OK, so I usually hate getting my car fixed, or maintained, because I never feel like I can trust…read morethe mechanics. But getting my Volkswagon fixed at Sam's was literally the best car repair experience of my life. I just had to write a review because it's SO RARE to find a quality, honest mechanic like Sam! We were due for our 100,000 mile maintenance and needed some preventative service done. We were visiting Uniontown had to leave in a few days -- but Sam was generous in fitting us in during a busy week. He did a lot of research to find the parts we needed, fast (and cheaply) and gave us a solid quote (which was much cheaper than anything we would have found where we live). When we came to pick the car up, Sam was thorough and walked us through everything he did to the car. He showed us the parts he replaced and told us about some additional issues the car had that he simply took care of for us. He had checked our previous maintenance records and left us with some great tips and pointers for how to best take care of our particular type of engine. He told us how one prior mechanic messed something (small) up on the car and told us the cheapest way to fix it once we were back home. The total matched his quote exactly and we were so impressed with the whole experience. He was careful, efficient, polite, professional, totally honest -- and very, VERY reasonably priced! If you ever need a mechanic in the Uniontown area, this is the guy.

Dave Carney truly saved our road trip vacation last month. We were hundreds of miles away from…read morehome when our engine light came on. We checked in at our Uniontown hotel and drove over to Carney's. Dave came out and took at least 20 minutes to run a diagnostics on the engine and gave us the peace of mind that it was not a serious issue -- probably a bad tank of gas -- and we could drive it. Dave did not want to charge us for his time and told us to pay it forward. He promised that if the engine light came on again he would work on the car the next day. We did not have any more problems and were able to enjoy Fallingwater the next day. What a great guy!!

Called Westover tire to see if they had the tire I needed in stock. They did and gave me detailed instructions on how they wanted the truck pulled in. If I could give them negative stars, I would!!…read more I would not recommend Westover Tire. We took my daughter's car in for new brake pads, rotors, and an inspection. The car had been running fine, but the shop told us it needed a new alternator. Because the estimated repairs would have cost more than the car was worth, we declined the work. After my daughter picked up the car and started driving home, the shop called to say they had left a tool inside the car and had also kept her driver's license and registration. While she was driving back to retrieve them, the car completely broke down on the side of the highway and had to be towed. The timing was extremely concerning, especially since the car had shown no signs of an alternator problem before it was taken to Westover Tire. When I called to discuss the situation, the manager, Jeff, was condescending and sarcastic. He asked, "If she stopped at the grocery store, would it be their fault that the car broke down?" That response showed no concern for my daughter being stranded on the highway and did nothing to address our concerns. They offered no help and said that this wasn't on them. Between the breakdown immediately after the shop handled the car, the tool left inside it, the failure to return her license and registration, and the manager's unprofessional attitude, we have serious concerns about how the vehicle and this situation were handled. This was a horrible experience, and we will not return. -K.L. Ramsey
