This Albertsons has recently been remodeled yet again, probably to encourage business since the Vons on E Valley has closed. That makes this the closest Albertsons/Vons to me now. A good addition is the sushi section, because not many locations have that. They often do $5 Friday sushi offers, but obviously only at locations that carry it. The front of the store is rearranged slightly, but a lot of the aisles are similar. Across the sides and back haven't changed much, so the front is changed the most. The self checkout lanes are now in the more common feeder style, as opposed to back to back style like before. They also rearranged the parking lot slightly, including adding a couple of the strange straight-in handicap spots that you see at some of the Walmarts. read more

I usually buy meat and seafood at Major Market across town, but was in a hurry so on 6/10/26 at around 4:30 PM I stopped at this nearby Albertson's. It's a fine store, especially after the remodel. I needed Italian sausage and was at the meat counter looking at options. A woman called out from the back asking if I need anything, so I told her and asked if the only Italian sausage they have is the mild one in the display case. She said they have more in packages around the corner and there are two brands, Cantellas and Johnsonville. I asked which is better quality and she said in a snotty tone "I don't know, I don't eat sausage". The fact that I was asking for her professional opinion and not personal preferences was lost on her. I'm never buying anything from that meat/seafood counter again. I tried several times to report this via the Albertson's website, but their contact form was not working. Anyway, I went around to the packaged options and bought some Johnsonville mild Italian sausage. Damn if it wasn't the absolute worst chewy tasteless sausage I've ever had. I know that Albertsons and Vons are owned by the same company but the Albertsons stores are so much nicer and more organized than the Vons stores. Stopped in to grab some deli meats and cheeses for some sub sandwiches. Prices are just getting completely out of hand but that is everywhere right now. I really like the Deitz and Watson products which taste so much better than the other brands. Really great store that is well organized and super clean. None of the digital coupons worked. They've got it set up to go through a maze to get out. Never again.

This location came in clutch because I had to renew my car registration. Apparently everyone also had the same idea. Because there was a line. Rather than waiting since I was 4th in line, I went around the store. As soon as you walk in, there's a starbucks there that sorta separates the store into three. A small eating / drinking area for Starbucks, the produce section on the left, and then everything else including the kiosks for the DMV, for the lottery, etc. on the right. I didn't notice a ton of staff on the floor. I needed direction and I eventually found it on my own, but could have saved 5 minutes of searching if there were more bodies floating around. Lovely selection in the clearance section which was in the far back left (closer to the produce section). Came here at 10am on a Tuesday. A few people were here but definitely not a busy time. With the layout, I imagine even if it did get busy, it wouldn't feel as so. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday. When I picked it up ,I wanted to cry. Her friends were already at my home waiting to surprise her. I had no choice but to take the cake. It looked like a child had decorated it. The sunflowers were so tacky ,didn't look like sunflowers except the color. The writing was really bad. I will never order a cake from them again even though they're less than 5 minutes away. I actually forgot to get ice cream because I was so upset. I am so glad I didn't order a bigger cake because I wasted $45. read more

This Albertsons location was renovated recently and it looks great. The inside of the store is extremely spacious and very organized and not to mention the prices for the Flowers have been adjusted to a more reasonable price which is fantastic. The employees at this Albertsons are always so friendly and helpful! That is what makes it stand out compared to similar options nearby. They have a pretty good gluten free selection, whenever a new high demand gluten free snack comes out I usually find it here first. It's always clean and organized inside and very spacious, you don't feel like you have to squeeze by people with your cart. Plenty of checkout lanes as well. read more

Produce looks great. I have been going to this Albertsons for Several years now, but today made me rethink everything coming back. There were two lanes open one being 15 items with cashiers and the self checkout that say 15 items. All going at a snails pace. We got in the cashier line with slightly a little over 15 items, the cashier Phillip made a stink face. But what were we supposed to do. I thought people wanted to work, apparently not. He proceeded to check out the customer in front of us, at an even slower pace, walking away from the register the coming back. I don't know what's wrong with people's manners anymore. Grew up shopping here and continue to do so and never had a complaint except for 11/23/2025. I was grocery shopping with my mom + my 2 toddlers but my oldest was having a regular toddler meltdown, crying over a toy. At check out, I left ahead with my crying toddler while my mom finished checking out with my younger boy. As I'm walking out with my crying son, a cashier named KATHY a few aisles ahead asked the cashier I was at "Did you have any stickers for the crying baby?" (normal, valid question) and when my cashier said "no, I ran out" the cashier ahead (KATHY) responded, "well what about some Duct Tape?" suggesting my son's mouth to be taped with Duct Tape for CRYING. I couldn't believe the audacity to ask such an ignorant and senseless question especially when the check out aisles are full of other customers hearing this exchange. I went back inside the store to file a complaint with supervision and was told they'd be forwarding the complaint to management and meeting with "Kathy" over the incident. Absolutely NOT okay to ever make such a comment about another person's child. read more

