New W Hotel opened 2 months ago. Beautiful facility. Easy parking or valet. Checked in on a Saturday night with a long line formed to get into the lobby bar. The doorman helped us bypass the line and head to reception desk. Check in was a breeze. The room was beautiful. Bed super comfortable, large soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower, all the bath amenities you expect. The room was a little dirty where the bar and cocktail shaker sat... someone spilled drinks. Otherwise, everything else was clean and new. One complaint... the lobby bar. It was very crowded on a Saturday night and drink service was very slow. The bartenders have to use measuring cups for any liquor not in the speed racks. It so slows the process.. We gave up trying to get a second round. They also didn't appear happy with the crush of people. It was an unfriendly vibe. Please hire pros and let them speed pour. read more

No place to go for breakfast, toilet room had motion lights, bright lights, woke you up every time you got up to use it. The staff was very helpful and super friendly. I give a 5 star review to the hotel service staff at the restaurant and bar. However, as this pertains to the security staff at the W, I would give negative stars due to their underwhelming skill set in problem solving a challenging situation. They showed total and complete racism and prejudice towards patrons of the establishment who had reasonable grievances. As a woman with an Anglo-Saxon background this was dis-heartening and disgusting to experience. I was able to express my concern with behaviors expressed without punishment while a man of different race was almost tackled for the same concern. Beautifully modern lobby, albeit a bit of a strange experience if you were trying to find the hotel to check-in. It is kind of over the river and through the woods, around the corner and beyond the stores and restaurants. There is a much younger audience it seems to be playing towards with the modern art and loud music coming from the hotel bar and lounge right next to the concierge area on a Thursday evening. It is definitely a sight for sore eyes, and a welcome addition to the great options for accommodations in the downtown Bellevue area. read more

Was in Seattle area for work and chose this W for location. Was surprised to hear it had only been open a week. The location is REALLY hard to find but when I called the hotel to get the actual address, the gentleman acknowledged the issue and told me what address to use and what to look for. Once there, the layout is a bit weird to find the lobby (needs signage to explain) but once you're inside, it's gorgeous! The staff was friendly, attentive and happy! The room was so sexy! I was there by myself but still admired the glass shower and gorgeous bed/sitting area. I love a good hotel room and this was it. Unfortunately, I was woken up at 6 am with construction noise that did NOT make me happy. Called the front desk and there was basically nothing they could do. The frustration was how did they not contract any neighboring construction to start after at least 8:30 am?! However, once I voiced this to the front desk folks on my way out for the day, I was comped on my parking and given a higher room in the opposite side of the hotel. They brought my new room key up to my room and even offered to carry my items to the room for me. I also received a personalized note followed by an email from the hotel manager after I checked out. I was VERY happy with the level of service which to me, makes all the difference. This hotel was modern, pleasing to the eye and had amazing service. It's a win, win. read more

It's so important to practice cleanliness and guest care always in a hotel, and especially at times where it's important to be trusted by visitors during a pandemic! The wildfires have brought a smoke cloud into Washington, so my wife and I decided it would be best to stay a few days in a hotel where we could have conditioned air and closed windows. We chose the W because it is in a high-end part of town and is listed amongst the newer hotels. Upon check-in there was an obvious staff shortage as quests were lined up with social distancing. I was surprised to see additional staff behind closed check-in stands, without helping the one person that was checking people in. Once assigned to our room, we settled in and was startled to find lip gloss and tissue from previous guests on the floor near our bed. How clean can a room be and how could Covid 19 protocols be in place with such an obvious miss in cleanliness standards. In the morning after a not so restful sleep, all this was accentuated by my wife pointing out the amount of dust on the window sills of our room. I went downstairs and talked to the young lady at the desk about our findings. She was apologetic and offered to move us to another room for our second-day stay, on the same floor, and after the housekeeping manager checks and approves it. We gladly accepted the apology and the new room. That evening the phone in our room rang and the young lady checked on our satisfaction. She also without prompting told us that a $75 breakfast voucher was put on our account so that we could order breakfast in, the next morning. We awoke at 8:30 and ordered breakfast at 9am. We waited until 11 and our breakfast never came. We decided to check out and not spend another minute at such a poorly managed property! The front desk attempted to apologize again however our trust has been destroyed at this time and empty apologies are just that! I don't advise staying here for any reason or occasion. Our years of loyalty to the Marriot brands has been truly damaged by understaffing, poor if not present at all management, and dirty rooms. BEWARE! read more

