For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they had a display of pink sweatshirts, hoodies and totes. And of course jeans in many styles - wide leg, super ridiculously wide leg, straight, barrel (which I just don't get) and straight. Glad to see options beyond skinny jeans that were the rage for years. Parking right out front makes it easy to pop in and out of this store.

There is parking right out front of the entrance making this an easy visit. The store is bright, well stocked, and had a large area in the back with markdowns. I don't know if this area is always here, or if it gets stocked when going from season to season, but it's worth checking out. Lots of pants, jeans, dresses, tops and skirts. But I was here for the denim dress! Found it and immediately went into the dressing room. Unfortunately it was too big, and the next available size was three sizes smaller, so I placed an online order for the next two smaller sizes to see which fit best. They processed the order there, making sure that I received the online discount plus free shipping to my house. Great service! The dresses arrived in a week, and one fit perfectly! A button up, shirt collar, midi dress in a fit and flare style, perfect with a pair of knee high boots. Love it! And true to Loft style, it's classic and timeless so I can wear for years to come. While there I checked out some corduroy pants in beautiful fall colors, tried on some jeans and sweaters, plus purchased a chocolate brown lace top to pair with a leather skirt I already own. Every time I come in, the customer service is on-point. They aren't annoying either. There's a fine balance between being helpful and annoying, and they know how to be helpful. They aren't pushy. Yes, they will make suggestions or basically upsell items, but it's not in a pressuring way. I've never felt obligated to buy something they suggest to me. If I like it, cool. If not, I'll say so. I love their pants, and they come in different lengths, which is awesome. Sadly, the short ones are still too long for me most of the time. Yes, I'm a whopping 5 feet tall, so pretty much everything is too long for me. There needs to be a midget length for people like me. Lol. But the cool thing is if you have to have them altered, they give you a $10 credit for it. My other favorite Lucy product is their socks. If I could buy like 50 pairs all at once and just have them as my primary socks, I would so do it. They are just that amazing, comfortable, and breathable. A word of advice, if you're going to be spending lots of money for a single top or a single pair of pants: try them on, and try them on at several stores. Each store uses a slightly different body type for their clothes. For instance, I think lululemon's pants fit me very well, but their tops don't work for me. On the other hand, lucy's tops fit me like a glove. Another word of advice: lucy always has a sale section but if you wait a little bit, they'll have a "30% off everything already on sale" sale! I haven't really been tracking, but my guess is that this happens about once every six weeks. Recently, I spent over an hour in this lucy store, and I probably tried on most of the store. I was helped by a lovely young woman named Kerry, and she was oh-so-helpful. When I walked into the store, she noticed right away that I was wearing a lucy jacket, and then proceeded to walk me through all of their different sports bras, pants, and top options. Once I found a pair of pants that I liked, she probably brought me every single color and pattern that they had in stock. I checked out some sports bras, and I was also pleased that she directed me to their "super sale" section. This store is lovely and has wonderful employees. Literally just a handful of swimsuits, one or two rash guards, no goggles, fins or gear. Did I mention just a handful of swimsuits? Was highly disappointed but since I was there, decided to walk the aisles. The vast majority of the store is filled with clothing. Racks and racks of clothing. Like it's sister store and neighbor, Marshall's, they must get leftover clothing from other stores and sell at a discount. There are definitely good finds among the racks, but I wasn't shopping for clothing and didn't have the patience. Ended up buying a wide brimmed sun hat with SPF of 50 for just $16.99. There were only three customers at the checkout but it still seemed to take forever. He's an avid wood tuner and his work shop (the garage) gets mighty cold during winter. His latest love is the Duluth Fire Hose Fleece-lined Relaxed fit pants. The pants have a microfleece lining that is very warm yet surprisingly lightweight and the large, deep cargo pockets resist punctures from the tools he uses. The 100% cotton canvas repels stains and water as well. One note: they wash extremely well but are very heavy when wet and a wimp like me has to transfer them from the washer to the dryer. No complaints, just a warning. LOL His other current favorite are the flannel shirts. There's a whole collection of them ranging from relaxed fit to untucked to fleece-lined and they are all on sale right this very minute. The brick and mortar store has deals you can't get online and vise versa so it's always a good idea to check both options. Many have concerns about the area where the store is located. And, yes, there have been high crime issues associated with the Jantzen Beach shopping center and many of the stores surrounding Duluth Trading Company are in fact closing. Homelessness is rampant in this part of town but the store is safe to shop in and I would suggest just being more vigilant about your surroundings. It's the times we live in.
