I come to Vons relatively often, and I always have such a smooth experience with the groceries I'm buying. 've never had an issue with the produce or items I buy, but you can always reach out to customer service if there are any concerns. The staff is relatively nice and really clean! I always love to go and see the variety of flowers they have to offer as well. I am also glad they have been positioning guards around considering the area. Easy and quick trip whether you go to a cashier or do self checkout. Highly recommend getting the app for some discounts! read more

I started shopping at Vons and I liked it but this time was different. Customer service attitude can change the shopping experience by a lot. This lady, Jody ( Jody Walker I think) white and kind of tall, was giving me attitude. I've worked in retail before and a smile goes a long way. I was about to pay when something went wrong with my card and the cashier had to leave so she told me to give the receipt to the next cashier to come. When Jody came she said "I can help whoever is next" and I was very clearly standing at the register. I was about to explain what happened and she didn't even let me finish when she interrupted me and said "you're going to have to go to the front desk". Which was already a bad start when she interrupted me. Then I finished explaining and she said "you're going to have to wait in line" and I said "but I was about to pay?" And she said "well you can wait in the line". The line was LONG it's not fair that I have to wait all over again when I was already about to pay. The people working at this bakery doesn't know about their own job. I wanted to buy cupcakes for my daughter's volleyball team and asked the lady for them. She redirected me to the ones in the FREEZER saying "it's the same and to just let them sit out for AN HOUR and they'll be fine" almost two hours passed by and I handed out cupcakes with frozen frosting. Jacob assisted the previous customer and made recommendations to download the Vons app and get amazing savings. David greeted me during checkout and Pedro assisted Jacob with the previous customer. I usually don't do my grocery shopping at Vons but when comes to liquor and ice cream buying needs, you definitely can count on Vons, Saturn Blvd. With a large selection and various price ranges, you may end up buying more than what you came in for. My favorite wine: Stella Rosa. Try the the blueberry and pine apple My favorite ice cream: Rocky road Dislike: Security guard (long hair dread locks worked 11/21/24) should be paying attention to the safety and security of the store, not standing with his back towards the entrance. If anything, he should have been posted closer to the entrance door so that he can get a much wider angle from the registers and across the opposite side of store. He also missed a customer that was blocking the entrance with his push cart. Other customers were having to pass around him as he stood around for minutes on end. There was no reason for this person to have blocked the majority of the area. The numb nut eventually moved over to the side. My overall shopping experience at Vons was a good one. First of all, I would like to give a big shout out to the manager, JAMES.. He has gone above and beyond customer service. I ordered a cake and I went to pick it up 30 minutes before my birthday party (pick up time on my order) and the cake was made wrong.. I did not have time to come back and pick up another cake. James made sure my cake was made RIGHT according to my order and he delivered it to my house which I really appreciate it since I did not have any time to go back to pick up my cake. My cake was delicious and everybody loved it. James is the nicest manager I have ever spoken to in all of customer service. He let me speak without interrupting me. The fruits and vegetables are pretty bad. They're usually already gone bad. The checkout line is a joke. The express checkout is usually the only one open late at night and has a line constantly. I am going to request they install a bench in the middle of the frozen food aisle to make it more accommodating for the wait. I personally enjoy seeing the manager walk by constantly when there is a long line instead of helping out. read more

Came to this location as a pit stop before making a trip to visit a friend for barbecue. This location was very clean and plenty of parking but in a shopping complex with other businesses like Starbucks makes it a busier location.. The downfall I've come to realize with VON's locations (and this location is no exception) is that the liquor is locked up with no way to contact an associate to help you. Which in turn means that you need to go look for somebody who isn't busy that can help you and can get or already has the keys. So if you are looking for a quick "in and out" shopping experience, you could be easily disappointed... Not sure if this location is recently remodeled but I do like the fact that everything is enclosed when it comes to beer selection and they offer a few varieties. Staff was friendly, however again (as happened at other locations) is issues with the coupons coming off the account. After the cashier verified, she did refund the coupon amount.... I am not sure if this is an app issue or a register issue (as this has happened a different locations) because this is a reoccurring issue. Luckily this cashier had authority to issue a refund but that meant that the line had to wait until my issue was resolved... part of me is happy she was able to resolve it rather than sending me to customer service, but it also meant she had to take more time on my transaction. Would definitely check this VONs out again when in the area, very clean and great customer service. read more

Well, I attempted to shop here, but myself and several other folks were playing Marco Polo, in hopes a shopping cart may appear. Spoiler: None did. But you know who has plenty, Walmart, in the same parking lot. I loathe WallyWorld, but I guess their ability to maintain a herd of shipping carts makes the difference. This Vons is a great grocery store. I swing by here from time to time to grab groceries on my way back to Mexico. They have pretty good deals on quality meat. I have to much stuff in my head and I totally forgot this one important thing for my sons prom. I was thankful for that lady who took my order even it sounded like she doesn't want to take another order maybe because of hectic schedule which is I totally understand, and I'm grateful for that. Pick up after two days and took it home that day. Later that same day when I was about to drop off my son to friends house I notice the rose was kidda crooked so I opened it and the flower separated from the base. I was so sad since this is once in a lifetime experience for a teenagers life and important. When a mom did everything by herself and did everything for this young man to have the most memorable night and this happened it's really so disappointing because I felt I failed this day. I hope no matter how much the price how busy how simple this corsage is please give it ur best to have it useful. $21 plus tax I now is not much but I work hard for it. I mostly go to Vons to buy sandwiches in their Deli area. There is a deli right across the Vons I go to but after the guy smooshed my sandwich with his ungloved hand during the height of the pandemic I can't bring myself to go there again. I like the workers at Vons because they are all about cleanliness. When I go they usually slice me new meat, and cheese. If their veggies look old they will toss it and give me new ones. They are not fast but I'd rather wait a couple more minutes for quality. read more

