Walk in and you will be wowed because this is one extremely attractive restaurant with an impressive menu to peruse. If you like Vietnamese food you are going to find something you like on their menu. But sitting looking at the menu I couldn't help but be annoyed by the one large TV's stream of politics. I do not understand why places designed for escape need to shove the world's headaches in diners' faces. A second TV streamed sports while the other two showed Vietnamese music videos and food being prepped and cooked. Stop with the politics and sports (This is not a sports bar either.). Use your TV's to showcase food or Vietnam or just play music. Taking a star for making my lunch unpleasant with politics. The impressive menu has incredible photos of Vietnamese cities, I liked that touch. Now to the food ... the Pho was delicious!! I usually add hoisin and siraccha but not here. It was a very large bowl accompanied by a plate loaded with very fresh goodies to add in. My friend's Ba Minh was also very good! Sigh unfortunately the service disappeared once our food was delivered. I really wanted a refill of my water ....I really really did but we just couldn't find anyone and they definitely did not show any interest in checking on us. And, when they finally came with the check they didn't take American Express... Pho Bami scratches the itch for pho, and maybe a little more. I got the pho dac biet, and felt that while the portions overall were satisfying, I only got 1 piece of tendon, which was a little off-putting. My dad got the pork chops with broken rice it was very good. The summer rolls with shrimp and pork were also excellent. Service was ok, although things came out a little out of order, and overall the clean and simple decor made for an enjoyable experience. Pho Bami was an awesome experience. The service was great and punctual, and both the appetizer and banh mi were excellent. We got the grilled pork spring rolls to start- they came with a sauce and cut in half. The meat was tender and flavorful! I also thought the mint added a nice hint of texture that brought the rolls together. I got the vegetarian banh mi and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of tofu inside. Walking in, the place looked amazing. The front section where they make the banh mi's and smoothies looked so clean. The staff was so sweet and attending! And the owner was so helpful and amazing when coming to assist my friends and I choosing what we wanted to eat. The servers were so sweet and polite (Thank you Ping!) The soup base was nice and hot and delicious. Howerever, the tripe was a long string of tripe, not cut in pieces. My wife ordered the grilled pork bami. She said it was delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly. The appetizers sampler dish, Ba Vi (H43) that we ordered was good. It has veggies, sugar cane shrimps, pork sausages and rice paper. The restaurant seemed newly opened, everything inside is very shiny and neat. The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived for lunch on a Monday noon. They have a huge menu with all Vietnamese dishes that you can imagine, including drinks and bubble teas. I ordered my go to dish, the broken rice with grilled chicken (159). It was exactly what I wanted to be. Fluffy rice, tender chicken, not over grilled, with cucumbers and fish sauce. Had the perfect dish in a while. We also enjoyed our shrimp on sugarcane, though the shrimp was not wrapped on sugarcanes when it was served. Loved the thai iced tea too. This place has gone to hell in a hand basket. The broken rice was filled with dry crunchy bits. The pork chop was sliced thin so it was very dry off the grill. It also tasted funny and sour. The spring rolls also had a sour taste to them. Moved here from the west coast so our standards/are pretty high when it comes to Asian food. Even though Pho Bami doesn't have a number, this place is legit good! Food is excellent, pho tai is my go to but this summer the ox tail special was what The Rock was cookin'. Vege summer rolls with the peanut sauce was my test of the place and it did not disappoint. Service has been aces, and the ambiance has been markedly improved since the renovation. Large dining area with better lighting and tv monitors showcasing how certain foods are prepared. My wife and I tried the other Pho joints around the area and we have to say Pho Bami is the best of Wilmington!
