Kora from deli saved the day!! I realized that I didn't have enough food for my son's party. I went to the deli to ask if they're able to help me place an order a croissant sandwich platter. Given that the party was less than 15 hours away. I didn't know that we are supposed to give at least 24 hours noticed. (My fault) Kora assured me that she was able to help. She totally put me at ease instantly. She took my order and sent me on my way. Following day, with my terrible planning, I had to pick the food up much sooner than my 10 am pick up time. I visit this location a couple times a month. It is always clean. The people who work there are friendly if you ever have questions. The prices are typically very fair. The seafood quality is excellent!! The buy one, get one deals are a bit of a scam (hence the 4 stars) since they jack up the prices to nearly $10.00 a pound....I learned that lesson once. read more

Had to do a late night run to Albertsons and the security guard was the worst. I knew that they would be closing shortly and he also let me know loudly. It felt like he was shaming me for even coming in. I knew that I should have gone earlier but I had just gotten out of work and could not go in earlier and it was super urgent. I felt bad for going in so late and he made me feelworse. No joke I got there at 10:49 left at 10:55. I knew I wasn't going to take that long but he did not care. The women at the register was super nice though. Would not recommend coming here. Security Gaurd even told me "you don't even know what we go through" as I was going into the store. This review is specifically for Tony in the bakery. He is an absolute God send!!! He was the hero of the day today. My daughter bought a cake from someone on "Escondido Friends" from Facebook. Paid for the cake a week in advance, and the final product was absolute crap. My wife went to Tony and gave him about 10 minutes notice and he worked a miracle. I love this Albertsons, I have been going here since I was in 2nd grade when it first opened. Many of the employees have changed over the years, but there are also the trusty and true who I love to see whenever I visit! When my wedding came around in December, I knew that I needed a piece of Albertsons in it and I decided to go to the cake master, Tony, in bakery for my wedding cake! My cake was MORE delicious looking than I could have ever imagined and it tasted decadent AND it only cost me $31!!! My videographer (who has done weddings all over San Diego) said it was the best looking cake he's ever seen at a wedding! See the pictures and decide for yourself! We froze it and ate it two months later and it was still as amazing as our wedding night! This is my go to weekly grocery store and I love shopping here. I know the checkers and they are all first rate. This review is of the pharmacist from South Africa only. I had interactions with him in the past which were fine. On my last visit to the store he erupted in an anger outburst at me that was prolonged, unprovoked and severe. It was an upsetting experience and I will not return to the store because of it, which makes me sad because I like the store. Beware of this pharmacist. Newer, tidy store with lots of selection. Pros: meat department They go out of their way to accommodate customers. When they were out of the chicken thighs at the counter (the $1.99 special), they provided the prepackaged thighs instead. AND they recalculated the cost so I would pay the $1.99 price. They could have just issued a rain check or told me to come back the next day. Instead, they made me a happy customer! Cons: cashiers C'mon, please use the quantity key. No point having everyone wait while scanning the same difficult- to-scan bottle ten times. Argh! read more

Hello. I'm writing this because this store not only has a horrible work environment for the employees but even for us customers. A manger there named Blanca is nothing but rude to her employees even as we wait in line. Also have had more than one time where cashiers said they were going to quit just because of this manager always making work more like a place to suffer than to honestly get the work done. I can't see how they can deal with an environment that seems nothing but hostile from the outside. I feel that this store should be looked in to for numerous reasons by the City, County, State and federal regulators who deal with this kind of thing. This work environment is horrible the way they treat employees and costumers. This is not expectable standers to be working or living by. This store is unprofessional and lackluster at very best and must be addressed before someone much more important steps in to fix it. Get on it on this before someone reaches out to someone to fix for you! read more

I usually shop at Vallarta because they have everything I need at affordable prices...one day I decided to try Albertsons. 2 things happened: 1. The same brands I usually buy were there, same sizes and everything, but were nearly $3 more, some items were worse! GROSSLY OVER-PRICED! No wonder the store was virtually empty. I'd estimate that there were 5 people shopping there, including me! That was convenient but the prices WERE NOT. 2. There was only 1 lane open, had 2 customers in it, so I decided to use the self checkout. I've used self checkouts a million times, never really had a problem until THIS DAY. The machine kept telling me that I had an unexpected item in the bagging area, but I did not. Everything that was in the bag had already been scanned and rang up. The man who was standing there, the employee, just stood there and watched me. Didn't offer any assistance at all. So after about 2 minutes of trying to get the machine to work I grabbed all my stuff in the bagging area and took it over to the lane that was open. At that point the employee from the self checkout came to me and said "oh did you want to cancel all this over here?" I said "yes go ahead and cancel it the machine is giving me problems." He said to me "all it's asking is how you want to pay for your items." I said "yeah maybe now it's asking that, but for 2 minutes straight it was saying something else and I was trying to figure out the unexpected item in the bagging area and you just stand there and watch me with no help at all." So I cancelled all his self check out garbage, checked out at the lane and left. I was two seconds away from punching this guy in the face. He had a major attitude problem too. Albertsons sucks and so does the guy at the self checkout. NEGATIVE STARS! Between the prices & customer service it's a wonder that they're still in business read more

This place has the worst customer service at the checkout than any place I've ever seen and rude cashiers no one wants to help you but I have to say the people at the deli are awesome except the lady forgot to put the lid on tight on my salad so when I got to the register and fell over in my bag so I tried to clean it up while I was at the register and all the young girl could say was ma'am you're not supposed to bring bags inside I said I think I have a bigger issue here do you have any napkins and she was so rude to me she said let me stop my line and turn off my light and let me get it just the way she talked to me I didn't mean to bring my bag but I had it in my purse cuz some stores let you use your bags and bags of food yourself and then she spent even longer wiping it down Andre bag and everything for me but before I even got to her ask for two people at the self-checkout to help me and nobody would help me I just stood there and waited people ignore you there it's horrible and I am a quality control inspector I'm very disappointed and from the reviews apparently so are many others retrain your people especially the younger kids to talk nice to people I'm a senior read more

We used to shop Albertsons religiously, until moving to Escondido. The more I go to this store the more I realize how many unsavory characters there are loitering outside as well as "shopping" inside. I use shopping lightly as I've noticed they're in there for energy drinks, junk food, alcohol and cigarettes so it's not exactly like the grocery shopping the rest of us are doing. It's not as extensive as what I'm used to, but they have a fair selection. I will say, the younger guy working the meat counter in the back is the nicest. So far, nobody else, even 1/2 of the checkers, greet us! I'll give them a few more tries before moving on, but certainly no more solo night time visits! read more
