I received a confirmation email, and a COVID-19 questionnaire via email as well. Lots of parking too, it's located in a little plaza in Richmond. I didn't know what to expect since it was my very first time getting a facial, and I was immediately impressed by the interior/decor at the front desk reception area when I walked in. It's very modern/earthy/chic (eg. white walls, natural plants)- and definitely feels very calming and relaxing. I booked my appointment with Lisa Liang for a La Cachette Signature Facial, and she was very sweet and patient as she walked me through what to expect. Bonus: The washroom are gorgeously decorated as well, and very very clean. The facial lasts a full 1 hour and 15mins or so. The rooms have soft ambient music playing, and the heavy sheets are super super comfortable - you could easily take a nap! I'm not well versed in their products, but various cleansers, exfoliant and peels are gently massaged into my face. Mines ended with a cold jelly mask thing. They use a lot of G.M. Collin skincare products (I also got 2 samples on my way out). My favourite part was starting and ending with a deep breathing exercise with essential oils, and also a little face/head massage at the end. The La Cachette Signature Facial regular price is $135, but I went for a limited time 50% off promo. Overall, it was a very pleasant & relaxing experience. Afterwards, she was clear on how important post-care was - no exercise, stay out of direct sunlight and the ever important, don't pick at scabs! Right after the appointment there was definitely some mild swelling (which I was forewarned about) and I'd read enough stories/reviews describing the post-appointment look as "Angry Birds." Thankfully, I had more of a "Mildly Concerned Birds" look during the first two days, but within the first week, the healing process started and the brows both lightened and thinned out - just as Melissa had assured me they would! A young girl (technician) comes into the salon and calls the next person in line. She began to dust the counter with her bare hands then continued to work and did not wash her hands. My turn began and then shortly after I told the technician to stop because I felt her taking too much off my eyebrows. In the photo you can clearly see the uneven eyebrows and so thin compared to when I came in. I did pay her and even left her a tip so they wouldn't say I was trying to get out of paying. I have a newborn son and this is the first time I go out to do something nice for myself. So you can only imagine how the hormones and the bad eyebrows left me in tears after.
