As always, the store is bright with pretty displays of flowers and flyer items of new foodie products! The employees are always stocking, ordering, or helping someone. It seems like the most friendly people here. Trader Joe's is in the smaller scale for groceries. However, don't let that fool you! It has your produce, frozen meals, meats, snacks, drinks, baked goods and more. It has flyer items. The uniqueness makes us frequent the store over and over again! Overall, we love shopping at all Trader Joe's locations. We bought chips, popcorn, cookies, and coconut water for this quick run! Ample parking early morning. read more

She was warm and genuine, and asked how I was doing--when I mentioned I was buying treats for my grandkids, she smiled and said how neat that was. Jenn was super friendly at the cashier. The store has notes on when they will restock. There was one employee who I think was shopping and off duty; she was also friendly and recommended some items to me! The parking lot is a little bit of a pain, but people are generally nice here. Love coming here. I enjoy the quality of the fresh foods & fruits. Also so many fun chips every time. The pastry section also gets me. I recently started getting into the frozen section. I have been enjoying their orange chicken recently. There are also so many beautiful flowers. I enjoy the pasta section too, I would recommend the black pepper pasta with their Alfredo sauce. I also sprinkle in their mushroom powder seasoning on everything. Staff is always friendly but I hate how they are constantly stocking the aisles while you are trying to shop. I have never had a bad experience here but I wanted to thank the staff for being so kind; I dropped a salad on the floor because I was carrying too many things in my hands, totally my fault, and I was mortified. This is a great Trader Joe's. What really stands out is the service. During a stop here about 3 years ago, the cashier asked how my night was going and I mentioned that my son was going to get discharged from the NICU the next day, and she stopped to listen to my story. She shared that she had had a NICU baby too, and she left me with a bouquet of flowers. I left crying at her kindness. I think that's what really sets it apart from other grocery stores is that you actually feel valued as a customer there. Their snack lines are delicious of course, some of the best gluten free options ever, and this location is always clean and organized. Like every Trader Joe's, parking is tight, but not anything too unmanageable. I'll be a customer for life. read more

Close to home and a staple grocery store for majority of my needs. I love the variety of produce, fresh flowers and premade and frozen meals readily available for someone with a busy work schedule. Low, competitive prices make it hard to go to any of the other grocery stores in the same area. Every employee interaction I've had has also been top notch. They spend 10s of millions on packaging design and Hemingway-esque product descriptions. ALDI on the other have two guys from Bulgaria designing the exact same products. Needless to say that TJ wins that category. Another good thing about TJ is that they have so many employees working the floor. Can't find something on a shelf? Just ask an employee and they'll be happy to go in the back and look for you. ALDI has two cashiers working on a good day and that's it.... - Chocolate bar options are always good. - Chocolate covered espresso beans are my favorite impulsive buy here. - Microwave rice is very convienient. - Terrible parking lot. Accessibility: there are accessible/handicap parking spots directly in front of the entrance of the building and a ramp to get onto the sidewalk from there. The doors to enter are motion-activated and they have regular grocery carts as well as motorized shopping carts! Yay! The isles inside here are very wide which is so nice. Experience: the accessibility is great here (in my opinion), the employees are so nice, and the flower section here is my favorite. I bought a bunch of flowers today for really affordable. Who doesn't love the offerings of Trader Joe's!? This location is organized and there's always tons of parking. The staff are friendly and they always have a variety of food available and in stock! Have you tried their own branded liquor? Surprisingly, they are pretty good. Funny how they have whiskey that is color coded to match with Johnnie Walker lol. Almost as good at a fraction of the cost. Their floral selection is cheap and always fresh. Sometimes I pick up a bulge just because to spruce up my dining table at home or even to earn a few points with the wife. I'll be back for sure when in the area and need some snacks. HUGE HUGS to all staff at the TJs store in Escondido! My husband is at home recovering from surgery so I am already stressed. Then, I lost my phone in their store.... and right away, it seemed that the entire store went into "find her phone" mode. I even had a staff gal allow me to use her phone to locate mine. Unfortunately I had my location off. They REALLY cared! I drove home with an unsuccessful venture, just kept praying. This is my favorite Trader Joe's in North County San Diego. They just seem to have it together more than the other locations and are accommodating on the floor to find things you may have missed. During COVID-19, we seek to stock up for a couple weeks. I purchase my flowers here for my office, as their prices are solid. There is always something new. On Easter weekend, they gave everyone a free gift as you departed the store. Free candy, yay! Again, the store markers, number of shoppers inside and the staff puts hard to find items behind the scenes, so if someone asks for it, they can provide to you in limited quantities. It's hard to top the convenience, variety and service at a Trader Joe's compared to a traditional store, except if they don't care it. I just landed last night from denver and visiting my LDR for a few months. House was empty so a TJ run felt like the best move, always love coming here because everyones so helpful and sweet. Its honestly the most relaxing vibe for me going through the aisles. Anyways, the clerk asked about my day, it was very obvious I had a rough one as my cat was in the pet hospital today. The parking lot is especially small and chaotic at this location. A lot of items sold at this location are close to expiration date. Everything I bought expired within a few days. Many of the items I wanted to buy again that I bought just a couple weeks ago are now "seasonal" and may or not be back in stock ever again. The amount of vegan options are limited at this location. While I like that there are multiple cashiers I don't like how there is no formal line, in my experience people can sort of cut in front of you. Are the prices any good? They are lower than average but a lot of niche food items are sold here and it's uncertain if items I like will be back permanently. Overall you are better off going to the location in Ranch Bernardo or Carlsbad if you want to shop at a trader Joe's. Otherwise just go to the Grocery Outlet in Escondido. read more
