After two hours of being there, they said that there was a mistake and then they changed the entire deal. Tried to charge us $9,000 more than what our signed contract agreed to. Textbook bait and switch. They could have cared less that they wasted three hours of our time. Also, where I come from a handshake, a singed contract and someone's word means something. I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't mean anything here. Buyers beware!

Wow are they really that bad? I find it hard to believe that any dealership would risk their…read morelicenses and open themselves up to 30 years in prison and millions of dollars in fines as well as restitution to the affected customers. Reports suggest certain Car Dealers in WV may engage in deceptive practices, including bait-and-switch tactics, changing signed contract terms (like adding thousands in fees/warranties), failing to provide documents, withholding crucial info (like EV tax credits), and hostile customer service, leading to customer complaints filed with the BBB and online reviews highlighting fraud allegations, requiring vigilance and documentation for buyers. Common Allegations & Tactics: Bait-and-Switch: Agreeing on a price, then dramatically increasing it after hours of paperwork. Contract Tampering: Adding undisclosed fees or expensive warranties after signing. Failure to Disclose: Not informing buyers about potential tax credits or warranty details. No Paperwork: Withholding signed contracts, making it hard to verify terms later. Misleading Financing: Inflating financed amounts or misapplying credits. Hostile Treatment: Becoming aggressive or unhelpful when issues arise. What to Do If You Encounter This: Document Everything: Keep all emails, texts, photos, and notes from conversations (dates, names, times). Review Contracts Carefully: Check for hidden fees, APR, and total cost before signing. File Complaints: Report issues to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the West Virginia Attorney General's Office. Seek Legal Advice: Contact a consumer protection lawyer if you've lost money. Be Wary: Be cautious if a deal seems too good or if staff pressure you to sign quickly. Key Takeaway: Consumers report a pattern of potentially fraudulent dealings, emphasizing the need for extreme caution and thorough due diligence. "Kicking the car" (or "kicking the trade") is an unethical, high-risk sales tactic where a dealership advises a consumer to abandon their current, "upside-down" car loan (meaning they owe more than the car is worth) by stopping payments or allowing the lender to repossess it. The goal for the dealership is to facilitate a new sale by removing the old, problematic loan from the negotiation, often without disclosing the severe long-term financial consequences to the buyer. Key Aspects and Consequences of "Kicking" the Car Definition: It is a form of encouraging a voluntary repossession. The salesperson suggests that the buyer simply stop making payments on their old car to allow the lender to seize it, rather than rolling the negative equity into a new loan. The "Deficiency Balance" Trap: Contrary to what some salespeople may imply, abandoning the car does not erase the debt. The lender will sell the vehicle at auction, and the buyer is still responsible for the "deficiency"--the difference between the remaining loan balance and the sale price, plus fees. Credit Destruction: This action results in a significant negative mark on credit reports, potentially lowering scores by 100 points or more, and remains for up to seven years. Potential Legal Issues: Some industry experts consider this advice a form of fraud against lenders, as it involves intentionally defaulting on a loan to obtain new credit. Prevalence: While the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) states this is not common, consumer lawyers have reported an increase in these cases. Why Dealerships Suggest This Dealers use this tactic to make a deal happen when a customer is "buried" in negative equity and cannot afford to roll that debt into a new, higher-priced loan. It allows them to close a sale with a buyer who would otherwise not qualify for financing. Better Alternatives Instead of "kicking the trade," consumers are advised to: Wait and Pay Down the Loan: Continue making payments until the loan-to-value ratio is better. Sell the Car Privately: This usually fetches a better price than a dealer trade-in or auction. Refinance: Attempt to lower the interest rate and payment. Check for Gap Insurance: If the car was totaled, gap insurance covers the difference between the car's value and the loan amount. Potential Legal Issues: Some experts suggest this tactic may be illegal, as it can be interpreted as defrauding lenders by lying about indebtedness to fraudulently obtain new credit. So Essentially they are submitting fraudulent loan application that they are aware of a potential repossession or surrender that they encouraged so they can make a sale. Therefore defrauding lenders.

