Great experience today, even though management seemed to be dealing with a store wide refrigeration issue. They were all over it on our first scorcher in Escondido. Lots of hustle and temp talking. Always clean and helpful staff. They sell more thank groceries which helps when you're at the store and forget to get a birthday gift or gift card. Food is always fresh and I enjoy getting roses there that usually last about a week and the price is reasonable! read more

THIS IS FOR MANAGEMENT AND CORPORATE: Every time I shop at this location the lines are horrible. Tonight was no exception, there was one normal line and one 15 Items or Less like, both had over 10 people waiting to check out. It had nothing to do with the checkers, they were doing the best they could. WHERE WAS MANAGEMENT? Why wasn't there more help? Why don't they think of hiring more people. This is my go to Vons. It seems to be kept a little cleaner then the one down the hill. I like the layout of this one and it seems they always have what I need. The manager special meat is a great option if your looking for a cheap meal. I check it out every time I go. MY BIG complaint is the lines! That is why it only gets 3 stars. All of the employees are very nice but there are not enough it seems. If you go in the evening expect a line! read more

My grocery store of choice for sure! I come for the coffee at Starbucks and I stay for the fresh bread, the sale spots which are all throughout the store, and they even have Poke (sometimes) in the meat department which I love! The bosses and whole staff are all super sweet and the bonus is my bank Wells Fargo is inside; open Sundays and they're all sweet too they're patient with me and my wiggly kids :) I have the Just for U app, which saves me so much $ and I get money off at the gas station with gas rewards. Right now they're doing the Monopoly game. My family loves playing and collecting all the stuff we win like donuts and Redbox movies. I really do adore this place :) read more

Horrible customer service at the pharmacy, went by on Wednesday for a refill, they told me the prescription is expired and they will contact the doctors office and for me to go back on Saturday. So I went back today and they were confused, after looking at the computer they went thru some files and said, we faxed it over to the doctors office but they never replied so you still don't have a prescription, I asked them if they did any follow up, call the doc or even call me to let me know to contact the doc, NOTHING, THEY JUST DON'T CARE. Took nearly an hour to get my Drive up & Go order. Placed the order for pick up about 3 hours in advanced and still waited that long, i'm assuming they didn't put any of it together beforehand. The rest of the store is fine though, hence the two stars. read more

This is for the starbucks inside. Your associate Dom has attitude and is rude when I had requested for soy milk originally as well as a pumpkin bread and he gave me a banana bread and regular milk and got upset for his mistakes. It's cool dude we all make mistakes but don't be rude about it. I am a former partner with starbucks so I know how easy it is to make another drink and make a customer happy. read more

I like this store a lot! They always have their shelves stocked and I appreciate their great customer service. But this one cashier gave my boyfriend and I major attitude when we came in. It was our turn to check out and she didn't say a word to us so I took initiative and said hello and asked how she was. Because maybe it was a rough day (completely understandable). The register didn't take our Vons card and she sternly told us it didn't work and for us to do it again. I hate feeling like I'm bugging an employee. Her attitude I can do without, I work in a grocery store too so I know how it is. But this poor customer service ruined my mood. I failed to get her name because I was getting pretty irritated but thanked her and walked out. Hope I don't get her again. read more

I only find myself going this Vons if I'm in the cross way of it. Usually I go to the other Vons on the opposite end. I like the fact they got restaurants close by. Not loving the fact they got people sitting around begging for money as soon as you get to your car. read more

I visit the deli in this store often, due to the fact that it is so close to work. The down side is that the people that make the sandwiches take way too long to make them.Many times I take a peek and see who's working so I can decide whether or not I want a sandwich that bad. I wish I knew the guy's name (tall, thin, young with blue eyes). Use your club card so you can get your 13th sandwich free! read more

I like this store a lot better than the Vons down the street. The layout is better and the vegetables here actually last longer than a few days in my fridge. They also have a the drug store and Starbucks here, so all of that makes it that much better. My biggest gripe, as with all Vons, are the long lines seemingly at all hours, and the price of their meat. Not sure why but Vons just never has enough cashiers and the lines are always long. Their meat is really expensive at Vons. At Stater Bros they usually have the same items but they're constantly $2+ cheaper a pound. Not to mention Stater Bros meat is just better quality. Honestly, if Vons wasn't so close to me I'd drive to Stater Bros and not even come here but the convenience outweighs everything else, except when I need steaks or chicken. read more

Review is for the Deli. The employees behind the counter, no matter who is on duty, will make the customer wait for a looong time without any acknowledgment. When called to assist, they so it begrudgingly. They would not make eye contact. There was one incident when my husband ordered a "special" they had. He wanted to get the second option they offered with their chicken. He was told they can only give option one. When he pointed out thy he can get option two, the employee just kept repeating--option one! Of course, this is during lunch time and my husband just wanted to go home and eat. He didn't want to waste time asking for the manager. So, option one it was! When I went there at a different time, the attitude was the same. And it seemed as though even with intervention from a manager, nothing will change. These employees will still be surly. No customer service of which to speak. read more

Whoever is making the soups for Vons should take lessons on how to make soups that are edible! So far I have tasted 4 of the ready made soups and they are the most godawful concoctions I have ever tasted. Either make them edible or stop putting them on the shelves!! read more

Service is mostly non-existent. Never can find people to answer questions. Most of The deli service people in the late afternoon and evening are very slow and make you wait Unnecessarily. When they are crowded they never have enough Cashiers open. read more

This is a good location just off the 15 freeway and El Norte Pkwy, just north of the 78 freeway. The only problem is that this place is just so packed! It is your typical Von's with a Starbucks inside. Must use your Von's club card to get all the good discounts. read more

