Wow, this Vons on Baldwin Ave in Arcadia has been in business since 1969! My first time visit here. Upon entry, it had a nostalgic feel to it maybe because they have been around for over 57+ years. Aisles were clean and stocked. Lights were bright and shiny. Inside air was fresh and cool. I needed to pick up some chips for guacamole. I could have waited until I got home, but it was already late so I ventured into Vons in hopes they carry the chip brand and type I was looking for. They did have the Mission Restaurant Style Thin Tortilla Chips in stock which was great. The price was about $2 more per bag compared to other supermarkets. Hmmm? Nevertheless, I still bought the 2 bags of chips due to convenience since I was already here. Minus 1 star for the high price. As I was walking out to head towards the registers, I was fascinated and mesmerized by the beautiful bouquets of roses and other flowers. You can say I stopped and smelled the roses. It was indeed a pretty sight as if I was in a wondeful garden. Check out the colorful photos. I used the self-checkout to pay for the chips. It was easy peezy. No interaction with any staff. Do I see myself coming back? Vons probably won't be my go-to supermarket. It will all depend on need only. read more

I have conflicted feelings in shopping at this Vons. lately their marketing /sales tactic is overwhelming, for instance they are trying to induce their customers to buy in bulk with some items, especially on sodas, chips, and every day things /snacks. lots of times they would only give you the "club discount " if you were to buy 4 or more of the same thing.... to me it defeats the purpose of coming here if I would have to pay (20% -40%) more for not buying in bulks. (there are already wholesale places if I were to Buy in bulk anyway). If you are price sensitive and dont like to be duped. Compare your prices, there is always other place that has a more fair sales tactics. This Vons is a reflection of corporate greed. This is definitely not a preferred shopping location for me personally At least currently. read more

1/10/26 Just passing through today. Been here a few nights ago looking for bacon to make clam chowder (coz I learned that 99 Ranch didn't sell it). At first glance, it's really a beautiful looking supermarket. I didn't encounter a staff member as I was just looking to use their facilities while Hubby bought his Diet Coke. Unfortunately, the women's restroom (one stall) lock was broken but I really had to go. Luckily I just asked Hubby to guard the door while I did my business. Afterwards, I did another cursory look to the floral area & delicatessen, saw a Panda Express stall, a Starbucks inside and even quickly visited the fresh produce department. Their bakery section is quite large for a supermarket (I saw during my first visit). Maybe this store received a remodel but restrooms do look like they need some TLC, especially the LOCK on the women's). I would give it a 3.5. Maybe if I visit it again for some more bacon (lol) & further prolong my shopping experience, I might learn more things to love about it? read more

... and it's all over. My daughter convinced me that she wanted panda express, and with a vague memory that there was one inside the store, we ventured over. It's been years since I've been in here. So long that I forgot I reviewed this on yelp at 11 years ago Interestingly, James T., the affable checker is still here. It looks older, maybe more experienced, but he's still a kind soul. Unfortunately, panda express has shuttered here. There's a little sign that says visit our store at the San Diego Mall. They didn't bother to publish... After you park half a mile away and then wander in, almost getting hit several times in the parking lot, and maybe run over by hoodlum teenagers riding motorbikes through the actual mall proper. But I guess that wasn't that much room on the sign. The rest of the store looks like one of the markets in Handmaid's Tale: bizarre, non-natural lighting, high prices, disguised as sale prices, and an eclectic mix of time honored brands, and "what the hell is this?" stuff you've never heard of. As we shook our heads in disgust at the panda express empty stall, we walked by the hot food deli, and the lady yelled at me. We only have chicken. I didn't ask. I didn't even suggest I wanted to check in. I didn't even think I wanted chicken, which eliminates the possibility that she's psychic. Anyway, we wandered out of the store with that same sinking feeling you got high school or college as you're walking away from someone that just dumped you. Ostensibly, you'll feel better later... But for the time being, it hurts a little bit. Especially knowing that you're not ever coming back. read more

Start properly keeping stock on sale items. I do not appreciate having to drive to another Vons or Albertsons to get what I need. It is a waste of time. Also annoying when your staff doesn't pick up calls. I would like to not waste my money, time and energy on going to your location and not getting what I need. Also another side note, make the Halloween displays for family friendly. The creepy decorations/displays made my little scared and have a nightmare! That was NOT appropriated! read more

