I've been using Larry the Locksmith for all my key/lock and basic home hardware needs for all of my 23 years in the South Riverdale neighborhood. I made an appointment to have car key copies done. The guys had an earlier opening come up unexpectedly, so they called me to see if I want to come in earlier. I appreciated the helpful communication and the great service. I saved a significant cost by doing my Honda car key there, as opposed to the dealer or other locksmith services I've tried in the past. Thanks guys! read more

Larry The Locksmith - Complementary keychain fob with bottle opener, flashlight, and tape measure, when I did my car key at Larry the Locksmith--nice touch. - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Bronx, New York

Joe was the locksmith..his work is just ok.. He has no sense of artistry. When positioning a steel side bar, he didn't set it UNDER the top key hole plate ( which aesthetically looks better) . The bottom portion of the bar could be cut around the lower key hole and screwed into the door. He did the opposite. He sloppily cut the upper portion of bar around the upper key hole plate and screwed it into the door . The bottom portion of bar wasn't cut, just screwed into the door. Anyway, i provided the Medico cylinder and keys for which he charged as though he provided the product. I'll be using another locksmith to undo what he did. Thanks for nothing. read more

It's wonderful to have a well-stocked local hardware store to pick up the necessities of life. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And all this in addition to being a locksmith!! read more

Too expensive. Would not give an estimate ahead of the job. Technicians arrived unprepared to give estimates and final bill.

Well stocked, great staff, very helpful. If you need projects done and advice moving forward, this is your place!

So my doorknob starts to become loosened after a year and 3 months. I was under the impression that I'd be covered for such issues as this. When I reached out they said their warranty was 90 days (not what I was told originally) and that they didn't know when anyone would be available to come to fix this. Quite disappointing. read more

Extremely unprofessional place I went in there to get some paint and didn't even even tell me that they had a mix it up and woukd take 10 minutes. They seem like space cadets. they told me after I paid. read more

I stumbled upon this business while searching for a locksmith. I called and experienced superior customer service. I was able to send the copies of keys I needed via text. It was confirmed that they had the copies of those keys in stock although they informed me the best way was to come in. I walked in and was greeted. Everyone was super kind. Highly recommend this place for all of your lock smith needs. Didn't meet Larry but I met Joe and the team. read more

Fast efficient service. I wish I had more merchandise, but other than that I have enjoyed shopping at the store for the past 30 years.

I always have a positive experience at Larry the Locksmith! The staff couldn't be nicer and are very knowledgeable about their merchandise. They are the best at making keys. I've even had my car keys replaced here recently and they were both efficient and accommodating! read more

Reliable, professional, efficient and the price was reasonable for my lock change. The locksmith was COVID conscious and provided some tips on security too. It's good to do business with local merchants who care about their community. read more

Great service, fair pricing, honest and reliable, what else can you ask for? Jamie helped us with our broken apartment door, with no attempt to sell us a new lock or anything. read more

He came about the time he said he would and did the job quickly. I was in a jam. I appreciate the service. It was a little pricier than I had expected but I don't have anything to compare it with price wise so it may have been a fair price. read more

I needed some work done for a rental property and everything was done perfectly. Locks were changed, installed, realigned, and fixed on 4 different doors. Prices are fair and my service technician Jamie was knowledgeable, professional, and used his time efficiently. I've been using Larry the Locksmith for many years and will continue to do so. Their hardware store is a great local shop too, with friendly and helpful staff. read more

This is the 2nd time I use Larry The Locksmith, 10 years apart, and this place always delivers! Great customer service, in-store and in my home, just a real pleasure on all levels. Jaime, who came to install a new lock was friendly, so skilled, professional but also personable, tons of experience and so chill. You want to feel comfortable when someone comes to your home, not just because of the pandemic (btw, wore a mask and followed all safety guidelines while here) but also just because someone is coming to your home. Locks and anything having to do with security is not cheap but I trust that I am getting the best price around with Larry The Locksmith. Highly recommend, don't even bother looking elsewhere! Thank you! read more

