I personally enjoyed this hotel. Reading some of the 1 star ratings I almost get a feeling that they were rating someplace else. As with most hotels in Boston parking is pricey at $65/night. Not unusual at all. However, this says adjacent to Orange line Tufts station. This was our primary means of transportation. You can get anywhere in the city as long as you don't mind short walks. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Really had no complaints about this location.

Located across from Tufts Medical center this Doubletree has some definite pros and a couple cons that shouldn't be overlooked. I'll start with the pros: Staff is super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They will hold your luggage if you arrive prior to check in and want to start your trip minus luggage. Restaurant/bar on sight serving breakfast and dinner. Starbucks downstairs - they do not participate in the rewards program Rooms are clean. Rooms are updated despite some aspects of the hotel showing the true age. Very close to Chinatown Pretty close to a couple big public transportation spots. Centrally located between the North End and Back Bay. Now the cons: Parking is valet only and I believe $63/day I had read prior that there might be some ambulance noise throughout the day and night as there is an emergency room right across the street. That part is true to some extent. We found more ambulance noise to occur during daylight hours than night but if you are a light or late sleeper this may be an issue. Now for the biggest, most egregious con we encountered at this property (and it's not the property, more the proximity). Just outside our window to the right is a club. This club apparently lets out at 2am. On both nights we stayed, around 2 am we were awakened to the most obnoxious, inconsiderate display of loud blaring music playing in the street. All the club goers were leaving or dancing in the street without a care to people in hotels, apts, or even the children's hospital right there. When I called downstairs, it seemed like this was a first time for them too and said an event just let out down the street and they have called the police to clear the street. The police took about 15-20 mins to arrive and just them showing up with some lights dispersed the crowds and the music stopped. We could finally go back to sleep. However when this occurred again the next night with the same exact music blaring but a little before 2 am, we were a little less convinced this was a first time happening. Front desk again said that the police were called. This time took about 15 minutes but it required the police to stay on sight for probably another 15 minutes to disperse the crowds and stop the music. While outside behavior is not the fault of the hotel, it is definitely something to consider if you need uninterrupted beauty sleep. I can sleep through just about anything and this was extreme. Would I stay here again? Maybe. If I stayed here again , I'd probably ask for a higher floor (we were on 4) and one not facing that club area. I'd also probably look at the calendar for the club and see if they had any events going on the nights I was interested.

This location is great! They are off the Tufts Medical Center Orange Line exit. The Green Line is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Chinatown is near by. There's a Starbucks on the street level and valet is $59. Take the SL4 to go to South Station if you're going back to the airport. Checking in was okay. My room wasn't ready because I arrived very early. I was able to leave my suitcase with the hotel until my room was ready. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. There is the Wisteria restaurant and a bar on the property. They have a fitness center and small courtyard. I didn't have the opportunity to, but you can visit the YMCA next door as long as you ares staying at DoubleTree. There is a convenience store right before you get to the elevators. The hotel property was clean and the room was clean. I stayed in a two-bed room and the beds were pretty small, but very comfortable. I loved the big pillows on the bed. The room comes with a small refrigerator and microwave. I'd love to stay here again.

Amazing location right next to Chinatown, and you get to use the YMCA next door during your stay. I checked into a room facing the courtyard since I didn't want any noise from the street side. It was very quiet and my room was clean. Boston Common is minutes away. And the staff at the front desk is very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend staying here.

Basic hotel in a great location! Minutes away from Tufts Station, super close to Chinatown (the area and the station), and also walkable to the theater district, downtown crossing, and to the Boston Common. We even walked all the way to the Boston Tea Party museum. I guess this area is super walkable! Room amenities were simple but functional. Has a microwave and fridge (which was really icy). Aside from soap, shampoo, and conditioner, you can request toothbrush and toothpaste as well. There's a clothesline in the bathroom. There are two elevators servicing six floors, but they're super slow, faster to take the stairs. Floorboards were really creaky! Even the floor above us. Also we found a dime and an eyeliner on the floor, at different spots of the room. There's a fitness center but we didn't check it out. We were told we could use the facilities (presumably for laundry) at the Wang YMCA (adjacent and connected) but we didn't use them. Restaurant food (dinner and breakfast) was mediocre. Service was ok, our server was sweet and attentive but not what I'd expect from a hotel establishment. We were offered the option of food credit or points. Disappointingly, we cannot apply the credit to the snacks in the gift shop (the other Hilton properties we stayed at had no problem with this, but maybe because they're Doubletree?) After the first night I decided to change to points. Free food that doesn't taste good is just a waste of stomach space! Live music on Friday evening in the lobby. Front desk service varies. Tureya (I think? From Casablanca, Morocco; sorry for misspelling) was super nice and accommodating. We were also able to borrow some stationery and supplies to pack a box for mailing (post office in Chinatown area is within walking distance as well).