Made a quick pit stop at Vons to grab an 8-piece fried chicken meal, with coleslaw and a 4-pack of Hawaiian rolls (hey, no judgment...sometimes you just need that perfect low-key comfort food!). The meal was hot and ready. But there was unexpected bonus: a walk over to the wine area revealed dozens of red tags and 50% off a wide selection of wines. As someone who isn't a regular wine drinker but likes to keep a few bottles handy to avoid going to friends' homes empty-handed, this was a no brainer. This Vons is a reliable spot. Good deli counter, Panda Express, and Starbucks with a chill little hang out spot to go over you grocery game plan in peace. read more

You won't believe it. It took me more than 30 mins to get a bottle of pedialyte from aisle 7. First, I asked the pharmacy department, I think the calling button on the shelf is not working or out of battery. The staff at the flower department helped me called for help. After 5mins, I asked the Casher and he helped me called for help again. Still no one show up. At the end, I asked the customer service department, they called again. Finally someone came and helped me open the shelf. Woowowowow!!!!! What an experience!!! I think Vons really needs to do something to improve their customer service. I been to CVS and asked to get something from the locked shelf many times. They are very efficient, even when they are very busy. Hopefully the manager can read this review. . read more

I have been shopping at this store since it first opened, and I've never seen it in the condition it was in today. A few weeks ago, I called and spoke with the new store manager, Russ, to let him know that the floors were extremely dirty especially in the produce department, the self-checkout area, and the south entrance. He told me he was the new manager and asked me to give him a couple of weeks to get things under control. Unfortunately, very little has changed. With the exception of one early Monday morning visit, the floors have continued to be dirty, no normal traffic just uncleaned dirty. Today, the condition was so poor that it actually made me uncomfortable shopping there. I asked to speak with Russ. When he came to Customer Service, he didn't greet me or ask how he could help. Instead, he simply said what do you need. I reminded him of our previous conversation and explained that the store was still consistently dirty. His immediate response was, "So you're telling me I'm doing a bad job?" I replied that, as the store manager responsible for the overall condition of the store, I felt he he was doing a poor job. He then blamed it on the holiday weekend. I explained that I've shopped at this location through countless holiday weekends over the decades, and I have never seen the store this dirty. Additionally, the former store managers never let customers shuck corn in the store because it was a safety hazard with all the corn husks on the floor. Now there is a cardboard box overflowing with corn husk and the husks are all over the entire store floor, an accident waiting to happen. What disappointed me most wasn't just the condition of the store it was the lack of accountability and customer service. Rather than acknowledging the concern or assuring me it would be addressed, I was met with defensiveness and excuses. A grocery store should be clean, especially in areas where fresh food is sold. The consistently dirty floors at the entrances, in produce, self-checkout, and throughout much of the store create a poor shopping experience and leave a negative impression. I will be contacting corporate to share my concerns because this location has historically been well-managed, and I hope it can return to the standards customers have come to expect. I have a lot more photos to share with corporate. read more

1 star because I do not feel safe shopping there anymore. I will no longer shop there. There is a man who takes a very huge dog (looks like crossbreed of pitbull and bullmastiff) in the store regularly without a leash. He strolls/parades the dog without a leash around the store for attention. Poor Guy must crave attention that he can only get from parading his dog. No Service Animal vest. As of yet, I have not seen this man with groceries. This store is going have a big lawsuit on their hands if the dog decides to bite someone. Vons is putting their customers and employees at risk. In California, dogs (even Service Animals) are required to be on a leash when out in public. Shame on Vons for allowing this! Vons will be responsible for allowing this dog in their store without a leash. (picture below is not of the dog in the store but similar looking and taller) BTW, called corporate and they do not seem to care. Bye, Vons! read more

Von's Arcadia (nee Pavilions) is a great place to shop if you happen not to have any questions. The staff is generally not that friendly, and makes me understand you it was broken down from a Pavilions down to a Von's. It's a shame they don't treat customers the way Ralph's employees do! read more

I don't know why they have 7 checkout stands when they only ever open 1. Avoid unless you enjoy standing in a very long line.

