Ok, so this might seem strange to review a grocery store, but I was in last saturday picking up some things for lunch, and was blown away. Seriously, no joke here, whoever was in charge of making the fried chicken needs a raise. I'm not kidding....literally THE best fried chicken I've ever had at a store. I'm not even just talking about immediate consumption here, but it reheated incredibly well the next day! The legs, breasts, thighs, and wings were all equally delicious. I'm both excited and frightened to try this again. On one hand, I could be super pumped and have a new 'go to' fried chicken spot, but on the other, I could be horribly disappointed and never want to go back....I'm torn. It would have been a five star review, but the bakery dropped the ball with their cake cubes. They ran out of chocolate, and only had strawberry, and mint chocolate left...Tell the bakery to make more chocolate cake cubes! read more

I have been shopping at this location for a few years now. It is a norm for me to pass there at least 2x per week as my kids have their taekwondo class next door. Be very wary when they scan your items as I got home and checked my list against the receipt there are 2 unusual items I could not figure out. I had 2 kinds of potato and 1 rang for $8.22!!! That was not definitely on the list. So I immediately went back and presented my case. The manager that rang me up have nothing to say . The customer associate apologized and returned back my money however the other item that rang for $6.58 was not returned. The prices are alright. I've shopped her a few times and they have always had what I needed. The lines always seen to be really long here. I'm not sure why. My wife and I went in to our local Vons Market on Saturday, Dec. 30 to get a birthday cake for our son and daughter (birthdays two years apart, on the same day). I want to tell you that Carine in the bakery department deserves this review because she was absolutely wonderful. Honestly, we do most of our grocery shopping here because we save on gas. The store is good to go though. Prices are O.K. and they have the stuff we want. The guy that works the meat area is cool and will go above and beyond to help you out, even if it's not in the meat dept. The only thing I don't really like about this place is the wait time to check out. There is always a line. They only have one or two checkouts open at a time and it takes a while sometimes. I consider myself a fan of Vons. This Vons was very clean and spacious. I found exactly what I was looking for with no trouble at all. Vons is to Albertson's what Target is to Wal*Mart. Meaning you can find the same stuff for slightly more but it's worth it because it's clean and not as crowded. I had to run in to grab something right quick and was kind of annoyed that there was no express lane open. Two lanes were open and one lane was lit but with nobody at the register. This used to be a decent grocery store, but recently it has really gone down the drain. I went there yesterday to stock up on fresh produce and was shocked at the selection of rotten produce, the lack of basic items and the high cost. I normally shop at Sprouts or TJ's and spend less.. Purchased a package of chicken breasts that indicated it was packaged that day. The next day I opened it, it smelled like it was bad. I went to Vons and they agreed the meat was bad, they refunded my money with a mild apology. I'm very leery of purchasing any meat from here again. read more

So disappointed...I've been to many Von's Delis for breakfast sandwiches and WTF? The lady making my sandwich was no very hospitable...she didn't even ask if I wanted anything additional or rather ask me if the sandwich she was making me was ok...maybe I wanted a tomato (which I did) but she was quick to put my sandwich into the toaster...mind you that there was no one else waiting in line for service...she quickly wrapped my sandwich and checked me out. When I got to my car the sandwich wasn't even toasted...best believe I took it back and she was annoyed that I wanted it more toasted...ah she's lucky I didn't have her make me a whole new sandwich or even worse get a refund, taking more time from her precious time. VONS please fix this issue if not I guess I'll just have to take my business to Albertsons across the way. read more

Great store. Clean, great produce section and well stocked. The staff is quite courteous. I've purchased a few meat products from the meat counter, items are of great quality. On my last stop in I purchased some already packaged steaks, they were delicious and of high quality beef. read more

Brittany at Starbucks made my day!! I had the greatest experience today. I ordered an extravagant drink thinking I was going to cash in my free Starbucks reward, however Brittany apologized and told me that this location is not able to redeem rewards. I was shocked because I only brought my phone not my wallet thinking I was going to use my reward, Brittany quickly of me not to worry about it and that she will take care of me today. This small act of kindness made such a huge impact on me. She absolutely made my day, I wanted to cry. The manager lacks customer service skills. I have been shopping in that store for the last 16 years that I have been living in Temecula, but to day was the last day. The advertised a service that they are unable to provide, and when complained to the manager, he didn't even tried. It hard for me to believe that such a big store have limited fund just to run the register, when the advertised that the "Western Union Service", but yet do not have the money to pay out. On the sign it doesn't say "Western Union Service provided, if we have the money". Crappy service by the customer services personnel that was backed up by the arrogant store manager. He didn't even care that I told her that the store loss a customer. Wonder why the store is always empty. We, the customers are the ones that either make or break business. I bit of customer service goes a long way. Upset me the "don't care attitude" and lack of people skills. I am sure if he wanted to, he could have come out with the money to pay out, but he just didn't want to be bother, just supporting what the lady at the customer service said. What a shame. The pharmacy here is completely unprofessional. I had a prescription transferred from another pharmacy I had been filling at for a year, but transferred to Von's for the rx plus deal. Well my prescription was canceled by the pharmacist and they had the audacity to call my doctor and scold them for prescribing this type of medication, even though it is completely related to their field. Do yourself a favor and continue to let this pharmacy sink. read more

