Never, ever again. I'm a W Boston cliche. I read all the reviews and did the whole "well, people are salty, I won't be like that when I'm there". YES, you will. It's midnight and my room is vibrating from the "club" (hotel lobby) SEVEN stories below me. It's seriously competing with the sirens, horns and music coming from the street through my apparently thin windows. Long, dark presumably female hairs in the bathtub (I'm a short haired guy), not sure what the housekeeping standards are here.. Bathroom smells stale or mildew-y (picture a wet dog), no idea why. And in true review cliche fashion, yes, I was physically stopped (arm across the entrance) by security tonight as I returned from dinner, assuming I'm a drugged out club goer trying to skirt the cover charge. Meanwhile, I'm a VP traveling on business, but let me throw my arms up in surrender and fumble through my pockets to find my room key so you don't punch me in my face. I can really appreciate crowd control measures in a hotel but this is such low level and antiquated crowd control that it's insulting. This is NOT, NOT, NOT a luxury hotel.
If you're a twenty-something party goer looking for the usual late night drama in a big city, this is the hotel for you! If you're ANYONE else, don't do it. No seriously, DON'T DO IT, You'll be me typing a review at midnight because you're so pissed that you fell for it. I wish I hadn't and NEVER will again, despite being a Titanium Marriot member (I know, no one cares including this hotel). What a let down, the whole "fun brand" (W hotel) of the Marriot portfolio is starting to become an incredibly reliable disappointment. I travel frequently all over the country and have hit most of the major city W hotels over the the years. There's a coincidental phenomena occurring across the country of this hotel brand forgetting who funds it and catering to the 20-somethings for the party scene, as if that can sustain the revenue. Such a shame as it's all so correctable, but they never will. Lesson learned, but never again, you are a stain on the Boston hotel scene W. Now go ahead and reply with "we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations" or whatever you copy/paste to reviews like this. This has all the bones to be a phenomenal hotel, but instead it's another of many 3.5 star hotels in Boston that just want to show up in search results. Shame W Boston, shame.. read more
