I have going to Volume Beauty for over 2 years on a consistent basis. Tamana is sweet, easy to talk to and is amazing at what she does. I have also seen Marina who is talented as well. For the majority of the time my lashes would be great 2 to 3 weeks. In August my lashes started to fall off quicker than normal. I understand we have lash cycles and I do not fault Volume Beauty for this. It got to a point where I was needing a fill after 6/7days. One of the days I wanted to be seen they were closed so I called first thing on a Tuesday. I was told since I was just in 8 days ago I was only going to be charged $45. They waited until after my fill to tell me this would count as a normal fill and gave me a discount of 10%. I thought it was a bit inconsiderate and unprofessional to wait until after my service to tell me this. I have decided to take a break from my 3D Volume lash extensions. I think Volume Beauty is great at what they do, they are clean and very nice. Keeping up with lash extensions can be pricey but the quality lashes they use is great. I wanted to feel pretty so I splurged! I got the 3D Natural set on special for $125 ($175) regularly. The last time I tried lash extensions was back in 2012 for my bachelorette. The quality was not great and I was told they ruin your natural lashes so I stopped. I also have long lashes but they're blonde and flat. Literally impossible to keep a curl on these lashes. My recent visits to Volume Beauty tell me the quality and care in the lash extension industry has evolved. My set looks voluminous and natural, not over the top, and I get compliments regularly from coworkers, random folks at the grocery store, etc. They also don't hurt and I have yet to notice any of my actual lashes falling out which is a huge plus. My lashes were done by Hannah. 5 stars for Hannah. She is so sweet and patient. I have to lay in a certain position with pillows (during my 1st touch up I brought my own from home) because I can't lay on my back due to pregnancy. She has been very accommodating in allowing me to switch sides as necessary. The only problem?! This is an expensive habit and I always feel guilty spending this much money on vanity! It's $75 to touch up every 2 weeks. I'm not sure how long I'll keep this up, but for now I really love having full and beautiful lashes. Makeup is a breeze these days! I set up an appointment over the phone and was able to come in sooner since they notified me of a cancelled appointment. The space is inviting and colorful. I had a really horrible experience here near the end of March that honestly scarred me for life and haven't had my eyelashes done since.. I love the look but have been traumatized since I've been to this place. Here's the back story: i follow them on IG and one day they posted they had open spots for student lash tech for a cheaper price than the original prices which are insane(you can get your lashes done by professionals for half this price) .. i don't remember the girls name but she was Blonde and really sweet (everyone there was very nice) So I've had my lashes done once before by a girl in San Jose named LashedByNgoc on instagram (not plugging her she doesn't take new clients anyway because she's so booked) so this was my second time but i never once had my lashes caught on the eye-pad, maybe it's normal and the first girl i did it with just had steadier hands ...who knows but what really pissed me off was the fact she was doing my lashes and I'm assuming an instructor or another colleague tried correcting her multiple times and she literally snapped back at her basically telling her to stop hovering and "she knew what she was doing" At that point i should have just got up and left but stayed because i was already half an hour in and i knew i wasn't going to someone super experienced but i would think experienced ENOUGH for this place to let them lash on real people!!! Anyway near the end she was pretty much ripping my lashes off the eye-pad and nothing came off but the tugging did hurt and this poor girl was struggling.. So fast forward i left and noticed every time i blinked my eyelashes felt a tugging and i figured maybe it's fine and my eyelids are just sore from earlier... Now i couldn't come back the next day because i was in a rush to leave with my boyfriend for vacation and he could vouch for me i was examining my lashes the whole ride to SoCal trying to figure out what the hell was hurting me and i realized their were clumps of glue stacked all crazy near the roots of my lashes that were hurting so bad. We ended up getting back to our hotel and i spent the whole night upset and in f% tears taking off the extensions with tweezers and warm water and makeup remover (it was all i had) I was in tears from frustration and pain because some of my real lashes came off with the extensions... fast forward after i get back from my trip the salon called to ask how my experience was and i told her and she pretty much blew me off. Didn't even try to comp me for ruining my lashes. Never heard 1 sorry. Only posting this now because my mom called me this morning asking if i know any places to lash out here and i told her to avoid this place at all costs. read more

Went in for eyelash extensions and love the results. Marina was so gentle, professional and personable that she made the experience very pleasant. That bring said, I paid substantially more than I've paid for past extensions at other salons, despite the purported discount price of $100 (I had to give a deposit of $50 at the time I booked the appointment). I've always been able to keep my extensions for several weeks, sometimes up to 7. Thus time, however, the lashes began falling out after only da few days. It has now been a week and I have lost a lot of lashes. It is doubtful that they will be around much longer. I donor think I will return as I don't feel I got bang for my buck. If you're ok with spending that much every 2 weeks to keep your lashes looking full, more power to you. read more