This is only for the meat department. I have been frequenting this Vons ever since we moved to the area and have given them good reviews in the past. Also have gotten to know many of the helpful people who work there. In the last month since the old meat manager has left, I have had one person who works in meat tell me he can't cut meat. No offer to have someone else cut it and for me to pick it up later. Just "I can't cut meat". I'm sorry, what department do you work in? I walked in this opening to get some tri tip on sale and asked if they could cut it. The new meet manager says that they can but it's extra and it will cost more. First time I heard of this at any Vons/Safeway. He informed me that he had some already sliced. I also think he was holding a trimmed cut, but he never explained it as such. By the way Vons, I called Stater Bros, they don't charge for meat cutting. Guess I have a new neighborhood store for meat. read more

I agree with some of the other posts. Very annoyed that my husband cannot remember our home phone number and that Vons refused to give him the club savings. This will be the second time I have to go back and get my $10 back. Not cool Vons. Plus they have super expensive prices. The deli staff are rude and lazy. I've shopped here since they've opened, but I will no longer go to their deli counter. Staff purposely hides in the back room and will not make eye contact. If you move around and make eye contact, they pretend like they didn't see you and move further behind wall. These people should not be working in customer service. read more

I don't shop at this store too frequently but when I do I make sure to bring my club card or it's not worth going you will be overcharged. Today I also took in coupons to use that I printed online. When I went to the register the coupons did not scan. I told the checker that at wal mart and stater bros they just enter the code in by hand. The checker proceeded to tell me that it's against store policy to enter the coupons in by hand and handed me my coupons back. I finished checking out and requested to speak to the manager. He told me that the coupons were most likely no good and could be fraudulent. I had just printed the coupons off of coupons.com the night before. I told him that is not possible and that a store that would not take my coupons would no longer get my business. read more

VONS Grocery....Why do they make it so difficult? Online Cust Svc only available in the mornings, but they don't tell you that. Driver gave me wrong phone number for Online Customer Service. If I place an order now, the address will be wrong for tomorrow's delivery, but no one at Von's can fix it now. The Delivery Rep practically scolded me because my address was wrong. I didn't get the 3 Promos because their online ordering & their e mail with promo codes aren't sync'd. I wrote a note about this on my order, but no one has contacted me. This is way too much trouble. I was excited about ordering from Von's online. Now I keep running into road blocks, which doesn't make me a happy (new) customer. Just returned with my wife from getting our Flu shot. Pharmacist was first class; quick and easy process. Always our 'go to' market.

First and Foremost I'm a wounded warrior been to combat, and was a Drill Instructor in the Marine Corp got retired because of medical injuries . I go to this western union all the time and see the same lady name Debbie, for some strange reason she never remembers me, but i have a broken right hand and I'm right handed. So i twll her that I'm right handed and someone needs to fill out my paperwork, her (Debbie) manager (jeff) tells me we can't fill out the paper for me. I tell Jeff last time Debbie had a young lady fill it out. Debbie says she ain't fill it out i said i know you didn't you had another young lady fill. It out. So now she ask for my ID, i give Debbie my Retired ID, Debbie tells me my retired id is no good because i don't have my address on it. But the expiration year is 2047. Debbie then started getting very unprofessional. Tell me that I'm raising my voice. Everytime i go there the rules change i don't know how. Debbie was rude and i felt she was being racist because I'm a young black man and 8 don't look like a marine no more. Don't judge a book by it's cover. I have been a regular at Vons and am now disappointed. Today I went to Von's to do my regular shopping and encountered a horrific situation at check out. While I was checking out an old man in his fifties was harassing me during my check-out and no one said anything to him. He was up-set because he had two items to ring up and I had a cart full to get through. Not sure why he didn't pay any attention to the fact that he was not in a 15 items or less lane? To make a long story short, I had coupons to get through, he was calling me names, saying that my kind should be shopping at wal-mart because I have coupons and then cursing at me all while I am trying to check out. The cashier didn't say anything or tell him to stop, the manager a female was in the check stand right next two me and didn't say anything to him either. When I was done being rung up the cashier apologized to this guy??? He then says to her its not your fault and looks at me calls me a stupid "B" . Needless to say the cashier and the manager didn't stop him or tell him to leave, doesn't make sense to me at all. It was apparent that the only person who was stupid was the guy who lost out by paying more while I saved 83.00 on my purchase. What would have been a 139.00 purchase ended up being a 56.00 purchase. It was really disappointing to see that the cashier nor the manager were willing to step in and stop such harassing so that I could check out like any other individual. I understand that they do not want to get involved with mentally disturbed people for sake of having them go crazy in the store, but you can easily tell them to stop harassing your customer or to take their business else where. I purchased way more then his less then 20.00 purchase and always do. Von's associates should prize their regular customers, but not only that have a "no" tolerance for that type of behavior. read more
