My daughter, who attends Glenville State University, had to drive to Morgantown for a doctor's appointment and ran into car trouble along the way. We ended up needing a tow, and after checking reviews, we chose Shorty Anderson's Auto Repair. They were incredibly helpful and friendly when I called to explain the situation, and they followed up with me the next morning as soon as they opened. The repairs were done quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised that their pricing was fair--no price gouging, which I really appreciated, especially since we're not local. By far the worst service ever and i got screwed over. Took my car in, never called me to tell me what the issue was and did an oil change( which I already had done a month ago) No communication you have to make all the calls and hope that someone picks up, because they don't always pick up. Got charged and the same issue came up a couple of days later. There is no waiting room and the 5 stars they have on yelp needs to be updated cause the truth is they are by far the worst I have ever experienced. read more

Honest work and they are thorough. Respectful in how they treat customers, even completely new ones. They stand by old school values of frank talk and genial, friendly service. However they are firm about their rules, i.e. no outside parts. So sometimes you end up paying approx 20-30 over cost of part on Advance Auto etc. But since they diagnose most minor issues for no cost, do drive test for 10-15 minutes etc for free to diagnose issue, in that sense I was ok paying for slightly higher repair cost on part. was very happy with the work here. Will recommend to friends gladly. tip: It is a challenge to park in front of this business on the street, so use their off street parking opposite to them and then *SAFELY* (look both sides) cross the street. read more

I had taken my car in to Goodyear for an inspection sticker and was told that I needed $1036. worth of work done. I took the car to Shorty Anderson and the checked my car and most of the things that I was told I needed was not true. They fixed my car for $381. Thank God for a business that will tell the truth and not try to take advantage of people. read more

If there were more than 5 stars, I'd give it that rating. Best auto shop in Morgantown hands down. We had a mystery issue with our car that kept causing it to break down randomly and without warning, once leaving us stranded in D. C. after it being misdiagnosed. Shorty's not only had us bring it in and worked on it twice more FOR FREE but also refunded us the amount we payed to tow our car home. Absolutely incredible service. Never overpriced. I will start by saying that this place is slightly more expensive than other places around town but it is worth every single penny. I originally went here because they have one of the best reputations in town and they came highly recommended. Costs aside, the customer service is incredible and they do amazing work. I have been to many repair shops for different vehicles. I haven't seen a shop like this one ever...From Georgia all the way up to West Virginia. This may be a small auto shop but to get an appointment or service done you have to call a few days in advance because they are this good at serving their customers. They've been in the business a long time. I've been servicing my 1996 Ford F-150 with them and have enjoyed every appointment. From brake lines, Springs/shackles, oil changes, spark plugs, Rust issues, Shorty's has came through each time and with honest pricing. Highly recommend this Fair and honest business!! My daughter is a student at WVU and was having handling issues with her Subaru. With being 3 1/2 hrs away I called Shorty Anderson's about looking at her car. They recommend a towing company and just had the tow bill added to the repairs. They kept me up to date on what the repair was going to be as well as the costs involved. They were very fair and honest on what needed repaired now as well as pointing out a few issues to keep an eye on in the future. As far as costs go they were very reasonable. I brought in my 2010 Ram 1500 2 weeks ago. The AC blower/ selector was broken. The same problem happened 3 years ago and foolish me, I brought it to the local Dodge dealership. Boy it cost me $1200 to fix it. Now I am smarter, I asked around and found Shorty to have good reputation and gave it a try. It took them 1/2 day to fix the problem, cost me $124. There was a part they missed so I could not pick it up but they fixed it right away. Did not charge me extra labor, just the $42 for the extra part. All in all, I am very happy with their service. Honest people. When they missed the first time, they did not give me BS, just plainly said they overlooked and apologized. I appreciate their honesty. Will definitely give them my business again. As for the Dodge dealership that cost almost 10 times as much, that will be another review. read more

Best auto repair shop in Morgantown by a long shot. These guys are really great. I read a few glowing reviews on Shorty's before taking my car in for several loud noises. Dropped my car off at 10am. Got a call at 10:45am telling me exactly what the problems were and what the cost would be to fix them and was driving my completely repaired car out of their lot at 2pm the SAME DAY. Any other place in Morgantown seems to take a full day just to get around to looking at your vehicle, let alone starting the work. Pricing was completely reasonable, if not a downright bargain. The guys are very friendly and you can tell that they are genuinely concerned with fixing your vehicle without ripping you off. My son is a student at WVU. He recently came back to Morgantown for the weekend to move from one apartment to another. While he was there the starter went out in the car he was driving. I had recently replaced this starter about 3 months prior. I looked for a repair facility there online and found Shorty Anderson. I called and spoke with Shorty and told him that I just replaced the starter. He recommended a tow company and we got the car over to them. This was a Thursday afternoon. I figured that it would probably be a few days before they got it fixed. Low and behold, they called Friday afternoon and told me it was fixed. Here's where I was pleasantly surprised. They remembered me telling them about replacing the starter. I had bought it from a national parts store. Shorty's called them, gave them my # so they could look it up. The parts place saw where I had just done it and covered it under warranty.. This was by far very impressive. They went above and beyond. Our total bill included our tow bill it is was very reasonable. I told Shorty when we spoke that my son had returned to Va. and it would be almost a week to 10 days before we could get up there to pick the car up. He told me whatever I needed and to not worry about it. The car would be safe. I have been in the automotive industry for over 25 years and a place like Shorty Anderson's are hard to come by. John and Ernie replaced rear brake pads and rotors on my Hyundai. They also installed new rear shocks. A few weeks later, I noticed an unusual sound in the rear of the car. Long story short......we get a defective shock. Shorty's replaced it..........no charge! And it was almost 3 months after they'd done the initial work.