UPDATE: This is an update of my first review. I've been going to Volume Beauty salon for almost a year now and they only get better! I transitioned from volume lashes to classic lashes (or sometimes both) when I realized I don't wear as much makeup these days. They are very accommodating with your requests and always make sure you are satisfied with your results. I've gotten my lashes applied by Tamana and Francis and they both do flawless work. The environment is super relaxing; I fall asleep and it makes a 45 min appointment feel like 5 minutes. They get pretty busy during the week so I would call at least a week or 2 ahead to book and secure an appointment. Appointments start on time and all the staff members and professional and friendly. I look forward to my fills every week and cant imagine going anywhere else! read more

I've been to this place a while now and it's gotten so busy. Tamana is the owner and the best at the lashes of course, but her schedule is always booked and you can never get an appointment in. The other technicians are new and no where as skilled which is the problem for several reasons. 1) the lashes don't get put on as beautifully 2) they don't last as long 3) they appointment takes way longer. In the last few months I've had the most painful lashes because they weren't placed correctly, allowing them to poke me constantly in the eye and fall off so easily that I constantly had to pick lashes from out of my eyeball (if you've never had this happen to you before, it's the most painful feeling and really not fun when it happens while you're driving). Also, the last time I got a fill, the new technician left me with globs of glue on the lashes. I've had lashes done for the last 5 years at various locations so I know what's normal and what's not. This was definitely not normal. Tamana is great, but it's getting too busy just for her and the the other technicians haven't been able to do as well. I'm disappointed to have to find another regular place. Oh and to the owners: please either get new front desk staff or train them to speak more politely to customers. They are the most unpleasant people to talk to and never smile. I know the salon is busy and you have more than enough clients to fill your schedule, but if your receptionists continue to talk to them the way you're doing now, you soon won't be. read more

I have had extensions done at 5 different places, this is by far the most professional! They measure your lash, take the time to ask what you want and they take their time to make sure they are an A+ job! Today there was one little spot that I wanted a lash added and they did it no problem, they were so kind and didn't make me feel bad about asking. I really really appreciate that!! I can tell the products used are high quality and the over all feel of the salon is classy and very very clean! I $100 recommend coming here for your lashes. Just moved from SoCal to NorCal and had a really hard time finding a place that does volume lashes (not just singles). Yesterday I went to Yisinia that did my 1st fill and she did a wonderful job. I did the Classic Volume 3D lashes and they are full and fluffy. I only wished I had gone with the Mega 3D but WILL be doing this on my 2 week fill. I hate to leave this review but these were my lashes after I left the salon I couldn't tell at first, but when I got in my car it was a whole damn mess I don't know if i would even get them done again. Disappointed by the quality I tried to brush them out and it's still all over the place there was a few gaps eh... Wasn't a good first time experience here as for how my lashes turned out and maybe because she was new I took a risk hopefully this will be a learning experience for all. My birthday & mother's day always fall on the same weekend so I got a treat- eyelash extensions! This is my first time ever getting eyelash extensions so I was kind of nervous. When I called I had no idea what to request but the girl over the phone suggested their Mother's Day special for $125- yay, I love saving too so that was a great plus (According to their Instagram the regular price for the eyelashes I got was $199). Francis was very informative. I had a bunch of questions but I felt like she answered them all within the first 5 minutes of our session. I also asked her if anyone has ever fallen asleep during a session and she was like "Oh yeah, of course," because I didn't want to be rude if I did. The process took under an hour and I dozed off for a hot minute. The ambiance is spa-like with soft music and clean atmosphere so I felt very relaxed. Some friends have said that the process might "hurt" but I didn't feel any pain. I absolutely loved my lashes. I've worn eyeliner everyday for my young adult life and this was the first time I felt comfortable to ditch my eyeliner and rock my eyelashes. I got a ton of compliments on them and not going to lie, this was the extra confidence boost I needed as a "young" mom! This place just placed an add for a lash stylist on Indeed.com. I am appalled that they are barely paying minimum wage and require a 1 year contract. Estheticians and cosmetologists are highly trained, must be state licensed and require extra training on lashes. They deserve better pay. This is straight from their ad: "Training is voluntary but if hired you will then be compensated for time of training." In other words, you only get paid if you are hired. Think about that when you pay up to $250 for lashes. Your lash stylist is making less than $30 to do that service. In-n-Out pays better and has benefits. read more

I spent New Year's Eve wicked self conscious about it. Then when I went for my fill that was within the two week window I half expected them to come my fill bc the set fell off.
