Ofer of Volt Locksmith installing my full replacement lock and knob.
Kimberly T.

Honest prices, quality work, customer service. I called Volt to completely replace the lock and handle on my apartment door. I had been forced to have the previous lock drilled and removed the night before (by a different company) due to a malfunction with the mechanism. When I called that other company again to have the replacement installed, the technician quoted me a price that was nearly $100 MORE than the fee they had charged for the removal. I decided that I was being taken advantage of, so I searched for a different locksmith and came upon Volt. I spoke to Ofer, the part owner, and he quoted me a price that was more than reasonable (almost $200 LESS than the other company's offer). Ofer was at my apartment within a half hr, showed me his locksmith license without any prompting, and had finished the entire replacement within 10 minutes. He even went out of his way to pose for/provide all the evidentiary photos I'd need to be sure that I received a full reimbursement from my landlord. I was very, very impressed with the level of customer service and professionalism this company had to offer, will call them again should the need arise, and would recommend them to anyone looking for locksmith services.

The reviews for this business are fake. I recommend you stay far away. I'm afraid to say more.

I initially contacted this business to ask if they sold and programmed car keys, as I had lost one…read moreof my original keys over the years. The owner told me he could both provide and program a replacement. He explained that I could choose an aftermarket key, which might cause a dashboard warning light that should go away, or I could choose an OEM key that he would source from the dealership, which would cost more but would not cause any issues. Wanting to avoid any headaches, I chose the OEM option. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When the key arrived, I scheduled an appointment to have it programmed. At first, everything seemed fine--the remote started the car and unlocked the doors without issue. However, once I drove away, a red key warning light appeared on the dashboard along with a "keyless entry malfunction" message. I immediately contacted the business and was told to give it two weeks and that the issue would resolve itself. Two weeks later, the light was still on. I returned to the shop, and the owner instructed me to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and reconnect it. I did this and waited another two weeks, but the problem persisted. When I returned again, I was told the issue might be the remote batteries and that I needed to replace them and reintroduce each key--both the original and the newly programmed one--one at a time after disconnecting the battery again. I followed those instructions and spent additional money on new batteries. At this point, nearly two months had passed. Now BOTH remotes(my original and their replacement) function intermittently. If the car does not unlock, I have to manually open the door with the cut key, disconnect and reconnect the battery, and then start the vehicle. I returned to the business and simply asked for a refund for the labor so I could take the key to the dealership and have it programmed correctly. Instead, they refused and I was berated. The interaction was especially upsetting because my toddler was with me at the time. I feel like I got scammed here. I paid for parts and labor, and now I have to go to the dealership to fix the issue they created. Everything ran fine till he started "programming" his remote. I hope others have better luck. UPDATE: 12/23 went to the dealer and fixed the issue. I ended up getting a new remote and a reprogram of all the keys including the original vehicle key(when I purchased the vehicle). I attached a printout from the dealer stating "incorrect component installed" as per their system which was what this business installed and gave me all the issues. So the premium I paid for the "OEM dealer factory" remote/key at the store was not actually all OEM. What a joke. Huge relief the dealer fixed their mess and the remotes work. Should have went to the dealer from the beginning, I would have saved money, a headache and the embarrassment.
