My car, like many cars that are on the market today, has tons of bells and whistles, so adding a battery means doing a reset and reprogram. Guess what? I don't have the tools or the knowledge on how to do that. Could I change a battery many years ago? Absolutely! Could I change a battery now? No way... That's why I needed someone with the tools, the know-how, and the availability. I put in a request via Yelp to get a project started, and Prymo was the first to respond and had availability the next morning. They sent a tech to my house, he quickly diagnosed that the battery had no charge left, even though I had a jump the day before, and he commenced replacement. I didn't have to do anything other than do what I usually do, which is work from home. Fast-forward a half-hour and the job was done. I had a new battery, the tech had reprogrammed everything to its proper state, and he was on his way. Prymo accepts debit and credit, though a credit card purchase will come with a 3% charge, which is very fair since that's what the banks stick to the business. It wasn't cheap, but most of the cost was in the actual battery itself, which came with a five-year warranty. Great response, simple to navigate and schedule, and the tech was professional and skilled. Great experience and highly recommend if you're in the same situation.

Automan/Autoplaza called AFTER they had performed the tire rotation and questioned my logic in performing this service multiple times. Then, he said that the tires were worn out and he just couldn't figure out why, but maybe it was out of alignment. The tires had 42,100 miles on them, and they are rated at 45,000 miles - original equipment on the 2016 vehicle. Rotation at 5,000 miles is standard and recommended by Nissan. So, a repair shop worthy of my continued business would have stopped the rotation when taking the first tire off the car, prepared a quick quote of 2-3 tire options and called me to say that they thought it needed tires and perhaps I would consider that rather than the rotation. Not this guy. Charged $45 for a tire rotation he couldn't rationalize. Was bewildered how my tires may be worn out. Suggested there was something wrong with the car, but offered no evidence to that end. Didn't bother to spec out replacement tires for me (even after I asked him to do so and gave 45 minutes before I came to pick up the car.) Services were pricey - my car takes synthetic oil, but they charged over $27 more for this service than my previous mechanic. The dealer where my wife gets her car serviced does a synthetic change including tire rotation, multipoint inspection, and fluid top-off for about the same price I was charged just for the LOF at Automan/Autoplaza. The scratches on my door will buff out, I'm pretty sure. And, I did contact through the "contact us" option on their website and have received no response.

After taking my car to a different shop this time, I realized they didn't do things that were supposed to be done when replacing an ignition. I don't think they set me up for success when I used this shop. I know someone else who has also used them multiple times for motor issues and continue to have problems after investing a lot off money into this shop. The people are friendly but seems like they aren't precise in the work they do, especially when this work is a lot of money out of pocket.

There's always so much paperwork and trickery with the line system, you have to prep like you're heading into the Bureaucratic Super Bowl. In several cases, especially if your car is getting up there in years, you're going to need a MO vehicle inspection too. City Wide is the perfect place to knock this out. This spot is uniquely unique.. by that I mean it seems like it's sole purpose is there to knock out these inspections in record time. It's no frills, you literally just pull in, stay in your car, and wait a couple minutes. They'll check your wipers, turn signals, a quick look under the hood, jack up each side of the car, and you pay your $12 that'll cover you for the next two years. They do not accept reservations, but from my experience and the other reviews, you really don't need it to get in and out quickly, and it's actually easier this way. In the past, I've dreaded this because so many places won't do appointments for inspections, with the nearest spot wanting me to leave my car overnight "in hopes" that they can get to it the next day. Don't do that! Just head to City Wide on your lunch break and you'll be in and out in no time. My only knock was that when they removed the old sticker, it flaked into hundreds of pieces and littered my dash. Even after getting home and vacuuming and wiping it down, most flakes are buried but visible in my front speaker. It would've been nice to lay down a towel or something to avoid this. But yeah, godspeed to anyone reading this because that means you're likely in the muck when it comes to all things tax + registration + renewal that can be a real pain in this state.. but at least this is one process that's bound to move quickly and efficiently!

I've been here…read morebefore and it's a little more expensive than your typical auto shop, but it's a local business and I like to support them when I can. I recently took my car to get its oil changed because I don't have time to do it right now, and it's the middle of winter so I thought this would be more convenient. Long story short, I go to pick up my car for just an oil change and they tell me it's gonna cost $108. I'm in disbelief. The oil and filter is $40 tops. I'm like, "why in the world is it so expensive??" They tell me they put additional antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid in my car. My car is brand new. It didn't need additional fluids, nor did I ask for them. I said, "so you guys just surprise customers with additional services and charge them more?" They say that's part of their service. That's insane. They upcharged me for things I didn't want, didn't need, without my permission. THEN the guy tells me "it turns out I didn't charge you for any oil last time..." Are you kidding me?? That's not my problem! Can you imagine? "I didn't do my job last time, so I figured I'd screw you over this time around." Absolutely insane. I love Brookside. I go out of my way to support local businesses. But this local business is one that I hope goes out of business.

Brookside 66 charged me over $1,300. They wanted to do diagnostics that were not needed. It specifically says in the summary further diagnostics are needed for the breaks. On newer cars the brake pad life Is listed, and I requested they take a look at them while they had it. I was informed about what I already knew and declined their further diagnostics request. They also said break fluid had traces of moisture though I gave no instructions for this test. I could tell from the phone calls it was quickly turning into a rip-off. Also, according to the write up they said the back plug was striped out and they could not get it back all the way and did not have the equipment to fix that. It's highly likely they striped it since the vehicle has 70k miles and has never had plugs put in or worked on, so Brookside 66 is the only one that has touched the plugs since the factory and is thus likely liable for damages. I was charged $600 for 4 hours of labor. Oil change and break inspection might take 30 minutes which leaves 3.5 hours for plugs. In no universe does it take 3.5 hours for a professional mechanic to change 8 spark plugs. Per the internet the higher end of mechanic wadges is $40 per hours but it appears to me like $150 per hour at Brookside 66. Finally, they did not even reset the oil life on the vehicle.
