I will never shop at this store in any way again. I thought I was lucky that I was finally able to place an order that someone would pickup for me. I placed the order Tuesday night and was set for my order to be picked up Friday night. They took off the items they couldn't provide but didn't offer any replacements. This morning( the day of pickup) I received an e-mail canceling my order due to high volume. Plus they deducted one dollar from my account. I am at risk so I don't go out. This is my local grocery store and I have had nothing but great service here. The produce and meat department are always well stocked and everything is fresh. The cashiers are always friendly and have a smile. Another plus is having a Starbucks and a Redbox. read more

I recently purchased a gift card from this Vons location only to discover it was inoperable. I returned the following day and was told it might take a few days to get the problem corrected but I would be contacted when it was corrected. I heard nothing for over a week and so I returned to follow up. I again was told that the manager would follow up with the bookkeeper and I would be contacted in a few days. Another week went by and I called and was finally able to speak with the bookkeeper who notified me that she knew nothing about this problem. Good thing I still had my receipt, gift card, and activation paper since I again had to provide it to get any further. I received an email a few days later that a ticket had been opened to research the problem. Well here I am over a month later and still unable to receive a new gift card or a refund! I highly recommend not purchasing any gift cards from this location because you will be basically throwing your money away! Plus let me just add that the customer service is inexcusable! read more

They have their sodas on sale for 2.77 a pack of 12. My party is next week. So I went there to grab 25 pack but they only had 5 on the shelf. They said they just give me a rain check. I said cool, but the problem was they only gave me a rain check for 6, I asked why and GEORGE ( Supervisor) said that is the maximum to give for rain check. I said give me 20 right now and I don't need your rain check. He said no more. Shrugged his shoulder, who does that? What happened to customer service? A few hours ago I bought some salmon from Vons at San Fernando Mission, they sold me rotten salmon so I went back to the store to speak with the manager "Angela" unfortunately she gave me attitude didn't apologize and said that it has only "funny smell." I am so sorry that people like her works at Vons obviously she has no clue how dangerous is to sell rotten seafood or fish. I will never come back to Vons!! So this is a nice clean store and the staff are friendly enough. However, it is so crowded all the time I refuse to shop their anymore, which is a bummer because I live in walking distance. I understand these are tough times but this has been an issue well before Covid hit. I live alone and shop for 1 so I usually have less then 10 items a trip but they have no express lane and their self check out is full of people with overflowing carts that don't know how to use the kiosks. My bagger totally screwed me on the bagging process and left me for dead!! Items were falling out the bags, he put would single bag a single item (Clorox Wipes chilling in a bag solo-dolo), and single bag a bunch of heavy jagged items. Horrible customer service. Both tech and pharmacist ignore you. 5 hours after my meds was prescribed They sent me home saying it's not ready. I went home, called my primary doctor's office who called Vons. Vons told them my prescription is ready. I came back and both the pharmacist and tech ignores me. The Vons is in a small grocery shopping center with some food places, hallmark, Big5 and some others. I live in the area and I know they remodeled this location a few years back and along with that remodel they jacked up the prices at the location. At first the increased prices came with increased quality. Over time that quality has seriously diminished. There is a Panda Express and Starbucks in the store that I will review separately but at a high level I rate both of those pretty high. The general store is ok, packaged items, soda, all that is fine to buy but if you're into shopping for value I'm sure you can pick these items up at Ralph's (2 that are nearby) trader Joe's across the street or the Target which has started carrying some groceries too. The item I have the biggest problem with at this location and the reason for the low rating is the quality of their "fresh foods". As I mentioned earlier, they increased the prices after the remodel, and initially the fresh foods were good, the deli had stuff baking all the time and good assortment of cakes and other foods and the meat area was really good too but over time its gotten sloppy all around. Regularly, such as 2 days ago (hence this review) I went through 6 apples before finding one that wasn't severely damaged. I needed grapes, but these were all yellow/brownish smashed, or rotten. I needed some vegetables but they too just weren't in a good state. I needed ingredients for salsa and guac and ran into molded jalapenos and some slimy cilantro that I didn't like so I didn't get any from there, I ended up going to one of the local markets noted above. It seems that this is the case whenever I go lately. I guess my expectations are that Von's District Manager or at least the store manager would would walking the store and checking this stuff out, maybe even shop at their own stores so they make sure that the quality is what they are charging for (if you want me to pay more for these things I expect they be worth the value you're charging, i.e. Whole Foods). There are a handful of smaller produce markets that have opened up in the nearby area that I will be checking out but it is rather disappointing that I can't do my shopping here without buying inferior fresh foods... read more