I was pretty happy staying here. Very clean room and somewhat spacious. The hotel is quiet. They have a Starbucks right downstairs. They also give you warm chocolate cookies upon check in. Sometimes it is the little things. I do not like the shampoo, conditioner and body wash They offer. Luckily I brought my own. This hotel is in a good location. Everything is walkable. Macy's, North End, Great restaurants, etc. The front desk staff were all awesome. Sean was super helpful. They have a restaurant there but it did not look appealing. The bar on the other hand was. They have some great local craft beers. They also have a nice store to buy things you might have forgotten. We had a view of a hospital across the way. Every night I saw a lady sitting bedside with I assume a family member. We always have to be grateful for what we do have and count our blessings.

I stayed here again on a business trip for 4 nights. I enjoyed the experience and the value received. Great service - the front desk staff was quick, efficient, attentive, and friendly. I particularly liked how they communicated over text in making sure everything with the stay was comfortable. Decent gym - nice, spacious gym with free weights, pull up bar, stability balls. As a guest, you also have free access to the adjacent YMCA which has a full fitness center along with workout classes. Be sure to check the YMCA hours as they had changed them post-covid. Location - close to the airport. Walking distance to Theater District and Chinatown. Just google restaurants/bars if you are looking to grab a bite or a drink. If you want to load up on water/small groceries, there's a 7-11 five minutes away walking distance. Restaurant/Bar/Starbucks in lobby. Convenient if you don't want to leave the hotel. I will stay here again when in town for business.

This hotel is located in Chinatown, and if you haven't been to Chinatown, it's pretty damn dirty down there. The hotel was nice with historical value and the service is very nice too. But there was an odd smell to the hotel that I just couldn't get over overall though the hotel is in a great location to go explore South Boston and Chinatown.

    Aida C.

clean hotel, kind valet staff, we were given a complimentary warm cookie upon check-in and there was live music the night we arrived. the location of the hotel itself is also nice, as it's near plenty of restaurants, a theater, the Royale, and in close range to plenty of Boston's main attractions. there's also a restaurant and bar attached to the hotel, as well as a Starbucks. it was unfortunate that there weren't many channels available to watch on the TV and also no way to purchase movies. nonetheless, i would return for a quick overnight trip, but nothing long.

"View" from my room. Loud shouting and dodge ball hitting the window.

Highly recommended; we stayed in a standard room rather than one of the converted travel-trailer suites.

On the surface, this hotel presents as polished and upscale, but over time it became clear that it is a full-on Monet--looks good at a glance, but the closer you get, the more issues appear. During my stay, I was required to move rooms three times--once voluntarily after an upgrade, and twice due to serious maintenance issues, including a sprinkler-system flood. In subsequent rooms, I experienced repeated heating failures, inconsistent hot water, and even a shower head detaching during use. The heating issues were ongoing and never fully resolved. On multiple occasions, my room dropped to 66-67 degrees despite the thermostat being set to 80. Even after maintenance visits, the room never consistently warmed beyond 75 degrees. On the morning before my departure, I woke to cold air blowing again, confirming the problem persisted through the end of my stay. Management follow-through was disappointing. Promises to check back or assist were not kept, and communication was inconsistent at best. While beverage credit was offered, it did not come close to addressing the cumulative disruption, lack of rest, and stress caused by ongoing room issues over nearly seven weeks. The saving grace of this hotel was the weekday bartender, Rebecca. Monday through Friday, she greeted my colleagues and me with genuine warmth, professionalism, and grace after very long workdays. She was consistently excellent. Unfortunately, that level of service was not present on weekends, and our group ultimately chose to avoid the hotel bar until Rebecca returned. That said, I do want to acknowledge Shirley, Wendy, James, and Nate, who were consistently kind, professional, and helpful, as well as the valet staff, who were always efficient and courteous. This hotel may work for a very short stay if expectations are modest. For long-term or extended stays, however, the operational issues, lack of follow-through, and inconsistent hospitality do not align with the image or price point the property presents.

That time due to everything going on in the world with minimal travel we enjoyed a cheap rate for an entire weekend with probably the best view offered for the hotel of TD Garden as well as the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge. Which I know it's just a bridge but it was a nice sight for an in-city view. This most recent stay was due to a concert at TD Garden my wife and I were in town for. Which I will say if you are looking for a place to stay for an event at TD Garden, good luck finding a better option than here! Check in staff and valet workers were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Rates were very reasonable for end of summer and with a concert so close. Room was smaller this stay around and our view was more of just a building with a small glance of TD Garden if you looked to the side. Overall a very clean room and still a good amount of space. Can not think of any complaints for our stay and would stay here again. They offer valet parking and anytime we needed the car it was quick to get it back. Inside the lobby/first floor they have plenty of seating and what they dub "The Bistro" that offers breakfast, dinner, and full bar and I believe Starbucks drinks too. Location wise it is quite ideal, obviously if your activities/work is in this area of Boston. Besides TD Garden it is also close to North station along with plenty of food and drink options. Personally for a morning coffee or matcha I say check out Blank Street Coffee, then food wise I would say take a quick walk to the North End or closer try Tavern In The Square. Definitely a hotel worth looking into while visiting Boston!

The Four Seasons also does this interesting thing where they give you a liquor that fits with your tea order, to be added if you wish or drank by itself. I had a sip of mine and from someone else's, a bit strong for me but a bailey's one was alright. I'm fine with just tea myself! As for the food, this year's high tea was one of the best I've had.
