleep that night. The next day we repacked our bags, left our room to go sightseeing. Every time we came or left the hotel big bouncer looking guys would open the doors and greet you nicely but with a stern look on their face. it was not at all inviting. After a certain time of day they require you to show them your room key. Is this a hotel or a club? I don't think they quite know either. When we returned they said our bags would be moved for us. That didn't happen. And again long wait at front desk. While waiting my fiancé overheard many other guests complaining about one thing or another. It seems we weren't the only unhappy guests. How one hotel can f&$@ things up so bad, I don't know. But that's how it was. We went to our first room grabbed our luggage and moved to the second room. We got our new room facing away from the street traffic and all was well. We got a much better sleep that night, but the process we had to go through to get there already ruined my "this is a cool place" vibe. I wasn't as into the decor at this location. It felt sub par to my visit in San Francisco. I was really disappointed. At 3 am, I couldn't sleep so I went downstairs to use the free Wifi in the lobby. The club scene was over and I had the whole lounge area to myself while non English speaking workers cleaned. (I tried speaking to one of them.) Only one guest was at the check in. It was perfectly quiet, no other people to distract or keep this man from getting checked in quickly. Yet, for twenty minutes he just stood there while the front desk clerk starred at her screen looking perplexed and then shake her head. Somehow, they had given away this mans room when he didn't arrive earlier in the evening. That really sucks because the rooms here are supposed to be guaranteed no matter what time you show up when you give your credit card number. The poor guy and his partner were stranded without a bed or place to stay even though they had made a reservation. I don't know what happened to the man, but he kept his cool as he called one of the managers from the W on his phone. I hated our first night, but I suddenly felt grateful I even had a bed to sleep in. My fiancé tried calling around to find us another hotel the next day, but everywhere was already booked. Once your here, that's your only chance to sleep anywhere if you book on a busy weekend. You're at the mercy of the hotel and they don't care how they treat you here as long as they got your money. Please take it from me, don't even take a chance here. There's much better service hotels elsewhere. read more

My husband was able to speak directly to a manager, and they did everything they could to try to salvage the situation. We appreciated their efforts despite our difficult night. However, being disturbed by the bass from the lobby all the way up on the 5th floor is not acceptable for visitors trying to sleep. ------------------------------- We decided to splurge on our Boston trip. They told us we got upgraded so we were excited. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. So why the poor review? Well we were told when we made a reservation that we would have a room on a much higher floor. This matters because I am an extremely light sleeper as is my infant. We got to the "upgraded" room and it was facing the street. We heard every single honk, motorcycle, and ambulance.. and there were more than a few. It felt like we were downgraded, not upgraded. We had early check in so we asked if we could switch to another room due to the noise before the normal check in time. They said they could not accommodate but offered us ear plugs. Unfortunately I cannot use earplugs on my infant because it is a choking hazard and also my kid would pull them out as soon as I put them in. Definitely was not worth the price to have an extremely hard time putting myself and my infant to bed. Worst sleep ever. Pretty sure my stay at a motel for $85/night was better than this. For ex, the dividing "wall" b/w the bathroom and bedroom is rather translucent, so if you value shadow dancing over actual privacy from your co-habitant when stepping out of the shower, you're in luck. The valet & bellmen were standouts, always remembering to address me by name (seriously I don't know how), greeting me as I came and went during my stay. Matthew, you rock. The fitness center was very nicely lit and new, and included a heavy bag & speed bag (complete w/ gloves) as well as some unique cardio machines and yoga equipment. View - 1 star - view from room 805 is not up to par. Expect more than an alley view for the bucks paid. Location - 3 stars - close to Chinatown, Downtown, and Harbor attractions. Room and amenities - 4 stars - free internet and nicely appointed rooms. Beds are comfortable (W Heavenly Beds). Flat screen TV and other modern design highlights. First time staying at the W in Boston. For a supposedly 4 to 5 star hotel, the doormen and bell boys don't always seem to be ready with the door or greeting when you are going out or into the building. I sometimes can't tell the staff apart from the hotel guests. Trendy decor in rooms reminds me of boutique hotels which are full of facades and less substance. The rooms are well-designed - they certainly feel larger than the 350 sq ft that they list as the room size. There is a little seating area by the window with a couple of surprisingly comfy chairs and a little table. They also have a charging station area on the desk so in case you've forgotten your charger, you can charge your iPhone, Android or Blackberry (I can only guess that's what the third charger is for). The look and feel of the hotel and its rooms are classic W Hotel - modern and minimalist. The location is great - just a few blocks from the Boston Common and a short walk to great restaurants in the South End. The hotel is also conveniently located across the street from a Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. The staff were all helpful and nice, especially after they accidentally delivered someone else's package to me. The Wheels staff were particularly helpful. This is not D.C., NYC, or LA so, that kind of tomfoolery is laughable. Establishments seeking "elite" status don't get there by making potential patrons wait 50 minutes in a line when it is under 20 degrees outside, and especially when they have a party inside waiting. People are just going to move on to where it's warmer. Let's get on to the food. This has truly been a disappointing experience that tarnishes my opinion not only of the W, but Starwood Hotels as a corporation. I have filed a complaint with Starwood corporate customer service. This is a case of incredibly questionable consumer practices. While booking two nights with the W, through some odd glitch in the system, I was quoted special rates that are limited to employees of the company. I didn't realize that I had accessed something not available to the general public, and I booked it, reserving with my credit card. I was under the impression that when I gave my information to reserve the stay, I was locked to that price. Shortly after, I received an email from the hotel, stating my attention was needed. Thankfully I review my receipts carefully or I would not have noticed this in time to correct the problem and ended up in Boston with a hotel stay that was suddenly more than 50% higher than promised. Neither the hotel nor the reservation line could figure out why I was quoted this different price. I spoke to multiple reservation agents, including a supervisor. No matter how I accessed the reservation - the site for W hotels exclusively, the site for Starwood Preferred Guests, and the main site of starwoodhotels.com, I kept getting the same prices. The glitch seemed somehow confined to Boston, too, because when I searched for the price of the last Starwood hotel I stayed at (in California), I was not given the special rate. Nevertheless, despite it clearly being an error in their system, the hotel manager refused to honor this price that was clearly and repeatedly quoted to me. On my behalf, the reservations supervisor personally negotiated to have the rate honored as a one time courtesy because it was the result of a mistake, but the manager staunchly refused. The only bright spot was this courtesy of this supervisor, who seemed truly appalled by the entire situation. I understand this was a mistake and it was not a rate I should have been able to access, but the company made absolutely no attempt to make it right. In fact, I was more or less accused of trying to scam them. The rationale provided to me was that the manager couldn't pull it up on his/her end, which implies that I am lying about the situation. Typically, under consumer protection laws, it is illegal to promise one price and then change it after it has been advertised. There are far too many hotels in Boston to worry about missing out on this one (it was simple enough to find a comparable hotel at a reasonable rate that does not involve the bait and switch), but it sadly tarnishes my entire opinion of the Starwood chain. read more

