Gas station refuses to quote gas prices online or by phone, citing store policy. Everyone else is open about their prices. Also, the deli at Raley's across the street is FAR superior to Vons. The deli food at Vons is mediocre without much choice and the employees are slow and could not care less about providing good service (if there is even anyone around, often there is a really long wait to get service). read more

Before going to Yosemite for the day, I realized I needed to bring my own lunch - not knowing the food options in the park. I got a sandwich at the deli for $5 and made for a great, convenient lunch on the trails. Regular sized Vons - stock up here before heading to the park. read more

I visited this store on September 6. I was appalled to find not a single customer was wearing a mask except me. You may think I'm exaggerating, but I am not. Three employees were standing, chatting, shoulder to shoulder at the front of the store, the one in the middle had her mask down around her neck. The poor cashier, risking her life being there, said the store didn't enforce the CA state mandate to wear masks because customers COULD claim they have a medical condition preventing them from wearing a mask. It appears Vons is willing to risk the lives of their employees and all other customers because someone MAY claim a medical condition. Really, if they had a medical condition, they most likely wouldn't risk their own life going to a grocery store. Other retailers, enforce the state mandate and offer other solutions to the incredibly small number of customers who can't wear a mask - but do not allow them in the store. Shame on Von's for being so careless with the lives of their employees and the majority of their customers. read more

On the way to YosemiteOakhurst is one of if not the last big grocery store. If you are doing any camping or picnicking or just to stock up the car, this is a nice clean friendly store. (and it will keep you from getting gouged inside the park) read more

I LOOOVE their bakery! The food is always tasty and ingredients fresh! Depending on who makes your sandwich at the sandwich station, it can be speedy or slow but if it's the latter, it is worth the wait. The mini Starbucks cafe area is also convenient for your coffee fix. Definitely beats Peet's cafe at their counterpart, Raleys! Employees are always kind and attentive, something you also do not find at the only other grocery store in town. As far as groceries go, its quick and basic as most Vons chains are and takes care of your shopping needs. read more

Better service than Raleys. Always crowded but the deli is much more impressive.

I love this Vons. Sure, it's just a chain grocery store, but the employees are ALWAYS friendly and helpful. If I make conversation with any cashier, I can be assured they'll be polite and cheerful. It's a far cry from going to a Safeway or any other chain in the Bay Area or big city. The small community attitude is a welcomed change. read more

I shop here frequently, I like the just for you sales etc. The store carries almost every food item you might want at a reasonable price. I like the gas rewards that come with my purchase too. All the staff are helpful and their service desk is great if you have been overcharged, something is wrong with an item etc. They are quick to have a satisfied customer. read more

I was in the area for a short vacation. I thought I'd get a sweeper to clean up the RV a bit. Got one. Got to the campground, only part of the sweeper was in the packaging. I took it back on my way out of town. The clerk asked if I had the receipt. Didn't want a refund, wanted to exchange it for one that had all the parts in it. I was refused by the clerk. Not very customer friendly. The proper response by the clerk ought to have been "let me ask the manager." But no. No interest by the clerk for repeat business. Oh well. Some stores are customer friendly. Not today. Bought a one that had all the parts. Maybe they should do some work on maintaining the integrity (sic) of the products they are selling - like no defective or incomplete products if they are going to have such an unfriendly attitude. So caveat emptor when you go shopping at this VONS. read more

If I were rating on the pharmacy alone, I'd give a 0 star review.... I like the grocery store, as they are increasing their organic produce. But my last experience with the pharmacist has made me think about switching stores. I waited in line 5 minutes while the pharmacist chatted with the customer about personal things. ( not pharmacy related). When I walked to the window, the pharmacist started to shut the window down. I adked if he could check to see if my doctor called in my prescription? He said "no. I have to close, come back in an hour". I explained I just drove 30 miles and just wanted to know if the prescription had been called in or not. He slammed the window down in my face and walked away. I still can't believe this man has a job in the Vons organization. read more

We were traveling to Yosemite and decided to stop off in town to pick up some snacks and things for the park. One of the things that made me happy about this store was how clean the bathrooms were! That was nice. Also, we stopped by the pharmacy to get some over the counter allergy medications and the pharmacist/technicians were very nice. The self checkout was very convenient. Not a long line. But I kept having issues with bagging the snacks because it kept sensing extra weight? I don't know why. But it was dealt with. We got all the snacks that we needed and had a really good day in the park. :) read more

If you are heading into Yosemite and buying meat here, make sure it is fresh. We stopped here and bought some chicken thighs in a package, only to find it slimey and smelling disgusting when we opened it a few hours later. Beware! They did refund our money, though. However, buying anything in Yosemite Valley is going to cost much more than at a regular store. read more

Don't go to Vons and use their self check out ESPECIALLy if the clerk working them is Dana. She will accuse you of stealing. That is what happened to me. I had 2 cat litter boxes & 1 coke 20 pack & I scanned them first & didn't bag them & then did about 15-18 other items. When I was still checking the other items out Dana came over & asked me if I had scanned the other cat litter box & I told her Yes I had scanned both and they were done first. I finished scanning my items & then paid with my ATM . She came back over and insisted to look at my list even though she can see them on her screen. She found a cat food item & said" I only see 1 item here" I said that wasn't the right item. She continued looking and said I don't see them on here. I said they were the first 2 items. She found them & still asked if they were the items because she said she couldn't see them.Basically she said I had not scanned them or I was stealing.This is before she even checked & before I walked out of the store. I work retail & I know that you can not accuse anyone of stealing unless you have them in plain sight & see them do it & then you have to wait until they leave the store. I told her I was pissed & wanted my money back & she just huffed & could have cared less. Didn't say anything but OK I canceled the transaction. I complained to on duty manager & he said he would talk to her & then I went back in & asked to file an offical complaint & was told to phone the manager in the morning.TRerrible customer service & I have been a customer there since 2008 & most of the people know me & I do a lot of business there. Maybe not any more. Bad attitude & bad customer srevice. That is ot how we are trained to handle sitiuations like that!! GO SOMEWHERE E! read more

This Vons is the "only game in town" and it shows. On Fridays the store is so crowded you can't navigate your cart and have long waits at the cashiers. The produce section is often out of bags at most/all of the stations, prices are higher than usual - since no competition. When I can - I do major shopping in Fresno since I live in Coarsegold (just to the South) and avoid the crowds/high prices here. read more

Terrible service as usual. At the 'self' check out line, with no other customers in line at all... 'me', trying top buy 1 bag of ice "is there a key for ice that I can search".....miserable lady who looks like she hates life...."yes", then immediately walks away. I do not like to post anything, let alone anything negative, and usually voice disapproval with my wallet. But there are limited choices up here. Mr. Manager, please take note. My first time shopping in Von's , it's similar to food lion or walmart but more delicate. My girlfriend like the cake and sandwich there. Good place to get food for hiking in Yosemite. read more