This is specifically with regards to the pharmacy. For the most part, the grocery portion of the store is fine, and I shop there frequently. But do NOT use the pharmacy. The pharmacist Jae is very nice. But the pharmacy manager, Krista, is unpleasant and unhelpful. She violates HIPAA confidentiality laws consistently. She offers unsolicited opinions as to what medications you're taking, even if you've had a long term relationship with a physician and have worked out what works for you. I will be taking my pharmacy business elsewhere. read more

I've only been here a few time Mesa in the past 25 years because it's out of the way from my old work places. If I needed something at work, there were closer locations. It has a large parking lot, but it seems to be pretty busy the times I went there. The store seemed fairly clean and had a good number of checkers working the night we needed some ice cream for one of our relatives throwning a Halloween party. The pharmacy is very difficult to do business with. The manager is not in very much and won't let any service personnel take prescriptions if your driver's license address is not in Granada Hills. I had 3 prescriptions for non-controlled items and could not get them filled here because the paper card the DMV gives you shows my updated address, not the license itself. I just went shopping at this location this morning and asked if I could use my rainchecks, the early morning cashier (tall white guy) was very unfriendly and kinda rude towards me. I felt like I was using a food stamp rather than a rain check that one of the Vons stores gave me. It's a nice and clean vons but the attitude just ruined it for me. I'm a long time vons customer and spent hundreds each week but I will start going to other places next time. It was a very unpleasant and humiliating experience. FLORIST REVIEW: Most of the employees are super nice EXCEPT for the florist department. IT SUCKS! Their flowers look attractive as a whole and it's nice if you can pick something up without having to deal with the women behind the counter. They are inexperienced and arrogant clerks with an attitude, and they know absolutely nothing about flowers, plants and flower arranging. Besides being mistreated badly several times, I recently witnessed an elderly lady who brought in a wilted orchid plant along with her receipt. She had bought it there the day before and they automatically and defensively blamed her for neglecting it, keeping it too cold and/or not watering it. They did not give her another and she had to leave with the crappy orchid. I was so sad, I wanted to cry for her. So, please, if you need a plant, go to Trader Joe's across the street or even Sprouts. Gelson's used to be wonderful for plants but, sadly, they closed their Northridge store. This Von's is okay but I still miss Albertsons. It's the only complete market close by, however, and I'm still trying to get used to it. This is my go-to market. I always have a good experience here. Food is fresh, bakery is fantastic, and the girls at Starbucks are amazing. They even know your drink and get it ready while you wait in line to pay for groceries. I see some folks didn't have positive experiences here but I have to say, this Von's location is a lot nicer than some other ones in the Valley. I always get greeted with a smile and everyone is happy. Shelia is amazing if you need help finding anything, they go above and beyond to help you. I love this Vons! read more