Larry the Locksmith is a Riverdale treasure. Its customer service ethic harkens to a by-gone era: competence, cheerfulness and a inventory that always seems to have the 'magic bullet' to solve your problem A recent piece of actual lock-smithing brought those qualities right into our home. Jamie was prompt friendly and extremely competent. We love our new lock! Were are LTL regulars and plan to remain so for a long time read more

This is the second time we had Larry the locksmith do our locks. When I moved here seven years ago I had them and now my sister is moving in the same apartment house and I recommended him. Jamie was very professional and went back to the store to get the right lock. It is fantastic that they are in our neighborhood. I would recommend them over and over read more

The woman who runs the place ( forgot her name ) is knowledgeable. I'm new to the area so I asked for a few recommendations. That's a plus.

I used their services multiple times and always been more than satisfied with the work and quality of service offered. Jamie does excellent work. My locksmith of choice without hesitation. read more

For spare car keys, don't go to any Tom, Dick or Harry! Go to Larry!! Hyundai told me if they made a spare key it would be "just the blade" part. It would go through the door lock and I wouldn't be able to pull it out again. Thats how they get you to spend even more money to get the fob as well. So I went to LTL. They made me a key at half the price that Hyundai quoted me AND it was the "blade" with a handle on it so I could pull it out of my door too! Duh. Those car dealerships sure know how to get your $. I'd rather give mine to Larry! read more

Great service, great safety measures and great product and instruction!

They came to my home 4 times over the last few years installing new locks and replacing old ones. They sent an expert every time. These lock smiths were able to do each job right. I tried to do it myself so I know how hard it is. read more

Love this staff!! They called me ahead of time to let me know they were near by and explained everything clearly! Jaime was very knowledgeable and helped me figure out the best option for me. He brought several options and explained the pros and cons. He made me feel comfortable moving into my first place! He was on time and finished so quickly I barely noticed all the work he did. He also cleaned up after himself and explained everything he did as he did it. Would definitely hire them again!! read more

I have a 1940s house and doors in an old house can be tricky. The door knob on the front door came off twice. I tried fixing it myself but quickly realized that I was out of my depth. I called Larry The Locksmith and made an appointment for two days later (it wasn't an emergency). Jamie called me to indicate that he was on his way - he was on-time, which I appreciated. He has such a great attitude and sunny disposition. He explained everything he was doing and finished the repair very quickly. The price was reasonable. I'm looking forward to using this business for all of my lock needs. Thank you, Jamie! read more

My wife and I had to go here, back in May of 2012, to get help for brackets for our AC. They could have sold us stuff and installed it for us, but they saved us money and informed us that our Super actually does it. Instead of taking us for a ride, they looked out for us. Ever since then, my wife and I have been loyal customers. The associates there are very knowledgeable, friendly, and not pushy at all. For such a small store, they have so much stuff. My wife and I definitely recommend this place. read more

From the time I first spoke with Joe on the phone to the time the two locksmiths walked out the door, everything was super professional, and I felt like I had called the right people. Joe listened to everything that was wrong with my locks and gave me an estimate and a Saturday appointment. Then I got a call when they were on their way, and they came during the one-hour window that they'd given me - on time, that is. I had a bathroom doorknob, and three entry locks replaced, and everything came in at the low end of the estimate. I was treated like all my questions and requests were reasonable, which I really appreciate. And I feel like I paid a good price for the peace of mind. read more

Friendly and professional. Not a lot of days when Locksmith is in office, but when he is, the service is excellent. read more

Larry's Locksmith will be my go-to from now on. I called them and they were prompt, efficient and quick. Jamie, the young man that came to my house, truly missed his calling. He should be a doctor instead of a locksmith with that great bedside manner he has. He explained what needed to be done and did his thing. He is a courteous young man who knows his craft. I will be having a door lock replaced in the near future and I definitely know who I will be calling. If all the locksmiths @ Larry's are as good as Jamie, you cannot go wrong! Thanks, Jamie! read more
