And pick up order at the hut across from the store ! I love the cake doughnuts. The cream filled ones are good. The peanut butter one is hit or miss. Sometimes donuts are fresh and sometimes stale. I finally got the chance to check out the infamous Voodoo Doughnut spot. The line was literally out of the door but it moved very swiftly. I loved that they were very organized with the line structure and even promoted social distancing of the line. One of my favorite things about the experience was truly the decor. It was so intriguing. Lots of bright colors. One of my favorite things was the turntable in the center which showcases all of the donut flavors that they offer. I was blown away by this place! I went and brought home boxes all 3 nights I was there for Halloween! I bought a T-shirt and drove back to Gulf Shores with a box! All doughnut places now have to compare to voodoo to get my nod of approval! Please please please put one in Gulf Shores, AL! Voodoo Doughnut blew my mind when I went in Portland six years ago. At the time, speciality doughnuts were not commonplace, and I loved seeing and eating their many crazy flavors. In 2022 speciality doughnuts aren't as hard to come by and Voodoo has admittedly lost some of its excitement, but the doughnuts remain whimsical and yummy. Having been to the Voodoo doughnuts in Los Angeles's Citywalk, and comparing it to this one, I would say this one has more options and is more well organized. Really liked and smiled at their unique doughnuts. They have their famous voodoo doughnut that looks like a person with a pretzel stick through it to resemble the pin of a voodoo doll, but they also have a doughnut that looks like a popsicle and one that looks like a globe. The rotating display in the middle of the line was a cool way to get a glimps of donuts as we waited. I wanted to order a 1/2 dozen donuts but in order to do that they had to be pre-selected. What did they all have in common? The cult following! There's always a long line at each of these locations! Came here after spending the day at both parks. I have heard many good things about Voodoo Doughnuts and decide to give it a try. There is a line to get into the doughnut shop. I think we waited about 15-20 minutes. We were able to look at the list of items on the menu. It was hard to choose which ones to get since they all sounded great. As we waiting in line inside the shop, I noticed that the workers do wear gloves to pack the doughnuts. But, I see the workers touching their skin and clothing as they wear the gloves then touching the doughnuts. Not sure if they do change gloves. Tonight I decided to hit up Voodoo Doughnut to grab a Portland Cream on my way out of the park. First the line was literally around the corner to get in the actual store. Then I found out they had some cute novelty donuts and my first choice was sold out (sad face). So I end up getting a Stranger Things donut (which cost $3.75) but while everyone else got the cute pink box, my two donuts got squished into a small white paper bag.