It has been a NIGHTMARE FROM BEGINNING TO END. DO NOT trust them AND WALK AWAY…read more I live in PA and bought my trade-in RAM from the previous owners who were GREAT. I did not know that they dealership was SOLD to the current CDJR Morgantown group. I drove to see a RAM Rebel that was difficult to find and wanted to look at it and take it for a drive. I was 2 steps from walking out and I AM KICKING MYSELF EVERYDAY FOR NOT RUNNING OUT THAT DOOR. Right now, my temporary license plate expires in 5 days and PA has no record of CDJR Morgantown sending the registration to DMV-PA on my behalf. But this is just the current problem. It gets better. Here is a summary of my experience with CDJR Morgantown (Bobby, Eric). I HAD A FRIEND WITH ME WHO CAN CORROBORATE MY STORY. I bought a 2025 Dodge Ram 1500 truck from CDJR Morgantown in the first week of June 2025. I have not received my permanent registration from PA and my TEMPORARY LICENSE EXPIRES 9/1/2025. I talked to Cindy of PA-DMV customer service on 8/29 at 4:15pm who instructed me to contact the dealership, CDJR Morgantown, about the registration that was supposedly sent to PA DMV on my behalf. If the dealership sent the registration during the 20 day window then my registration would have taken 3 days to complete. Also, the dealership would have sent a check to pay for the registration on my behalf, with the back of the check being printed with the 15 digit (starting with 55) WIN number. I contacted CDJR Morgantown and talked to the dealership about 10 days ago about not receiving my registration. The GM said that there is a "huge delay due issuing Real ID's" and that the registration will arrive. THIS WAS A LIE I also talked to DMV and AAA representatives who have stressed that there was no delay in issuing registrations (actually only a 3 day turnaround) and that there is no correlation between the two. MORE PROOF THAT IT WAS A LIE CDJR Morgantown failed to cancel the transferable extended warranty on my trade-in vehicle at the time of purchase. I contacted MOPAR and requested the cancellation and they stated that nobody from CDJR contacted them to end the warranty. Ended up receiving a check but would never have received it had I not requested the cancellation. THIS WAS DECEPTION I requested at the time of purchase that the LOJACK system be disengaged and taken off the vehicle price as I did not want the service. They did not cancel the service and cost me $1000. THIS WAS A LIE I requested an extended service contract that was like my previous contract on my trade-in vehicle, MOPAR. They sold me a service contract that was almost double the cost of the MOPAR contract. I had to drive to Morgantown from Pittsburgh to physically sign the cancellation contract which was an entire afternoon lost. Still have not seen the check reduce the amount of money on my financed loan amount. THIS WAS DECEPTION I have contacted CDJR Morgantown AGAIN and am waiting for a callback for help. NOTHING. I WOULD TAKE MY OLD TRADE-IN RAM AND TRADE IT FOR THIS NEW RAM IN A SECOND.

The terms of these were not discussed. I have my own insurance and do not need them. This was not represented in the advertised price of the vehicle. This is their way of making money for nothing. No one will ever file a claim on this when they have their own insurance.

He then asks about the sale and I told him I still needed to take the car onto the interstate before I would even consider an offer. He reluctantly allows me to take the interstate but asks me to take the very first exit. I honestly wait too long to merge in traffic and miss his exit request. He then asks if I was wasting his time and started screaming at me with colorful language. I apologized and immediately pulled the car over so he can take over. Keep in mind we're on the road for maybe 15 minutes. I was so dumbfounded I couldn't even be upset with the guy. I just apologized and wanted to leave. Doug proceeds to rev the car 6000 rpms in first gear in an attempt to gain traction while berating me about my "mistreatment" of the car. (lol) So while driving back to the dealership he apologizes for his behavior and offers to sell me the car despite my mishandling of the car. (lmao this one was wild) I humor this idea just for the sake of avoiding awkwardness and Doug just pawns me over to the sales manager. After disagreeing about price, I apologize to Doug for wasting his time to which he responded sarcastically. Doug's behavior was so bad that I honestly can't even hold a grudge over the guy. They had me working with the newest employee (less than 2 weeks), which I'm fine with, besides it was clear he had 0 training, and no one experienced was helping him. Every single question I had needed to be brought back to someone else which made what should have been a 30 minute appointment a 1.5 hour appointment. Sometimes leaving me alone at the desk for 15-20 minutes. The second the clock hit 5:30 the managers walked out of their office and shut off all of the lights in the building, including where I was still trying to work on figuring out their calculations on the vehicle. Repeatedly I was told "this is just the number in the system, me and my manager don't know why it's that price or how it got to that price" at one point all of the numbers changed and there was also no explanation. All in all, it was not welcoming, felt like they did not value my business, did not take my business seriously, and just didn't care if they made the sale or not. I corrected it, but the pull continued. Dealership response -I contacted the dealership and spoke with Sales Manager Will. He initially didn't want to help. -I explained this should have been caught during the 160-point inspection for Toyota Gold Certification. -Will eventually said they would reimburse an alignment up to $200 if done at a local dealer. Local dealer visit & tire damage -The local dealer confirmed the alignment was significantly off (they didn't print the measurements for me). -After that visit, my wife immediately noticed a loud noise. -I later found feathering on the outer edge of a tire that still has 9/32 of its original 10.1/32 tread depth (fairly new). -The feathering was likely caused by bad alignment and/or driving with low tire pressure--something I would have noticed during the test drive if the alignment and pressure had been correct from the start. Escalation -When I contacted Will again, he said my only option was to bring the vehicle back and trade it in. -I told him I planned to post an honest review of my experience. He said that if I posted a review, he wouldn't send the reimbursement he had already promised for the alignment. -I told him I would only be stating the truth about my experience. I lied and said I wouldn't post so I could receive the promised reimbursement. Now that I have it, I want others to know what to expect. Warranty misrepresented -My sales rep Jeff told me the vehicle had: ~Toyota Gold Certified 7-year/100,000-mile drivetrain warranty, and ~1-year/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, starting on my purchase date. -After receiving the Toyota warranty card, I learned the coverage is only up to 100,000 total vehicle miles--something I missed in the contract--so I have nothing to fall back on for this issue. Bottom line -I will never do business with this dealership again. -If you buy a car here, be thorough and take your time making sure that it is in the condition that is expected.