Very clean hotel and room. Gave us an early noon check-in on Saturday, Labor Day weekend. Desk cleek moved us up to higher floor. Nice view to the east looking at the cascades and beautiful Bellevue skyline. Sunrise was spectacular. Room was just as modern and clever styling as the pictures. First time here and with the lower rates we could afford it now. Covid-19 protocols were followed. Almost everything was open except for the Living Room Bar. The bar itself was not in operation for drinks, but the entire room and outdoor patio was open for guests to enjoy. We had the area to ourselves for an hour. Don't tell, but we brought our own cocktails there. Horel staff was great. Got us the extra bathrobe needed. Right in downtown Bellevue with free weekend parking. Every part of Bellevue was clean and easy to get around. We walked everywhere easily. No crowds, got great tables and services at all places. If the rates stay low during Covid-19, we'll have to do another stay-cation. read more

The two people that helped us weren't familiar with anything on the menu and slow (hardly sent food back but we did). The upside was it wasn't nearly as crowded as it was later that evening. Curious what it's like sleeping at the W in their most expensive suite. Well I constantly get waken up in the middle of the night and throughout the day to weird noises. The Good: Clean, modern, hip with fun artwork. The Terrible: Service. Never experienced so much attitude from anyone working in the CUSTOMER SERVICE industry. Last month my brother and his then fiancée - now wife, booked 2 separate rooms here and informed the hotel that this was a wedding party. Other couples in the party also booked here (total of 6 rooms). I'd say that it's pretty standard in the wedding world that the groomsmen and bridesmaids get ready in the respective rooms right? That includes makeup artists and hair stylists. My fiancé and I stayed at a hotel next door and walked over to the W to go to the rooms to get ready and was greeted with nothing but an annoyed stare by the girl at the front desk. Not even a "Hello! How can I help you?" I spoke first, "Hi I'm here for the wedding party..." She replied shortly, "What room number?" I tell her the room number. "What's the last name?" I tell her and she rolls her eyes, gets on her radio and calls someone to let us up the elevator. "Okay... thank you." I say. While in the room getting ready I disregarded the attitude and forgot about it until one of the other bridesmaids showed up later and called us from the lobby because the front desk girl would not allow her up to the room! One of the wedding party girls spoke to the front desk and told her that we all needed to get ready for the wedding together and that some were customers who had rooms booked there as well. The front desk replied with, "It has nothing to do with how many rooms you have. It has to do with how many people you have in the room. It's a fire hazard." WTH!? I've never heard of a hotel cracking down on wedding parties getting ready together for a few hours. Have they never heard of that before?? Is this not a customary thing to do before a wedding? When the wedding photographer showed up, he also commented on the rudeness of the front desk. (Side note: the photographer has been voted multiple times as one of the top PNW wedding photographers by the Knot magazine. He has photographed hundreds of weddings and even he was surprised by our treatment!) With that said, after getting ready, we started taking photos near the lobby and around the hotel. Again with attitude from the desk. Turns out that you have to let the hotel know in advance if you're going to do photos so that they can CHARGE you. WTH!? First off, I've never heard of a hotel charging you to take photos on the premises. Second, why didn't they communicate that to my brother in the first place when he booked the hotel rooms? It's not like he gets married everyday and knows this! Because again, isn't taking photos at the hotel pretty customary if there's a wedding party present? Apparently this hotel lacks not only customer service but communication as well. Even the night before I called the hotel to make sure to put a mini fridge in the bride and grooms rooms so we can store food for the wedding party while we have fresh snacks to get ready. Nope. Neither had the fridges, they had to call for them again. Lastly as a whole, we were a respectable group who were enjoying this special day with my brother and his now wife. It was not a busy day at the hotel and we were not in the way of other customers staying there, in fact, passerby's were very excited to see us and even congratulated the couple. It is just a damn shame that this particular W Hotel had to be pretentious jerks to us on a very special day. I am incredibly disappointed at the lack of professionalism from the front desk and how it ALMOST ruined such a beautiful day. Great place to stay! It is near a lot of shopping, a movie theater, and good food, all of it is walking distance. Loved the room. Staff was very friendly, especially Alexandria. The hotel and front desk staff were OUTSTANDING! i've been to many W hotels and Marriott hotels throughout the US and We are never disappointed. There's always a consistency of excellence and quality about each location we've stayed at. However, my wife and I decided to check out the hotel lounge bar and we're extremely disappointed. When did the W Hotel start hiring strippers, the girl behind the bar literally had a hooker dress that refilled all of her skin and tasteless tattoos. She also had a tattoo on her face. While she was mixing our drinks shaking our cocktails in Shaker, you could see her armpits and flaky white deodorant look like it Was dropping everywhere hopefully not in our drinks. She put vodka in our margarita, and when we asked if she could Remake it, because we clearly saw vodka being put into our Marita she denied it and rolled her eyes while making another one? Even that margarita tasted terrible, maybe she was a brand new bartender, but How does a bartender at the W Hotel not know how to make a simple margarita, that's almost impossible to do. She wasn't very nice and didn't smile at us. Not Once, maybe because we were paying with Complementary drink cards that we received when we check in, maybe she thought because they were free We weren't gonna to tip, I've been a restaurant and Bar trainer for 20 yrs up and down the east coast. We were in town for a buddies wedding and thought the W would be a Great place for all of us to spend time together before the wedding. I was considered talking to the food and beverage manager to ask if I can train their their bartenders on etiquette and professionalism, for they were lacking extremely. Last Time we were here, the bartenders, had, classy uniforms, and look professional this time it looks like a cross between a strip club, and a dive bar, boo on you for letting your staff look that way. read more

