They told me to sell the car for whatever I can get out of it . Turned out I had a burned out driving light . They ridiculed me , talked down to me, and called me a liar. I took my vw 2012 gti to this shop because my passenger door would not latch. They called me and told me a new latch would cost about $450 Installed. I did not want to spend that much money. Maybe I can find a latch at wrecking yard or maybe I will sell or trade the car. when I went to pick it up, they told me there was $60 diagnostic fee. I had to pay $60 for them to tell me it needed a new latch. There was no mention up front about diagnostic fee. I was looking for good shop but this is not the one for me. read more

Friendly, honest, and they saved me a lot of money. Two years ago I lost the heat in my car and during that winter cold spell I went to a VW dealer. They quoted me $1,500 for a heater core replacement. I did not get the work done and wore a coat and hat in the car for that winter. Last winter I tried another VW mechanic in town. They told me they may be able to get some heat by flushing the system. They charged me $189 and I got luke warm air for a few weeks. Disappointing. This past week I tried Volkswerks. David told me right away that they rarely have to replace a heater core and they have good experience with a full flush and clean out of the system. He said he could raise the air temp by 100 degrees or so. They charged me $252 and showed me the gunk that was in the core. I drove to work today with very warm air; so warm I had to turn it down. As far as I am concerned that saved me $1,200. read more

I moved to this area after living many years in California and was afraid I couldn't find a replacement for my stellar CA VW mechanic. This place has treated me more than fairly, professionally, and with courtesy. I have a Eurovan, which means it's expensive to fix anyway, but their repairs have been very reasonable. They're even helping me to solve a problem that Molle VW has botched - it was a dealer-only repair. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I'm having a hard time coming up with something good to say about this place. I've had too many overpriced trips to this garage that I'm searching out someplace else to take my VW. They just don't know how to take care of their customers. I could go into a lengthy rehash of my latest trip there, but I'll spare you the gory details. The short version is that they charge double for the same work that I get done at my neighborhood garage, but since they're a VW "specialist" they feel like they can get away with it. By all means, avoid this place if at all possible, unless you hate money. I think setting my money on fire would have been preferable to giving it to them for absolutely no resolution. My normal mechanic is Hank's Auto on 39th Street. They are honest, reasonable in their pricing, and much friendlier and respectful. read more

This place man. We took my fiancé's GLI into them with the chief complaint that it wouldn't start, but told them to fix anything they found because we were tired of it breaking down. So they took the codes that it was throwing (this is the ONLY diagnostics they ran) and replaced the air intake manifold and said it was good to go. We went and picked it up and the pretentious, arrogant mechanic talked our ear off for a solid 45 minutes, telling us he's only been working on Volkswagens and Audis for the last decade or whatever and he knows everything there is to know about them . The car didn't start right away, which should've been our first clue but we got it to start and drove off anyway (our mistake). Two days later my fiancé gets stranded in Topeka because the car won't start again. We asked volkworks to pay to have it towed back to them since the work they did clearly didn't solve the problem. They refused, said it wasn't their fault and wouldn't stand behind their work. So we have it towed to the VW dealership in Topeka and they take a look at it. They tell us that with direct injection engines, carbon build up is a major factor and anyone with any experience with Volkswagen should've known this was an issue and been on the lookout for it. In order to see the carbon build up (which there was a ton; we got before and after pictures; it was stupid obvious and should've been seen by volkworks) you have to remove the intake manifold, which is what volkworks fixed in the first place, so the carbon build up would've been obvious to someone with experience. So the mechanic is either negligent or doesn't know what he's talking about. Then on top of all of that, the dealership tells us the reason it's not starting is the in-tank fuel pump. A $450 fix after we spent nearly $2000 at volkworks. We filed a complaint with the credit card company. We lost, but are considering a small claims court suit, which the VW dealership in Topeka has been nice enough to write statements for. Moral of the story: this place either doesn't have mechanics that are knowledgeable about VW, they aren't thorough in their inspections and just throw money at whatever they find first, OR they're just shitty people trying to take your money and they won't stand behind their work. Either way, avoid them like the plague. read more

I was a loyal customer to this shop even though they charged more than most. I used to think they could be trusted, however, I picked up my car after getting a new ignition switch and noticed they DUCT TAPED the plastic cover over my steering column back on!!! Seriously?!? They told me they refuse to take responsibility because it's just a cosmetic piece that was old and that's why it broke. Even though the mechanic told him he broke the piece! As a VW shop and supposed "expert" shouldn't you be able to remove a part without breaking it? Then he said they will fix it for me if I buy the $65 piece + labor of course.... What's more is that they didn't bring it to my attention, they "overlooked" mentioning it to me and "forgot" to note the problem on my receipt. However; they DID write a list of about $1500 of recommended repairs. If you're smart you'll avoid this shop. read more

Just finished paying them 1300 dollars for a new radiator, new water pump, all new belts, fix my brake calipers, and other little odds and ends on my vw rabbit. I had the car no more than three days when the first problem arose with something they had replaces. After a bit of debate i managed to get them to replace it. Then a week later my radiator blows and this time i am told that they missed the true culprit on their inspection of my car and that the head was warped the whole time and that is what destroyed the radiator and that it was not going to be covered by their warranty. I am told they will need close to 1600 dollars to get the head back in shape before they will even think about the 400 dollar radiator job. I express my concern with this being the reason the radiator blew and suggest another clear possibility that could have caused it. They dismiss it immediately as it would have put them at fault, they also went as far to remove the evidence of this from the car. i thankfully took pictures of this but they still have no idea what i am talking about. They have been short and rude to me ever since i even remotely suggested that their installation of the radiator could have been what caused it to blow. I am now 1300 dollars in the hole with nothing to show for it but an engine that is ruined. I have contacted a lawyer and am getting ready to take them to court over this fiasco. I hope no one else has to deal with these individuals and their terrible customer service and over priced work. I sure couldn't tell they were VW specialist from my experience with them and would advise anyone else looking to get work done on their VW or Audi to look else were. I wish i could have just given them 0 out of 5. read more