Such poor management by security I was appalled. I came here for a new years eve and felt like I was being treated like a child misbehaving. When the NYE party was over around 2am I proceeded back to the fifth floor where my friend had a room so that I could pick up my coat and leave. As soon as the elevator doors open on 5 I think I got high off second hand smoke! The weed smelled so strong and disgusting I got nauseous. Thank goodness I wasn't paying to sleep there because I would have demanded my money back immediately. Then there was a group of people waiting for someone with a key to let us in the room and when the person with the key finally came there was a big commotion. All of a sudden the security guard starts yelling at everyone "come on quiet down there are guests in the hotel"...um hello yelling loudly at everyone is not going to make it quieter! Also talk about terrible security - no one said anything along the lines of "if you don't have a room key you can't be on the floor" which is what they should have done. Walking around I felt like I was at a frat party. So sad. The immature guests and lack of professionalism blew my mind last night. read more

travel quite a bit for business and have come to prefer the W and Starwood hotels. This particular W has a nice (but small) lobby area and bar and is centrally located. My favorite thing was that there was a Starbucks directly across the street. Although, if you're going to the Convention center, it's not exactly the ideal location. The hotel staff was ok - but not exactly welcoming. Although upon arrival and departure the bellman were very helpful. Front desk staff were a little pretentious and after staying there for 5 days/4 nights - they were not exactly friendly. When coming in and out of the hotel during the stay - help with the front door was iffy - but I can handle that. I will say that the concierge (who looked like a kid), was extremely helpful and accommodating. He took his time in helping us and listened well to what we were looking for. We were there for business, so our time for extra curricular activities was limited. I have to say the room design is the absolute worst I've seen at any hotel. In it's attempt to be contemporary and chic - it was ultimately just NOT functional and was just annoying. The fake wall between room and bathroom was distracting. I'd much prefer a real wall. There was limited counter space in the "bathroom" where the sink was - so our items kept falling onto the floor in the bedroom. Also, since my friend and I sharing the room had different shifts for work - it was so distracting because anytime you turn on the light in the bathroom - it would light up the whole room. Essentially - there was no privacy or way to be quite/discreet. There weren't any luxurious amenities for this hotel - it was definitely not on par with other W hotels or comparable hotels. If you're fortunate enough to be in Boston, I would definitely recommend either the Liberty Hotel, Omni Hotel or Marriott Copley in Boston - all of which are fantastic hotels in the area. read more

