A friend and I just had a late lunch here, somewhat by accident. Having put off our lunch by a couple hours, we were on the edge of hangry and had our sights set on a little Indian restaurant that was in this location, only to arrive and find that a Vietnamese restaurant had taken its place. We saw that it was half full at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, took that as a good sign and decided to give it a go. It was so good. Friendly service, clean, upwards of casual environment. We shared some fresh rolls with grilled pork and peanut sauce. My friend had some super tender sesame beef number with a side of steamed vegetables. I had this glorious crepe, loaded with shrimp, chicken, and sprouts, with a mound of mint, lettuce and shredded carrots to embellish as desired. If you're looking for a good pho spot, this one is is pretty good compared to other options in the area. Overall great food, decent pricing. I recommend the chicken pho, really tasty. Only complaint is that I felt as if not enough chicken in one order. Other reviews and pictures look good, but I ordered takeout and not sure if it's because takeout is a little different container-wise or if it was just a one-time thing. They do offer indoor seating and seemed pretty good at social distancing indoors, but I went for picking up takeout and that was quick and easy as well. Finally, good Vietnamese food in delaware! We've moved here a year, and had been so disappointed to find that the Vietnamese food here was terrible. Not anymore. This location used to be a Indian restaurant, so the decor is still very Indian, ignore that. My husband and I came here and wanted to try everything. We eventually settled for a representation of the classics: Started with Vietnamese coffee, bubble tea, then dove into the special combo pho (beef soup noodle with many kinds of beef), special combo bun (dry noodle and grilled meat with fish sauce), and classic hoagie. So I've seen this place and wanted to try something new, and I was delightfully rewarded. I had to beef pho. The meet was very tender, vegetables fresh and crisp, and the broth very subtle but very very tasty. There are so many other things on the menu that I want to try that I will be back again and again. Had an excellent bowl of pho yesterday with coworkers for lunch. The broth was flavorful without being too salty. The fresh rolls with pork and shrimp were also very good as to be expected. The only thing I think that I'd recommend is that they should have a little more meat. Seems like a trend at suburban pho places. They charge more than what you can find in the city but give you less protein. Anyway good place if you are looking pho in the area. read more

Vpho is our goto Vietnamese restaurant. They have never disappointed us. Their Vbox is full of interesting flavors. Their vermicelli salads are excellent as are their pho soups. I personally find their wonton noodle soup quite delicious, and my wife enjoys their summer rolls. I'm 100% viet and always looking for a great viet restaurant. Very rare and hard to find these types of restaurants around here. The few that exists, the food is watered down and totally altered, lacking the authentic ingredients and on top of everything is extremely over priced. Hands down - this restaurant is the closest I've found to being authentic and next best thing to home cooking. Service can be slow at times when they're packed so expect it during rush hours. Drove up here after reading all the exciting reviews about the 'real pho' and I was not disappointed. Was it the best I have had? Nope, but it is pretty damn good for Newark/Wilmington area standards. I'm a vegetarian and I had the dumplings (standard taste), the veggie pho (great portion size and pretty delicious with good servings of tofu and veggies) and the fried ice cream (avoid, it is just fried cereal stuck onto it). Literally a surprise! My friend and I wanted treat ourselves after a busy work week, so we searched around and found this restaurant. I'm a vegetarian, and I did not expect food to be delicious since most of Vietnam places I've been to do not have great veggie options, BUT this one has unbelievable yummy pho. Even my friend likes my veggie one much better than hers (hers is great too). The waiter was super helpful and friendly. He taught us how to eat those like local. The Good: normally i go to Pho Cali but I'm always down to try a new Pho place. I had the beef Pho bowl and the broth was excellent. It had something most Pho soups don't have anymore -- body! It had great flavor, texture, and body. Their menu says they cook their broth for 11 hours, maybe they do because you have to simmer broth for a long time to get that lip smacking silky body into it. Even Pho places in philly don't have it usually. That alone makes this place 5 star. Also had the bahn mi and spring rolls, both were good, but the bahn mi didn't have that crackly French bread. It was still solid though. The Bad: these guys opened last weekend so they're still trying to get their routines set. No biggie but if you're expecting everything to be fine running smoothly maybe wait a while. The Ugly: when I go to a pho joint I want that great food but low quality service and ambiance. I want a box of chopsticks on the table, bad photos of the food on the wall and Vietnamese people who don't speak English serving me. Call me crazy, that's just me. This place is kinda too nice, they have cloth napkins, ceramic bowls, and painted walls. They have a fork and spoon at every setting. Usually not good. This place it is pretty well hidden. The food was delicious and cheaper than it should have been. I had bulgogi - it was served in an iron pan sizzling which gave it texture. Vegetables and rice were served simply but were fresh. For dessert I had the acai bowl, acai ice cream topped with fresh fruit. Both meals had healthy portions. This will be our first and last visit. We stopped here to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon. When we entered, it felt stuffy and warm. It was quite hot & humid outside with the temperature in the 90's. We ordered 2 entrees and 1 salad. The lotus shrimp salad had the sweet & sour taste of shredded carrots and lotus stem. The pho broth was bland compared to other pho restaurants' broths in MD & Philly-adding hoisin and sriracha sauce gave the broth more flavor. The Fine Vermicelli with grilled tofu was ok. The portion of the bland fried tofu that was grilled, was way more than the other items to be eaten together. It was recommended to us by the waitress, but after the dish was delivered, you had to removed the toppings to get to the lettuce to wrap it, which should be put separately. I've been going to VPho since they first opened. I really think the food here is very good. The Pho is rich and delicious and served with all the right condiments. (I'm from Arlington, VA originally and we have a huge mini-Saigon in the area so food is quite authentic). Anyway, aside from the Pho, you absolutely must try the Bun Bo Hue. Spicy and deep flavored. I've had the fresh shrimp rolls which are always filling and never dry. Never had anything here that wasn't good. read more

The only thing that could improve is the speed of their service, but the friendliness of their staff makes up for it. The workers are always really sweet and helpful, but it does take longer than most other restaurants to get drinks, food, and the bill. There are at least 4 different Pho restaurants within driving distance of where I work, but this is hands down my favorite. Not only is it clean and well decorated, but the service is fantastic and the employees are friendly. The Pho is DELICIOUS. My new favorite thing to do is to introduce Pho to friends, and get them hooked. The spring rolls, chicken wings, and grilled chicken rolls are also fantastic.