W Bellevue is already open for business! I see the 3 reviews so far indicate growing pains. I didn't stay here yet. Just came to explore the new Expansion and was just captivated by the public spaces - so colourful and engaging. The manager welcomed us to walk around and check it out. I asked about Conference facilities so she invited me to walk around on my own upstairs to check out their open lounge area. She wasn't able to show me the meeting rooms but no matter. The Cozy Room is at $250/night right now which makes it competitive with all the hotels around it I think, and they'll fill up easily if they keep it like that, so likely they will be going up on weekdays, especially when conferences are in town. They have a very Virgin America vibe about them. I will definitely recommend that any visitors put this in their consideration list, and if I can spot a deal I might even opt for a staycation one of these days! Good luck, W! read more

OK when we first walked into the room we were really impressed with the shower being all glass and the fact that it was an open concept room. We had fun with the little gadgets on the bedside and even liked the window seating area to an extent. But at the end of all of the visual items that are really up-to-date in modern, staying in this hotel all comes down to one practical Standard thing; the bed being comfortable. And although most people can get a good nights rest on a beer that's pretty firm, other people such as my wife and I really enjoy a soft supple mattress. This hotel does not have a comfortable bed in our opinion. And when we raised the question if there was any amenity or additive that could be given to us to make our state comfortable we were told, "Oh Yeah, we can put a pillow topper on your mattress to take care of the furnace and uncomfortability." Well just like any body going to a used car dealership, Madison (Guest services Rep) sold us on something else. We never got a pillow topper and the Service desk person told us on two separate occasions on the same day that she would make sure that we got a pillow topper. At the end of the day before we were to come back and go to sleep she informed us that she was told that there was no option for a pillow topper. Needless to say it is 5 AM in the morning and I am leaving this review because I woke up with neck and back problems. Oh and did I mention that we called room service for some water and it never arrived no one never knocked on our door!So needless to say this is our first and last stay with this hotel here. There's even a closet door that we can't even open. So for all of its wow factor and up-to-date amenities within the room. None of that means anything if you can't sleep soundly at night. We will stay on the other hand we enjoy the quietness of the room and not hearing the neighbors on the other side of the wall. ButAll of that aside, if I can't sleep comfortably all of the aforementioned mentioned complements mean nothing! Over sold and under delivered here. read more

I'm a preferred SPG guest. This was my dinner that arrived last night. I really tried to refrain from posting a public review because I overall enjoy W hotels. However, the current management at the Bellevue location is trying to tell me that this is a "sprouted potato", and not an insect at all! This is clearly a giant cockroach!!!! I have a huge phobia of them and have not been able to consume or keep down a single thing since the incident...this photograph literally makes me vomit! The waiter, when called upon, immediately grabbed the roach and balled it up in his fists. I informed him that I've already photographed the situation. Management attempted to comp me $100 dollars as a form of resolution, but then today denied that this was an actual insect! I'm beyond disgusted at the actual situation, however, the fact that they are trying to tell me that this is a "potato" repulses me beyond belief! This is not a company that cares if you're a preferred or valued member, this is a company that wants you to believe that you're an imbecile and that this GIANT ROACH is a potato! I actually have a science degree, unlike the management who "tested the potato" (overnight in their state of the art hospitality lab) and am able to identify a cockroach when I see one. The most hilarious aspect of their "potato" claim is that I didn't even order potatoes!!!! I had a side of mixed greens. What I'm trying to say is, unless you enjoy random "potatoes" with your fish, don't waste your money at this roach infested institution. read more