The entirety of my 3-star review goes to the location of this particular Vons. Otherwise, this place is fairly worthless for someone like me. The only sections I pay attention to are produce, meat and sometimes the bakery. The produce here is far worse than in any ethnic market in the area and costs at least 3 times as much. The meat selection is poor and expensive, but sometimes there is a deal that is worth considering. I only buy bread here if I'm desperate. Also, the rotisserie chicken at the front is twice as expensive and barely half as good as the one at Costco down the street, but I understand not everyone can get a membership. The Good? At least there is cheap booze and frozen taquitos for a lazy drunk night. read more

This review is for the pharmacy specifically. Being from San Francisco and having my insurance through SF county, it is an EXTREME struggle to get any prescription filled (sometimes even in SF depending on the prescription) Anyway, the pharmacy department was extremely helpful, friendly, and efficient throughout the entire process. One pharmacist, Sophia took it into her hands to play phone tag with over 5 different branches of healthy SF insurance to make sure I could get my refill in time. I cannot thank them enough, and all I can say is they're amazing. read more

I've reviewed some of the Reviews & it's Not good, so now I'm not Surprised that Von's has many areas that Needs improvement! I felt uncomfortable walking around the store on 5/20/2019, bc the Supervisor or a blonde haired man that looks like he plays Hockey or Rugby kept asking me if I needed help or why I'm I in the store? He did Not seem happy or pleasant!!! I can't understand WHY it bothered him that I was walking around the store & I was not touching anything or anyone!!! Truth be told, I was waiting on my prescriptions & the Insurance had to be approved, so I patiently waited & waited...As a Black Man in America, I felt his attitude was that of a BAD COP, & he almost wanted me to explain myself & show ID...I could also feel eyes on me from other employees as I was being watched to prevent theft! I get it, Anybody can steal, but I'm 65 years old & I know everyone is watching me or they see me so WHY would I steal...I just don't like it & I secretly wished a White Person was in there stealing! That's just Karma, I'm calling for bc a Black Man can't just kill time by walking around the store...I must be up to something! FYI: Von's is NOT my favorite place to hangout!!! read more

This Vons convinced me to return with my business after years away. I stopped by around 11 to buy snacks and drinks for an impromptu gathering of friends. Layout was sensical and did not require me to wander aimlessly to find what I wanted. And, the prices! ...for adult beverages beat even the naval base class 6. This vons is absolutely atrocious with there produce, there is always going bad and the same with the vegetables! They never stock up there 5 dollar spinach and the kale is always rotten. Food should never be rotten the next day. The sea food area is also gross. Selling shrimp that taste like iodine is disgusting. Will never shop at this vons ever again. This is for the Starbucks inside. Went there this morning and one person was working, I waited about 10 minutes to place my order, she was making them as she took them UNTIL it got to me and her buddy behind me. I placed my order and then she immediately took Larrys (the guy behind me with his son) order, how do I know his name? well she said hi Larry and talked to him for a minute while I waited, then she made Larrys order first, yeah the guy that was behind me, so she made his 3 drinks before she made my one drink. Yeah I guess if you are buddies with the people that work there you get good customer service and screw everybody else that they don't know. The only reason I didn't go 3 stores away to Safari Coffee is because I needed to grab a few things in Vons. Safari Coffee always great service. Vons always great service with a smile. AVOID this rude inconsiderate Starbucks at all costs. P.S. this Starbucks does not have their own Yelp Page probably because they get a lot of complaints. read more

Wow... surprised at the reviews of this place... It's a great location... very convenient, tons of parking, Starbucks inside... can't complain there. They have a great selection, and sometimes will have some pretty good deals. Yeah, ok, they aren't the cheapest place in town... no Vons is... but with that in mind, I can easily say this is the best Vons I've been to. Ok, sure, Walmart and Costco are near by... fine if you want to deal with tons of people and long lines. Albertsons isn't too far away either, but that place is pretty gross inside. Trader Joe's and Henry's are a bit far away... I could save some money going there, but the money I'd spend in gas getting there would cut a chunk out of the savings. The people that work here are friendly and helpful. The store is spotless and is laid out well. They also have a Blockbuster Express and Wells Fargo ATM in the store. I'll definitely keep coming here. It's a very convenient place to shop. read more

I prefer "not" shopping at Vons over many other stores, but this is my preferred one for sure. There produce section is improving, but sometimes their pricing is through the roof. I did want to recognize some EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE I received today however when I went in to rent a Rug Doctor. Amanda C. was really a GEM (Going Extra Mile) kind of person. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. Two other associates provided friendly and helpful service too, Alex and Kellen. The only person that I don't believe even said hello or gave me eye contact was a mid-manager or manager possibly that took my payment for the rental. I didn't pay attention to her name tag because she didn't care about me. But those other three I listed above really made me feel like they wanted my customer experience to be very positive, and generally speaking it was . . . because of Amanda, Alex and Kellen. read more

This is my neighborhood Vons, unfortunately. I can't get past the "3's a Crowd" signs everywhere and NOT ONCE have they opened another register when there are 3+ people in line. Also they regularly have broken registers, broken scales, etc. This Vons also has a Starbucks inside that if you go early in the morning, the main people in line are employees. There is only one person working behind the counter, so it takes FOREVER. read more

Two stars is for MOST of the staff being friendly and knowledgeable of where things are located, and the location of this store. I don't buy anything here without checking the dates. Everytime we shop here, something is expired / rotten... moldy cheeses, 3 month old pesto (in the cold section), rotten fruits / veggies, etc etc etc... read more