I had to stand there waiting for someone to acknowledge me and still it was up to me to ask two ladies that didn't even bother to look up to speak to me. There are about three (3) Vons locations within 3 miles of where I live and this location happens to be the farthest out of all three. Regardless of the distance, I still prefer to come to this Vons more than any of the others. Overall, this is a very nice location as compared to all the other markets around me -- Ralphs, Trader Joe's, Gelsons, Whole Foods, Sprouts, and a few others I chose not to remember. The employees at this Vons seem to be much more helpful than any of the other stores. If one of them spots me, I'm instantly greeted and offered assistance. I buy tons of produce and prefer to get my produce at this location, mostly because the produce here seems to be in better condition and fresher than most other places, and not any more expensive. The bakery offers a large and delicious selection of breads and desserts. The deli also offers a great selection of meats and cheeses, as well as pasta salads and random hot foods. The meat and fish counter always looks and smells great, and I'm often tempted to buy a lot of their items. Also, I never really seem to ever wait too long to check-out. The cashiers try to be as friendly as possible, and when a line does begin to form they immediately call for back-up cashiers. There is a pharmacy inside this location that I cannot comment on because I've never used their service, but it is very convenient to have a full service pharmacy there. Also inside is a Wells Fargo bank, and I do like the service I receive from this bank. The tellers seem to be very efficient, and there's usually a banker located near the teller line to greet clients and help answer any question. There is also a Panda Express, and their food is great! For fast Chinese food, they make it good and fresh! Last, you will find a Starbucks inside. I'm not a fan of Starbuck but this one is great. I have not yet had a back drink from this location. To be perfectly honest, I believe the service at this location is good mainly because of the manager, Suzie Brown. My only complaints about this location are (1) the head baker in their bakery -- I do not know her name, but she's a the only black woman that works in their bakery. I've placed 3 orders in the past for cakes, all of which she disregarded, and my cakes were never made. Apparently, there have been other complaints about her so be warned. (2) There is a black man that works in the deli who is rude and acts as if he cannot be bothered to help customers. He will greet you by say, "What do you want?" He'll start to help customers but once someone else is in the deli, he'll ask that other employee to help out his customers and he'll walk away. (3) This location has an over abundance of elderly customers which regularly causes havoc. These senior customers are rude and obnoxious - they will block lanes, they will push other customers out of the way, etc. Again, be warned...these elder customers are horrible!!! read more

Extremely disappointed in the Granada Hills Vons delivery service. There is no communication or accountability, no follow-up. Gave clear instructions to enter through open metal gate and leave groceries at the front door. Scheduled delivery was from 8-12 and I was to be present. I called at 12:45 since their has been no delivery and customer service couldn't do anything to take care of the problem, they didn't know if it was delivered or not and that the supervisor or manager couldn't contact me for at least 24 hours. She said she would send me a text to see what happened, NOTHING, NO CALL, NO TEXT and No groceries. I called the following morning because my order was listed as "past" and I couldn't cancel. Later, went out through the front door and then through the metal gate to my driveway and found the bag of groceries with the frozen food now warm, the butter soft and mushy and I am glad they were out of milk and various items for they had been apparently left at the neighbors front door all day and the neighbor brought and left the bags in my driveway that night and they were out all night also, where they could have spent another day if I didn't go out. awful! I tried getting a cake (I didn't even want a name written on it!). Nobody would help. One person that works in the counter next to the cakes called on the speakers for someone to come out. Nobody came. I went to the customer service counter and asked for someone to come get a cake out for me from behind the glass. Nobody came! I went back and a girl went to the cake counter just to tell me "I can't do it because I'm not allowed!" - 25 minutes trying to just get a cake from behind the counter. I'm unsatisfied with the grocery delivery service Vons offers. I ordered my groceries before 1pm and I was given a delivery time frame 9pm-10pm same day. At 9:09pm I get a call from the delivery man saying there was a computer issue and they don't delivered after 10pm. I asked the delivery man why I didn't get a call earlier and his response was he didn't know. I said to him the computer issue was not my problem. I was given a delivery time and I expected my groceries to be delivered at that time. His response was "it's not my problem". I got more aggravated. My groceries list was incomplete when they delivered. They claimed "items were out of stock". As a consumer we have options and Vons will not be my 1st choice in the future. read more

This is a very nice clean store. It has a very large parking lot it shares with other stores including big five, Ross, and Wells Fargo. The produce is fairly fresh. It has a butcher, florist, Panda Express and a Starbucks. Seating out side for the panda and Starbucks. I find them a little pricy and the employees to be slow. This is most likely due to the fact they are a unionized origination. Meat is a little pricy. I use then quite a bit because of convenience. I wish they would add some self service registers as they are a lot faster then sub standard employees. read more