This is what hospitality should be like! Also, I loved the room - the shower was massive, beds were very good, and I didn't know a couch could be that comfortable. I love their Living Room bar, with a great outdoor seating area. Location-wise, it's also very convenient, with good food (both breakfast and dinner) options close by. Spent my birthday at the W this weekend. Had an amazing time! Mentioned that we were celebrating and half an hour after check in, they sent up a nice bottle of champagne and a cake! They also upgraded us to a suite. This hotel is gorgeous on it's own but the service takes it to a whole other level. This is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back. read more

This hotel is connected to Lincoln Square and convenient for my fellow foodies and shopaholics! Our last stay was on New Years Eve. The stay was beyond disappointing for us and our out of town guests. I attempted to correct the issue throughout my stay several times, with no resolution. I did receive a follow up call from a manager to review the issues and take note to address for future guests. She also issued SPG points...... I gave a 1 star as I truly feel she listened to my concerns and will address with her team. Points literally do nothing for me, however the gesture was appreciated. This was an over priced horrible experience from the moment we got there. Besides the room being clean- as it should be- there is nothing here worth the money. It started at check in. The guy who checked us in was absolutely passive aggressive. As 2 young girls we could tell there was a very judgmental undertone to his demeanor. He said we needed a debit card for the incidental fee- no problem. My friend (who the reservation was under for her birthday) could not find hers so I gave mine. He informed us that the fee was $150. We were shocked but not surprised since it was a nice hotel. I was guaranteed that the debit card on file used to book the room would pay for the room itself and that my card was only being ran for the $150 incidentals. Because this amount was higher than anything I have ever paid (and I have stayed in 5 star hotels...), I asked how long it would take to be refunded and was told 5-10 days. I asked if a credit card instead would be faster, and the gentleman next to him said yes, about 3 days. I used my credit card, and it was declined not once but twice- even when I showed him I had absolutely more than enough to cover, again, the $150 fee. He laughed, said "Hm not sure" and ran it again. Declined. So I gave him my debit card. Fast forward- my friends and I head down to the lounge to celebrate. I receive an email from my credit card company saying there had been a declination and I realized it was because the amount was MUCH higher than what the incidental fee was. I checked my bank account and saw that over $800 had been drafted. Not only did they charge me for the room, plus the incidentals, they charged me TWICE. We went straight to the desk where the woman told us it was in fact charged twice, and to make it up gave us $40 drink vouchers...... for a missing $800.... (she was very helpful, I do not blame her at all for this. I know that was all she could do.) By the time we finished with her and went to meet the rest of the party in the lounge, I was informed they were not accepting anyone at that time. BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN DEALING WITH AN $800 OVERCHARGE AT THE FRONT DESK. I explained my entire party was in there already and after he consulted with another worker and made us wait 10 more minutes, they escorted us straight to our party, told us we had to sit separately, and that we had missed last call, and we could no longer order a drink. Again- BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN AT THE DESK DEALING WITH AN OVERCHARGE. It is 3 days later and I have yet to see a dime of my $800 refunded back to me. Never has it taken this long for even an incidental fee to be handed back. I understand the process of refunding- but when it is as obvious as an error like that on their part- it needs to, and can be, sent back immediately. I have called and spoke with them twice. Once with a manager. I have bills to pay, car payments to make, and this was absolutely no where near an $800/per night experience. Absolutely horrible. God forbid they offer ANYTHING to make up for this. The $40 drink voucher barely covered a $30 mini bottle of Chateau St Michelle- which could have been purchased for $4 at Safeway. The supervisor has now told me an accountant will reach out tomorrow to go over with me where we are in the process of the refund. Again- 4 days later. I will never spend a dime here again. There are far better hotels in the Bellevue and Seattle area that I know I can trust. This is not one of them. When a mistake is made, it needs to be rectified immediately. Their outdoor bar patio is a unique venue in Bellevue, with a fireplace and cozy swing chairs. But beware: they add an up-charge for any drinks served neat, with no warning on the menu. They also over-charged is on other items on our bar tab, which they begrudgingly corrected... but then a duplicate charge showed up on our credit card statement a week later. So, watch your bill and your cc statement like a hawk or you might end up with $80 in over-charges like we did. read more