I checked out of the W Boston earlier today today with my family. Everything was absolutely perfect and I could not reccomend it any more. What I really want to talk about though is the incredible service I just received on a phone call to the hotel upon arriving home about an hour ago. This is going to sound crazy, but around midnight as we arrived home, I realized my teddy bear was missing. I'm about to be 21 years old and I still sleep with my teddy bear every night. She is my everything. The last time I lost my Betsy I was 3 years old, and I have to say my reaction this time was exactly the same. I was a wreck-a complete disaster. I tore through every suitcase while sobbing my heart out. At 12 AM, I called the W Boston and asked them if they had a lost and found-completely ready to call out of work tomorrow and buy another Amtrak ticket to Massachusetts to get my teddy bear. I knew that I sounded ridiculous on the phone, but I don't think anyone can really appreciate the attachment I have to this bear. For 18 years I have literally slept hugging her to my chest like an infant and losing her is hands down one of my biggest fears. I described my bear to the woman on the phone and she got in touch with security and now my bear is going to be shipped home to me and we will be reunited any day now :) The woman who answered the phone in Boston could NOT have been any kinder or more understanding and professional regarding the situation. I felt like a total idiot both for losing my bear and for calling literally crying on the phone to the hotel at such a late hour. I wish I had been in a better emotional state so that I could have asked for her name because I would love to contact management and tell them what an awesome job she did tonight. I'm going to try to find a way to contact the hotel and give as much detail as I can because I would love for this woman to get the recognition she 110% deserves. Everything about our stay at the W Boston was incredible. The room was great, the staff were all great and my family literally had 0 complaints. The way they handled this situation tonight though was above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. I can not thank everyone at security and the front desk enough. read more

Man oh man, what a great hotel! I had to come to Boston on business and luckily my company booked me a room at this wonderful hotel. Every single employee I came in contact with was friendly and very welcoming. The first girl that checked me in pretty much set the tone for the whole stay. She was extremely informative, friendly and helpful. I'm terrible at remembering names but I THINK her name was Laura. Anyway, the room was fantastic! Super clean and I'm a huge fan of that sexy modern look. The bed was so incredibly comfortable and Lord have mercy, what a damn great shower! I freaking LOVE showers with strong water pressure and the rain style shower here was absolute perfection. I want to fly to Boston and shower here! Haha The location was also great, lots of places to eat near by and it's Boston so there is a Dunkin Donuts like every single block! Can't wait to stay here again! read more

Customer service was outstanding and the hotel is situated right in the middle of everything. I actually stayed here! and no, I didn't go to the bar/lounge downstairs. I love the W hotel the most out of all the Starwood hotels. Mainly because they all seem very cozy and welcoming. And I love their color schemes. We were upgraded to a corner suite (yay! more room for my stuff) The layout is pretty neat. The bed is pretty much in the middle of the room, the desk is behind it up against the wall, the couch in the corner by the huge windows and the flat-screen tv next to the couch in front of the bed. Bathroom is pretty too. I like their hair dryers, they're high powered and dries my hair faster than let's say the hair fryers the Sheraton has. The shower is spacious and nice also. As for the noise from the bar downstairs that some of the other reviewers complained about, I didn't hear any but that's because I passed out at around midnight. But it made it hard for the boyfriend to fall asleep since he was still awake when the bar closed. We took advantage the boyfriend's starhot rate and ordered food from Market through room service for a discounted price. The crab fritters were soft, but still very good. The clam chowder was great and the beef sirloin with gingered mushrooms and soy-caramel sauce was AMAZING! You have to try it. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but the ones who I did encounter were helpful. You know, opening the door and greeting you. All of them just happen to be male. Marriot please pay attention to this hotel!....From the walk in after a mixed up flight with lots of waiting at the airport the story begins with JOE. He checked us in with grace and kindness. Had all 4 rooms specified for each family member , one bed vs two, ALL ON THE SAME FLOOR AND ORGANIZED. Then so hungry we met this stunning dynamic wait staff JESSICA...that ended up being our waitress to my whole weekend. Hats off she made me and my family so welcomed and the kids loved her so much they ate their meals here. She really knew how to run the clients and staff and always with a smile. The cleaning lady even was friendly and efficient. The food and beverage manager SHANNON later met us to thank us for evertything and we are now deciding to have our next event here all because of your staff above. A few nights more i'll be ambassador with Marriot and NOW AFTER THIS STAY I PICKED THE CORRECT HOTEL BRAND. read more