My experience with Audrey, the manager at the Vons on Naomi in Arcadia, was extremely disappointing. She was curt, dismissive, and completely lacking in warmth or professionalism. Her attitude made what should have been a simple interaction unnecessarily unpleasant. What was especially telling was the reaction of several other employees nearby. While they didn't say anything, their expressions and demeanor seemed to silently confirm that Audrey's behavior was not an isolated incident. A manager should set the tone for excellent customer service, but Audrey did exactly the opposite. Her lack of courtesy and basic people skills left a very negative impression. Vons should seriously reconsider whether someone with this kind of attitude is the right person to represent the store and interact with customers. Thank you read more

I've done curbside pickup here twice, and both times were a nightmare. One time it took them over 20 minutes to bring out my order, it was a Tuesday afternoon 1PM when the store was completely empty. Second time no one ever showed up with my order. There is clearly a major flaw in their pickup system. What's the point of ordering ahead if it takes longer than doing the shopping myself? This review is specifically in regards to an employee named ZACK. I normally order my groceries through the Vons app as I have Fresh Pass. Up until yesterday I had an issue with my order, that was not delivered during the timeframe given, so I called Vons customer service. It's a LONG story but the part where Zack comes in is when the customer service rep Tom calls the Vons in San Gabriel (this location) to find out where my food is and Zack answers (we are on 3 way). Tom inquires about my food order & when Zack hears me, the customer, upset at Tom for having me on hold for 25+minutes & an array of other things, Zack decides to jump in and tells me to "Calm down, blah blah blah." A WHOLE bunch of PURE BS! He has NO CLUE what I just went through with Vons customer service! So Zack decides to get aggressive with me, not to mention RUDE so I tell him to mind his own business & that this does NOT concern him. He continuously tries to get in the middle of Tom & I until Tom has to separate the calls. Tom ends up talking to ZACK for 15 minutes while having me on hold just to tell me that THEY don't know where my order ended up! Seriously?!! ZACK continued to try to intervene until I asked Tom "why is he still on the line with us?!" ZACK is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, OBNOXIOUS, NOSEY AS HELL, & does NOT know a thing about customer service! Today (next day) I re-placed my food order. Want to hear something funny? Today I received tuna that is expiring TOMORROW, and TWO turkey sandwiches that also expire TOMORROW (that look BROWN & NOT pink). Now is that a coincidence or what! LOL! I have NEVER been sent expired, or close to expired food up until today. I DID call this Vons location & confirmed that ZACK did indeed pack my order. Ha! I put in a call/complaint with corporate & with this stores location. Bitch I'm going to have the last laugh, ZACK. :) read more

Went on Sunday 3/15 at around 11:00 AM past the self checkout and the price listed after discount was higher than the price it was supposed to be on the shelf. I input my rewards information and the discount didn't apply. As the checkout area staff was passing by, I flagged down Karen for some help. It was my first and only time asking for help today and she told me extremely rudely that I need to be patient and can't I see that she has other things to do? Firstly, I waited patiently for the other customer to be helped and now the self checkout area is empty. Secondly, half the time the cashier staff are just standing around chatting. Thirdly, you can just tell me to wait a moment; there is no need to tell someone who was waiting patiently and wants to ask a question that they need to be more patient... but this is not odd treatment - Everytime I shop at this location I see Karen or another cashier staff being extremely rude. Never any greetings when they are your cashier. No hi no thank yous. read more

Came here randomly after grabbing boba at Yi Fang next door and was surprised how big it was! You immediately notice that they have a Panda Express inside which was crazy and really cool but it also had your usual Starbucks inside like a normal Vons. We checked out their alcohol section and they have a security guard watching over it. They didn't have a great selection so we just grabbed some cans of Arizona Tea and scratchers and were about to leave till we noticed something.. They have a Pokémon Center vending machine at this location! The only other one we've seen is in Burbank! We were very surprised to see it but they didn't have the latest set out yet. COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. While I was grabbing my groceries from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive. Lots of parking spots for you to choose from. The aisles are pretty wide for two carts to pass by each other. Everything is organized in a way that makes sense. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I really love this Vons location -- it's always clean, well-stocked, and the staff is generally very friendly. I appreciate how convenient it is and how smoothly most of my visits go. That said, I do want to share a concern I've noticed more than once. There is a cashier named James who is always friendly and kind, and I truly don't want to sound petty or unkind -- but I've observed a serious hygiene issue that needs to be addressed. His fingernails are often very long with lots of visible dirt underneath, and it appears he doesn't wash his hands regularly - if ever really. or at least not throughly. This makes me uncomfortable, especially in a grocery setting where cleanliness really matters. I hesitated to say anything because I don't want to cause trouble -- but I hope this can be passed along to management in a respectful way. I'm sharing this because I care about this store and want it to continue being a place customers can trust. Thank you! read more