I never had anything bad to say about this store, I love this store and have shopped here for manny many years. I sometimes after work if don't feel like cooking come and purchase fried chicken here. This was around 6pm 3/13/26. As soon as I started a line and someone else got behind me I heard an employee say to another employee "well that didn't last very long", I asked if they were going to make more chicken since they didn't have enough for what I wanted to order, clearly he didn't seem interested in making anymore and suggested I wait 25 to 30 minutes when it usually 15 minutes max that they ever have me wait. Big store with a large selection, and people are nice. But god forbid you need assistance with anything. I've sat waiting at the meat counter 20+ minutes several times even after asking someone to page the meat clerks. If the self checkout gets jammed due to an incorrectly scanned item you might as well start over somewhere else. FOR THE STAFF AT THE INSIDE STARBUCKS. Especially Teresa! She gave me a refill and THEN I proceeded to spill it all over the floor in the store at checkout. She sweetly gave me an entire replacement coffee and was so very kind about it. HOWEVER, the Albertsons staff cleaning up the spill were not happy and treated me like I was the worst bother ever. Experience: this grocery store feels much larger than other grocery stores in Escondido. The isles are pretty wide, well lit inside, the lines for check out have red squares on the floor to encourage social distancing, and they have a lot of everything you need. Being we spent the day in Escondido, it was only fitting to venture to a grocery store here too, picked up some snacks and waters. We literally walked the entire store. There is a cute (empty) Starbucks at the front/exit then a pharmacy that tucks Starbucks in its own area... the meat/seafood section looked filly stocked and it was very clean, spacious and still had the quarantine markers on the store for making aisle one-way. We noticed employees stalking shelves, produce and cold items. The restroom facilities were clean. While waiting for munchkin notice the employee grab some cleaner and start in the men's restroom.... we noticed only a couple registers open but everyone seemed to stand in one line for 1 register. It was a bit puzzling. In any event we ventured over to the self-swrvice checkouts which appeared to be 4 back-to-back with 2 spaced out next to each other. Self checkout was a breeze. Although there was no bags, we didn't mind as we keep extra in the car. As you walk out and before hitting the Starbucks part there is a lovely display of flower arrangements and orchids for purchase. Would definitely venture back if in the area. Not sure why this place has such 1-star reviews. read more

The Albertsons for you app that stores all my coupons and discounts does not link to the store or apply those coupons or discounts automatically. I have to literally argue with the attendance in order to get my discounts. The employees do not seem to deal with stress effectively. One employee who I tried to help me continued to talk over my explanations on why I deserve to discount. Then when I tried to explain to her what the problem was she just walked away to get the manager. Kudos to the manager he resolved my issue within 2 minutes that was after spending around 10 arguing with the attendance who did not have a clue on what was going on. I went to the pharmacy to get a shot and the employees seemed to be oblivious in general. I asked simple questions and the had a slacker nonchalant attitude and offered no explanation to my questions it was strange. My mom and I shop at this store. But no longer. Yesterday Phillip was very rude to my mother. She is 82 and can't see very good and walked up to the empty line with 17 items. Yes it was the 15 items or less but no one was in line so she just walked up. I went behind her and put 5 items up. He looked at my mom and said " this express lane so you have to many items" and my mom was going to move and I said... "No"and took 2 items from my mom. This was ridiculous, not one person was behind us. This is not the first time Phillip has done this. We were paying and he yelled at the customer behind us for the same issue and they were 1 item over. I mean his eye sight and counting skills are on point but what you pay him for which should be great customer service sucks. Makes customers wait in lines too often for too long. They also play pretty terrible music when you're shopping, that you're obviously forced to listen to. I had to listen to a guy repeat "On the Wings of Love!" 50 times in one song while I was in their store. Their music selection gets painfully annoying. If I was an employee in their store I'd quit in a week if they made me listen to such horrible music all the time. It's bad enough just being a customer in there for 30 minutes. Also, they don't have the bags of almonds that I like to buy, but Ralphs does have them. Also, their prices are high compared to other markets I go to around Escondido. Also, my credit card had trouble reading at one of their machines, and I couldn't pay with my credit card. I had to go to the ATM to get money, then go back to the cashier. Of course, I still had to pay the standard ATM fine for taking money out. Why should I have to pay an ATM fine to take money out just because YOUR credit card machine didn't work, Albertsons? I don't have to do that anywhere else. Also there's a guy who works there in the front, his name is Philip, and his is constantly a jerk. All the time, he gives snotty remarks and mean customer service. He's been doing it for years. I never even said anything mean to the guy, I don't even know him. Disappointed AGAIN. Been going to the store for ~10 years. Now, someone decided to reshuffle everything, so nothing is where it used to be. Also, quality of vegetables seems lacking. Today, picked up a pack of strawberries only to find mold on the bottom. Then picked up a cucumber and it split in half. FINALLY found where the have put the cans of Perrier but no cucumber Perrier. Clerks are fine, nice people and as helpful as they can be but someone should take a good look at the management. read more
