Terrible customer service. The main attendant made racist comments, called a woman "barbie", and was rude through the ordering process. This is the second time I spoke with the same attendant and he was just as rude the first time. If you're reading this: practice more respect, you're better than this and I'm disappointed in you. Delicious tacos. A great variety of tasty buys in soft tortillas. Like street tacos only a but bigger. Very tasty. Usual beverages. Looked like the taps were well set for beer drinking. Environment was clean and well set for a taco joint. Took a long time to get the tacos. I noticed only one person in the kitchen , though, and she was working for it. Needs another cook back there, or for the service to back her when it booms. Something. Very slow. Harder, I suppose, when you know how quickly they assemble in a street taco kitchen. I've been to the Voodoo Taco on Fort Street a long time ago and it was just an okay experience. My wife and I went to this Voodoo Taco last week and it was an amazing experience all-around. I ordered the Fried Chicken Taco, Dirty Bird Style, (comes with bacon and queso), and the June Taco of the Month, the Takumi taco, which is a play on Vietnamese food, I believe. Both tacos were amazing in every right. Fresh ingredients that were delicious. The cook on the fried chicken was perfect as well. Also, my wife and I split their Cheesecake Taco which was divine! It comes with their house-made strawberry sauce for dipping, which was amazing. All in all, everything about this visit was great. The service was friendly and top-notch and the food was amazing. Voodoo Taco is now an official recipient of Kurt's Official Yelp Seal of Approval, which is kind of a big deal. I will definitely be going back! read more

We had the same experience as some of the previous reviews: slow service, even when they didn't appear to be busy, along with mistakes made on our orders. We stopped by after seeing a movie on Saturday night, a little after 7, and it was almost empty. That surprised us, we thought they'd be busier. Its got a cute, fun atmosphere. The guy working behind the counter was polite, but it did take him a while to take our orders. It took even longer to get our food out. The tacos we ordered were very good, but they messed up a little with mine. I requested for no cilantro, and both tacos came out with cilantro on them. Not that big of a deal, I was able to pick it off. No salsa or sauce was offered to us either. Maybe you have to request it when you order? But we found that the tacos didn't really need any, they tasted just as good without it. Who knows? Maybe we caught them on an off night. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again. read more

Voodoo Taco is still as good as ever. I've been eating here for at least 5-6 years and I recently went again after being disappointed by Curry in a Hurry. This time I took pictures of my usual meal from here which is the Cheese N' Rice along with 2 alligator tacos (contents: alligator meat, lettuce, mild spicy sauce, pico, cheese, and corn). Both tasted great as usual. The food here packs significant flavor & never disappoints. Service is friendly as usual as well. No complaints here! Came across voodoo taco in a "sorry I'm hangry" moment and stopped to fix my bad mood from lack of food. The menu is different but I am pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Had a good experience at voodoo taco. The queso had a pleasant variety of flavors. The breakfast taco with brisket was robust, and a good deal at $2.45ish. The alligator taco was a clever idea, but didn't overwhelm past the unique name. I chose the Aleppo sauce, which had a tangy sweetness to it. Not super hot. I asked if Aleppo was referring to the ancient Syrian city, and the cashier said it did in fact come a rare Syrian pepper. I'll probably come back. read more