First of all - I got hustled for an extra $20 from the valet guy, they didn't want to let us into the bar because my friend had a short sleeve button down (and looked very good in it), there was hardly anyone in the bar on a Friday night, and we got asked to leave. Disrespectful experience, as an spg gold member I wish this place was as great as all the other W's and spg hotels around the world. Unfortunately- just another snobby, uppity, terrible place in Bellevue- proving that the Bellevue night life scene has no soul, and doesn't reflect the vibes of Seattle, I only feel bad that this is what some people will consider a "Seattle" experience because they won't know any better. One of my servers was nice and somehow we ended up having to flag down another lady...but she made a bunch of passive aggressive comments when we asked about splitting the check. I don't think she's there anymore. Otherwise, the food wasn't very good either and they overcooked a lot of the things we ordered. The meatballs could be really good, but was really dry. I know they're newly open and are looking to figure out the kinks so hopefully in a few more months I'll come back and give this place a 5 star! read more

The w is a great space for drinks because it has outdoor space and Indoor fireplaces. The food is your typical bar food and nothing surprising. The service is slow and the tab does not break down the drinks if you leave your card. For example, I was charged for 4 bottles of champagne when I explicitly asked for only 3 bottles. The waitress refused to listen to me when I said to return it since I wanted only 3. She actually opened it after I said I didn't want it. When I gave her a poor tip she told everyone in my group. I am so disappointed in my waitress and experience that it negates any desire to go there. My friend ordered 8 cocktail drinks it costs about $350 and the waitress would not provide itemization. The DJ in the middle of the floor makes it a cool vibe and the art that goes floor to ceiling has the feel of a vibrant location. Stayed here for 5 days! Rooms and decor is really cool, but fridays and saturdays it's insanity! People are lined up for the bar/club scene and to get to the elevator to get to your room you have to go through crowds of people and outrageously loud music. I really didn't like how anybody from the street could get in the elevator and come to our floor, not to mention how classless it gets on the weekends with drunk people and fights happening in the check in and check out areas. I had very high expectations for this establishment, however the service in combination with the lack of quality of the food prompted me to give the W such a low rating. The Tuna tartare is more like big chunks of tuna on dark bread with seaweed as a topping. The description does not match what a traditional tartare should be. My friend and I sent the item back, however, the manager did not ask for feedback. As a new restaurant that is essential for improving business and for retaining customers. The drinks were okay, the service was slow. The venue itself is beautiful but the layout of the area makes for very limited availability in seating. The party next to us got double charged for their drink orders. Even though the bar was not that busy it seemed like the staff was having a rough time running the place. Maybe somebody can help me out.. the bathroom is very nice but why is it that the shower is so small and the bathroom is huge!!! No place to hang clothes inside, no door in the shower like if you take a shower, water will be all over, no door in between bathroom and shower?? Am still scratching my head ! And oh! I love the main bar downtstairs. the Sushi was to die for we got the $80 dollar platter. I will the more expensive one next time. The bartender and young male professional was very educated on the platter and spirits. Visit him M-F during lunch hour. read more

This place has a lot of potential. They did a great setup, neat ambiance. But the service is nearly the worst I've had in a long time. After waiting 20 minutes to get in, I do not see what the hype is about. One of the bartenders completely ignored my group for a good 15 minutes, and when there was literally no one left for he to take drink orders from instead of us, she told us that she isn't even supposed to be taking orders anyways, so to go to another bartender, We did. And the next bartender was only slightly better- she actually took our drink order, but when my friend asked a question about their signature drink, she basically rephrased the question as a statement, giving us no information back. We will not be returning to this place- there's plenty of other bars surrounding, so don't waste your time! read more

Wow...rough start. SPG Platinum guest paying $360 a night. No coffee available in lobby. No pantry to purchase snacks. Couldn't get a drink at the bar. Definitely a hip scene, but can't manage the party crowd like Hollywood and Vine or the NYC properties. Need to recognize hotel guests versus the local crowd that do not pay the bills. read more