I live in the area so I go to this grocery store all the time. Several reviews mention the lack of shopping carts and that's exactly why I'm here too. I struggle every time I come to this store to find a cart. This past Friday was the worst. There was maybe 6 carts in the entire store. I understand that the homeless take the carts but the other business in the same shopping center don't seem to have the same issue. Are you guys not locking them up at night? I feel like paying someone to watch carts all day long would be cheaper than replacing them. While I was there on Friday I was rudely told by a bagger that I could use a basket instead...to shop for a family of 5...I don't think so. This grocery store has the highest prices, yet half the time I come here there is no shopping carts to use. Now they want you to do their job and check out yourself. This is not a consumer friendly store, nor a community friendly store. There are always aisles blocked with unattended carts and the place is so cold, you could hang meat in the store. But since they are the only option unless going to Chula Vista for the Ralph's, which I am going to start doing, they can do whatever they want. But I am fed up with their service. read more

Von's tend to be one of our regular stores we go to get groceries. This Von's seemed to be a pretty nice store. It has the basic groceries we always get. We didn't get much in the way of produce but what they had looked fresh. We did get some cut up watermelon that was quite tasty & not soft at all. The meat looked pretty nice but we also couldn't get meat since we were on the road. What we did get was: -tons of basic canned goods and they had a good selection -bakery-Vons has the absolute best bagels, good baguettes and pies too. -wine. Vons has a decent selection of wine at a decent price -household (non-groceries) lots to choose from All in all, I would go back to this Von's if in the area again. read more

First and last time I go VONS. The lack of customer service is staggering. I asked an employee about a product and his answer was "I am new." At the register, the cashier Javier was having a conversation with another employee during my entire transaction. When I asked him how much money I could ask for cash back, he replied "I only have 60 dollars" so I asked for 60 dollars and he rolled his eyes and said "Didn't I tell you I only had 60 dollars" Also, the store is not enforcing face covering, I could see at least 4 customers without a face mask and one employee. read more

Apparently all bakery people were not on shift at the same time, waited long time asking 3 diff people for help. Finally someone came and wasn't even in the bakery department, they bent the cake platter we bought and we were like okay that's not right and she said yeah we can't do anything about it the cake people are still on break for another half hour. The two people that helped smelled like weed by the way. Bad service, then the interaction in front us at the cashier- wow she was aggressive and rude to the old man in front of us. This place has really gone downhill. The bakery girls are absolutely clueless. It almost seems like they are hiring just about anyone to work in those departments regardless of experience. Last Friday, I special ordered a birthday cake for my husband. It was supposed to be a German chocolate buttercream cake. The message on it was simple: Happy Birthday Anthony With the #23 underneath his name. (A joke between he and I. He's really 32) I noticed the girl didn't write any of my special requests on the paper/order form. When I asked her to, she said "I will remember, don't worry!" And then mentioned that she was late for her break and tried to take off. Hell no! I stopped her! I told her I need it written down. So she came back and wrote it on the endpaper of a notepad, (like the back page) urged me not to worry and took off. Come Sunday, the day to pick up the cake (3 days later). When I asked the lady in the bakery to show me the cake before handing it to me, she pretended to not hear me. She promptly closed it up in a pink box, taped it shut and put it in my cart. I could NOT believe it, I received a horrible cake!!!! There was no buttercream in sight. Just whipped frosting, which my husband HATES. Oh, and the message: "Happy Birthday Anthoy" If she hadn't misspelled it, I'd still be upset. The letters weren't even centered. The writing was sloppy. The #23 was nowhere to be found. Luckily they have candles with numbers. But still. Extra money spent on a special order cake that was dry and tasted AWFUL. :-( read more

That was the slowest sandwich line I have ever been too in my entire life. Like out of all the subways, Jersey Mike's, wawas, random gas stations off the 5. I get if there was a line which there was not... I stopped by really quickly to pick up a Carvel cake for my man's younger brother's birthday that Sunday, January 5, 2020 and was delighted to my amusement that they were stocked with large ice cream cakes and small ones. Considering their freezer space I opted for the smaller one since his son used to have a note on their fridge saying "No Ice Cream For Daddy". I wrote on the note "why can't he have ice cream?" And he wrote back "cuz he's fat!" Hahaha! Little kids! You gotta love them... his dad is a scuba instructor and avid rock climber so he is hardly fat at all! Living on Long Island, NY when the Islanders has their dynasty in the early 1980s, we looked forward to celebrations with Carvel Ice Cream Cakes and I'm ecstatic that Vons carries them so I can continue to share our family's tradition we loved so much! What's awesome about this particular Vons is their staff! They're so accommodating and genuinely nice! When Ben & Jerry's discontinued their Banana Split Flavor, they attempted to order it for me and took down my name & number to let me know the results. THAT'S service!!! I brought the cake to the bakery attendant and she was more than happy to write his name on the cake personalizing it at no extra charge! People that work here are genuinely nice and foster the spirit of helpfulness and actual service! They're positive and just add to the overall goodness of our community!