If you like to wait in line for over a hour to order while the cashier is having a casual conversation with a line through the door then you found your spot. Had to wait another 5 minutes for someone of age to come to the register to complete my order with a beer on it... because the First Lady had to go out and smoke before "freaking out on somebody" After waiting about 25 minutes for both food and not the beer, I simply asked for a refund for the drink. Upon taking my receipt the lady brings one over and borderline begs for forgiveness about it being late and says she will compensate a second so a refund wouldn't have to be given. I decline and demand a refund and a water She comes back but with the most snotty and sour attitude simply for having to do another transaction. Got my copy of the receipt... and no water. We first attempted to get tacos after perusing the farmer's market. It was a few minutes after 11 but for some reason, the doors were locked. We just about left and upon walking to our car which was behind the building, we checked the back doors and they were open. Even though they said they hadn't quite opened yet, they still served us. My suggestion is to either update the open time or push it back. The queso was good but only lukewarm. I enjoyed the chips with its seasoning. They have great outdoor seating. We were driving through from chicago and worked remote at the nearby coworking space so obv choice to grabbed lunch here. We preordered on the app. Easy enough. The pineapple cream soda is where it's. The queso and chips were spot on. I ordered a single carnitas taco that had so much meat on it I was full. Chris, the manager, recommended some sauces and NAILED IT. My fiancé had the chicken fajita burrito and had only good things to say. All in all a win. I got the Voodoo Margarita- pretty spectacular, worth the $7. I also got the pork carnitas- which I expected to taste more like a street taco, it was more pork less lime. I still loved it! That was I think $4 and the BEST part were the CHEESECAKE TACOS. Y'all, if you love cheese cake or pastries at all you have got to try this. I absolutely loved them. There was some pretty explicit music playing--which would be fine for an adult oriented establishment, but this place has a kids menu, so I don't think it was an appropriate music choice. All of the TVs were on: sports, soap operas, bible network--but no subtitles. I don't really watch TV at restaurants, so it didn't bother me per se, but makes no sense nonetheless. The food was terrible. My tacos were supposed to have cotija cheese, but they must have been out. Instead they put Parmesan cheese on them. It was disgusting. They could have just said they were out of cotija. Who puts Parmesan on a taco? My husband got pork and beef tacos. Both were bland and dry. This place is a train wreck. Tried Voodoo Taco while in Aksarben today, we were immediately greeted by really friendly staff which was really nice! Ordered, sat down in some awesome purple high back chairs, and our food came out pretty quickly! Their chips and guac are really tasty, I liked the seasoning on the chips and the guac was really creamy. I got the fried avocado tacos made vegan (they just exclude the cheese that normally comes on them). I really appreciated how obvious they made the vegan option on the menu. It did come out the first time with the cheese on it, but the employee was really nice and remade it very quickly. The carrot slaw I think was my favorite part of the taco, sadly I learned I just don't like the taste of warm avocado (which is just my personal preference) so i probably won't order those tacos again. This place is in Aksarben so it is a bit pricy but I had an Omahadailydeal so it was fair. The aligator taco is made with a hotdog like sausage that Im not really sure is aligator...but its good. The green ghost pork is spicy so prepare yourself. The taco of the month (MAY) was double trouble. It had seasoned steak, onions, red and green bell peppers, corn, white shredded cheese, and a cheese spread between corn and flower tortillas. It was kind of like a philli cheese steak. This Voodoo Taco underwent renovations this week and opened back up a couple hours ago. Much better layout. You now can get an assortment their Taco items as a Buritto and now also as Nachos. I ordered the Steak Fajita as Nachos and could only go through half of it, they gave you more this way than the other two options. They also have our local Kros Strain Fairy Nectar on tap. It still takes a while to get your order so expect to wait about 10 minutes when they are busy. It is more expensive than your regular Taco place, but it is well worth it. read more

It's been a while since I tried Voodoo Taco. Heck since the 90th and Fort location, which is now closed. Overall, good food and a fun, casual atmosphere. Probably what's most appealing about Voodoo is the wide variety of tacos and other bites they offer. From alligator to mahi mahi to fried avocado, there should be something for anyone and plenty to pique the interest of adventurous eaters. Plus they offer tons of hot sauces to mix up the flavors even more. The oddest part of my recent visit was the service. It wasn't busy. But it still took the cashier several minutes too long to take each order. Our group was split in two, and each of our orders turned out wrong. And no salsa was offered. A beer keg blew (comped the beer though, so that's nice). Had to reorder a couple things. A few items were just flat out wrong. Had to ask twice for a server to bring chipotle sauce (again, it wasn't busy at all). The beignet bites were supposed to come with a strawberry sauce and instead came with a tomato salsa. Just several bizarre things like that left everyone at our table scratching our heads. Ah well, the food was still good and I wouldn't complain if I wound up at Voodoo Taco again soon. read more

This is where tacos go to prom...they get all fancy up in here! I must preface that I'm most definitely a traditionalist so I am most likely not their target audience. I would prefer my tacos from a sketch cart at 2am in South O...straight basics. Back to Voodoo...love the name, the decor and there is one older gentlemen that works there (don't know his name YET), who makes the experience hands down 10 stars...LOVE HIM!!! The decor is very industrial and cool. I like to sit in the back on the purple chairs, makes me feel all fancy or like I'm in a vampire lounge. I should've also prefaced that I'm also a nacho connoisseur, so when I saw that you can make any taco combination into nachos for $4 more, I was in voodoo heaven surrounded by crispy chips. Thus far, I've had the barbacoa, brisket and carnitas taco combos made into nachos. Yes, I've been there 3x in the not so distant past...don't judge. They were all delicious in their own right but maybe too over the top for my love of plain basics. Long time customer calling it quits. I found an obscure niche with this place long before COVID with the happy hour margarita with queso and/or the blackened chicken nachos. I have always believed the tacos were interesting, but carried probably the worst value in town for any food at any restaurant. I've also experienced some extremely awkward service in this place, long before COVID struck. I'm going to be pretty forgiving because of COVID. I'm fine with the fact the nachos I once loved have been different every time I've been in here for the last 6 months. (Although tonight they were so salty I almost didn't eat them.) BUT there are things which have nothing to do with COVID related business difficulties that are horribly out of place. The nice young man taking orders, for the second time I've seen him, is wearing his mask down under his nose. And tonight I just learned they have done away with the $4 margarita happy hour, and happy hour altogether, even though it's still on the menu. This was actually the only thing that kept me coming in long before COVID. That's the tipping point for me. Before this place was a guilty drunken pleasure on a Friday afternoon.