We had a great stay here! Every employee we interacted with, from the valet team to the front desk staff, was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable and the location was ideal for getting around the city. I loved the attention to detail including the mats in the elevator that changed throughout the day, loaning out umbrellas to guests, and offering bag check for late departures. Really like this W and on par with the ones in FL. Much nicer than the one in Times Square. I'm on the 8th floor and the room is very nice and spacious with a large bathroom. The bed is nice and comfortable and the Bluetooth speakers are pretty cool. The only tech feature not working is the mobile phone room key. My wife and I had drinks at the lobby bar and not only were they reasonably priced ($25 for two drinks) they were also good and strong drinks. Room service was excellent as well with friendly delivery and good food. I just wish they would have the steak and eggs like the Fort Lauderdale and South Beach W's. read more

Checking in, I was disappointed to find out that the higher level room reserved was not available yet, and unfortunately, I was stuck with a room on level 4, which meant that it was extremely loud at night on the weekends with all the party people. The staff that checked me in tried to make me feel better by telling me that the ceiling is higher and that it is more spacious. However, he failed to tell me that the W Hotel's office is also on the 4th floor, as well as the gym, so there's quite a bit of foot traffic even on the 4th floor as well. Generally, they will also offer some sort of credit for the inconveniences but unfortunately not the case this time. Some of the items in the room also had issues. They charging station they had set up had a few connections broken, and the DVD player didn't work. The room also didn't look as clean and sleek as other Ws. The hotel itself is not bad. Small lobby, with a lounge area and a small bar. The lounge is cool, especially at night. The location is probably the best thing about the W Boston. From the airport, we took the Silver line and had a short trek through Chinatown to the hotel. It is located close to Boston Commons, and several T stations. It was really easy to get on different lines just to explore Boston. Boston is also small enough that you can walk to anywhere within a reasonable amount of time. read more

This is the W hotel? This hotel was the absolute worst hotel I have stayed at. The employees were protesting outside the hotel and we couldn't even get in. They had security at the door like it was a night club. This was the worst interaction with the limited employees. Also to not offer and room service or dinner at the the hotel. So I paid full price for full service and I got nothing! You honestly should be ashamed! If you have protesting then you should give your guest an opportunity to cancel and go elsewhere. The entire experience was impressive. The person who checked us in Gildas, went well above and beyond to make sure that our group had a great experience. During the one less then pleasant experience outside of the hotels control, they did everything possible to take corrective measures. Gildas left a personalized handwritten note under our door the next day apologizing for the issue. The service was above and beyond. After honoring our request for a late check out at 1PM, they honored the additional request to extend it even further. The rooms are well sized, with many amenities. We can talk about the "cool" factor of the hotel, and it gets points for that. What impressed me was the fit and finish, and service. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Not going to lie. I am usually a massive whore to W hotels since most of them are magnificent, but I really feel like this W was lacking on numerous levels. The rooms smelled like stale old garbage, there was no pool, the cleaning people were incessantly trying to get into the room to clean at 8 am for the three days we stayed there regardless of the sign on the door, the drinks were over priced, the bar service wasn't that great, and the concierge was clueless. The best part about this specific W hotel is the location. It is in one of the best parts of Boston and is accessible to everything that we wanted to see. If location is what you need, this W will serve you well. read more

Is it a Hotel or a Disco, very noisy on the weekends, you have to try and get a high floor away from the noise. Rooms are "modern chic" in the designers mind its cool, but not very functional. Clean modern and noisy. read more

I stayed in the cool corner room (room 828). It's a great room and if you've been to cool corners in other W's you know you are in for something different. The room is on the corner (surprise!) with a good view of the city on both sides. Two things stand out about this room: 1) the desk is BEHIND the bed facing the opposite way; it's a nice alternate use of space with the bed actually in the middle of the room. The bed is separated by a steel curtain that you can still see through but operations like a divider. 2) The room as a HUGE Bang & Olufsen CD player! If you know anything about audio, you know that Bang & Olufsen you know what I mean. Yeah its an old model, but this is different than the typical Bose stereos. A couple of other notes: The shower is relatively small but is covered three sides and floor with marble. The shower-head is a no-name fixture... what happen to the double speakman shower heads? or the full body showers? I guess I'm spoiled. Overall great room! Highly recommended for having fun in the city and hanging out at night. read more

Pricey but upscale. Rooms aren't all the same although belongs to the same category such as 2 beds or 1 king bed. My friend got a smaller room but has weird lay out of bed and foyer. Mine was bigger but no foyer No swimming pool, we were told we can get free access to Sheraton hotel pool The lobby is very cozy, great for just having wine near fireplace. read more
